Stampin’ Up! Beachy Little Christmas CAS Card

I used the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set to create a CAS card for today.  The inspiration for the clean and simple design is from the CAS on Friday Challenge #122.

Stampin' Up! Beachy Little Christmas-CardiologybyJari

I started by stamping the the sand and water with a stamp from the Sheltering Tree set in Sahara Sand and Pool Party on a panel of Whisper White.  Next, I stamped the palm tree from Beachy Little Christmas in Basic Black ink and colored it in with Sahara Sand, Real Red, Pear Pizzaz and Pool Party Stampin’ Write Markers.  The art panel was then adhered to a panel of Pool Party and popped onto the Whisper White Thick card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Beachy Little Christmas-CardiologybyJari

The little beach hut was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink onto a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock.  I used my Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends markers to color it in, then fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips.  The wreath and the swirl on the surfboard were colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers, then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A shell was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink, colored in with a Sahara Sand marker and fussy cut out, then added with a dimensional. The right side of the card looked a little bare, so I added a cloud from the Lift Me Up stamp set and Up & Away Thinlets Dies.

Stampin' Up! Beachy Little Christmas-CardiologybyJari

I couldn’t resist that cute little crab for the inside of the card.  It was also stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and colored in with Real Red and Pear Pizzaz Stampin’ Write Markers.  This stamp set retires with the 2017 Occasions Catalog on January 2nd, and if you are a sand and sea lover like me, you really need to add this one to your collection.  It can be used all year round without the sentiments.  Enjoy!

Important Update on the Stamparatus!

Stamparatus

The results are in! The first Stamparatus reservation window reached its maximum number of reservations in just 15 minutes, which provided us with some very important information: You LOVE this new stamping tool! We couldn’t be more thrilled; in fact, your response was so amazing that we’ve decided to make some important adjustments to the reservation process.

As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period we will take as many orders as we receive and not close the window until December 30. So whether the total number of reservations is 100 or 100,000, the window will stay open!

Please note the following changes:
  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced).
  • In order to accommodate demand, limits have changed as follows:
    • One reservation per customer.
    • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.

Please note what has not changed:

  • The reservation window will open at 2:00 PM (MT) on December 5.

We can’t wait for you to get your hands on your very own Stamparatus and look forward to seeing the projects you’ll make with this incredible stamping tool.

Here is a helpful tutorial on how to order your Stamparatus on the 5th (That is tomorrow!!!)

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome once again to our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  I used the ever so popular Daisy Delight stamp set, from Stampin’ Up!, to create the clean and simple card I am sharing with you today.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight-Cardiology by Jari

Here is the sketch which inspired us:

Happy Inkin' Thursday Sketch Delight

I started by cutting a template from one of my Layering Circle Framelits Dies so that I could sponge a circular area onto my Whisper White art panel.  Once the hole was cut out, I placed my template over the Whisper White panel, held it tightly over the area I wanted colored, and then used Daffodil Delight ink and a sponge.  I made circular swipes with my sponge until I was happy with the amount of color sponged onto to the panel.

Stampin' Up1 Daisy Delight-Cardiology by Jari

Next, I stamped the flower stems from Daisy Delight in Old Olive ink.  The daisy flower heads were stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and the small flower heads in Night of Navy ink.  I adhered the art panel to a panel of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  I’m not really happy with a lot of white space on my cards, so I decided to stamp the small bee image from the Touches of Texture stamp set.  I fussy cut it with Paper Snips and added some clear Wink of Stella to the wings.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight-Cardiology by Jari

I stamped the sentiment from Sheltering Tree in VersaMark ink onto a panel of Night of Navy, sprinkled it with White Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  The ends of the banner were punched with the Banner Triple Punch.

A length of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon was adhered to the front of the card, then I popped on the banner with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  For a little added interest, I added 3 Metallic Enamel Shapes and the card front was complete.  For the inside, I adhered a strip of the Delightful Daisy DSP used on the card front to the bottom of a Whisper White panel and left the rest blank for writing a message.  Enjoy!

A complete list of stamping supplies needed to create this card as well as card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Now, I hope you’ll hop around to see what the rest of the crew has created for you today!

Stampin’ Up! Swirly Bird Kite

Today’s  clean and simple card is made with the Kite images from the Swirly Bird stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I have seen several cards using the Kite in this set and have been wanting to try it myself.

Kite

My sketch inspiration came from Case This Sketch, CTS #183.  Please make sure you take a look at all of the inspiration over there.

CTS 183 Kite

Kite

I started by stamping the Kite images in Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point onto some Whisper White thick card stock.  Whenever I am going to fussy cut an image, the thick card stock holds up much better for me.  I used the “swoosh” image from Sheltering Tree and inked some bright colors for the sky background.  They are in order from top down:  Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral.

