Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

We’re back with another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop for you today.  I used Birthday Blooms, from Stampin’ Up!, to create my card to share with you.

We have a color challenge this week, and Mint Macaron has truly been a wonderful color the last two years!  Make sure you order anything from the 2015-2017 In-Color Collection soon because they retire June 1st.   Those items will vanish fast!

I’m also playing along with the Coming Up Flowers Challenge #93 At Stamp Ink Paper this week.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 93

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper and the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  The large flower image was stamped in Versa Mark ink, and heat embossed using White Emboss Powder.  Then, I began to color in the flowers with my Watercolor Pen and Calypso Coral ink.  Once it was dry, I came back in and water colored Mint Macaron on all of the leaf images.  Finally, I colored in the center of the bloom with more water coloring in Daffodil Delight.  The Mint Macaron dotted images are also from Birthday Blooms, and were added last.

I used the sentiment from Jar of Love, and the Banners Framelits Dies for my banner cut outs. The Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine is really White Baker’s Twine that I dyed using vinegar and my Calypso Coral re-inker.  It was my first time trying this technique.  Luckily, I realized in enough time that I was out of the Calypso Coral twine, and dyed some ahead of when I needed it, so it had time to dry!  I’m happy with the results, and will try this again with other colors.

For the inside, I chose a sentiment from Floral Phrases and stamped it in Mint Macaron.  My small flower is from Birthday Blooms and was stamped in Calypso Coral.

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! supplies needed to complete this project, as well as card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Now, you can continue the hop to see what Kristi has created for us today.

Stampin’ Up! Basket Bunch Thank You

Today I am sharing the Basket Bunch Bundle from Stampin’ Up!  I just received this bundle last Sunday from my up-line, Amy, and have been dying to try it out.  Have I told you how much I love our quarterly team meetings?  We get together for lunch, have a business meeting, make projects and then receive prizes!  Woo-hoo!  I’d really love to have you on my team, you’d love it, too!  Make sure you get in touch with me if you are interested.

I made a Basket Bunch Thank You card on a Whisper White Note Card.

I started with a Crumb Cake panel that I dry embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, then snailed it to a panel of Wild Wasabi card stock.  Next, I adhered a panel of the Carried Away DSP (free while supplies last during Sale-A-Bration) to a panel of Peekaboo Peach card stock.  Using the Basket Builder Framelits Dies, I cut out two bunches of grass in Wild Wasabi and attached it to the Peekaboo Peach panel.  A length of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon was adhered to the bottom and the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Next, I stamped the rabbit and carrot images from Basket Bunch in Memento Black ink.  This ink does not stain the photopolymer stamps as much as other inks do.  I used a Blender Pen and carefully colored in the rabbit with Crumb Cake ink, making sure not to get it too wet.  I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the rest of the images.and then cut them all out with the dies.  The sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark, sprinkled with Gold Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  The banners were cut with the die from the Popcorn Box Thinlets.

For the inside of my card, I stamped the grass in Wild Wasabi along the bottom of a panel of Whisper White.  I stamped the rabbit and the carrot in Memento Black ink and colored them in with Stampin’ Write Markers.  The sentiment was stamped in Peekaboo Peach.  So, how do you like it?  I know if you haven’t added the Basket Bunch Bundle to your stash, you really must consider it.  You’ll be seeing me post more with this set!

For a list of all of the products used in my Basket Bunch Thank You, and card stock cuts, see the end of my post.