Kite

The Thinking of You sentiment is also from Sheltering Tree, and is stamped onto the front of the Whisper White panel in Pacific Point ink.  I decided where I wanted each Kite to go and then stamped the kite strings in Pacific Point.  The tails are stamped in Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay.  Then each Kite was added to the front with dimensionals.  I adhered the art piece to a panel of Bermuda Bay with liquid glue, then popped that panel onto the Pacific Point card base with dimensionals.

Kite

For the inside, I chose a sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set and stamped it in Pacific Point, then added another Kite stamped in Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point inks.

Card Stock Cuts in inches and a list of Stampin’ Up! products used will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Hi, and welcome again to our Happy Stampers Thursday Blog Hop!  We are all so excited to have you join us for our sketch challenge:

I’m sharing a Sheltering Tree Christmas card for our hop today.

12043085_1271122592914313_575455954017426796_nIt’s always fun to see how everyone interprets the  challenge, whether it’s a sketch or color one.  If you have been following us for a while, you may have noticed that we alternate each week between sketch and color challenges.  This week, I wanted to pull out one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets, Sheltering Tree.  The set is so versatile for any season and that is what makes it really appealing.

Sheltering Tree Christmas Card-iology by Jari

My card is truly very simple to make.  I used Whisper White Craft ink and Early Expresso ink on Smoky Slate Card Stock to give it an extra wintery look. The sentiment is from the Happy Scenes stamp set.

Sheltering Tree ChristmasCard-iology by Jari

I took a snowflake and dabbed it onto my Versa Mark pad, then sprinkled Heat and Stick powder onto it and heated it with my Heat Tool until a little glossy.  Then, I added Silver Stampin’ Glitter and heated a little more till it dried. For a little extra shimmer, I used Silver Cording to wrap around the card twice and then tied a bow through the center of the snowflake.  Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels completed the front.  Now on to the inside:

Sheltering Tree Christmas Card-iology by Jari

The snowflake stamp from Sheltering Tree was stamped with Whisper White Craft ink and the sentiment, also from Happy Scenes, was stamped with Early Expresso ink onto a panel of Smoky Slate cardstock.  The Silver Foil snowflakes were cut out with the snowflake die from the Square Pillowbox Thinlits Dies.

Card cuts and tips will be at the end of my post.  Now, I hope you are ready to hop around to see what the talented Kristi Gray has designed for us.

Stampin’ Up! September Paper Pumpkin

Have you seen the September Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up! ?  Every month, I am so excited to see what is in store for me.  This month’s kit is so cute.

Sept Paper Pumpkin

This kit contains enough supplies for 8 treat bags and tags, and the stamps are very fun, too!

I have 8 grandchildren, so this kit is perfect for me for Halloween treats for them.  Just don’t tell my husband there wasn’t one for him ok? 😈 Here is one of the bags I made:

Paper Pumpkin Sept 2015 Card-iology by Jari

I decided I wanted to also make a Halloween card using some of the stamps from this set, so I began to pull together all of the stamps I thought I could combine to make a Halloween scene.  I pulled out Sheltering Tree, Happy Scenes and of course, the September Paper Pumpkin offerings.  Here is what I came up with:

Halloween Sheltering Tree and Happy Scenes Card-iology by Jari

First, I stamped the tree from the Sheltering Tree set in Memento Black ink onto a panel of Whisper White.  I decided it needed some spiders to make it a little more creepy, so I masked off the web part of the stamp with scotch tape and inked up the spider and its dragline from Happy Scenes in Memento Black ink and stamped it as if they were hanging  from the 3 branches. Then, I added the rake which was stamped in Memento Black.  The leaves were inked with Delightful Dijon and Tangelo Twist and stamped across the bottom of the card.

Halloween

The pumpkins were cut out with a die from the Square Pillow Box Thinlets Dies and decorated with a Black Stampin’ Write marker, and popped up with Dimensionals.  I stamped the Witch’s Hat from the Paper Pumpkin set in Memento Black right onto the Whisper White piece and added the Boo sentiment from the Happy Scenes set also in Memento Black.  Happy Haunting, also from September Paper Pumpkin, was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White in Tangelo Twist ink. I used the smallest banner from the Banners Framelits die set to cut it out and trimmed the left end a little so that I could frame it in a piece of Tangelo Twist that had also been cut out with the same banner.

Halloween Sheltering Tree

For the inside, I stamped a pumpkin from the Paper Pumpkin stamps and a sentiment from the Happy Scenes set in Tangelo Twist, and the Boo, also from Happy Scenes, in Memento Black.  I added a left over strip of the DSP  to the bottom with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
