Stampin’ Up! Better Together For a Friend

I used the Stampin’ Up! Better Together stamp set and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets to create the card I am sharing with you today.

Stampin' Up! Better Together Cardiology by Jari

The inspiration for my design is from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #235  challenge this week:

PCC#235

I started by adhering a panel of Playful Palette to a panel of Very Vanilla, then adhered them to a panel of Wild Wasabi. Next, I added some Tear & Tape Adhesive to a length of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and carefully lined it up right at the point the Playful Palette strip met the Very Vanilla panel.  I made sure the ribbon was a little longer than my art panel so that I could also secure it to the back.

Stampin' Up! Better Together Cardiology by Jari

I pulled out my Swirly Scribbles Thinlets dies and cut two Wild Wasabi “wreaths”.  They were not lined up exactly perfectly to create a little fuller looking wreath, dotted very carefully with Liquid Glue and set aside to dry.  Next, I stamped 3 of the rose images from Better Together in Flirty Flamingo onto a scrap of Pink Pirouette card stock and carefully cut them out with my Paper Snips.  But the leaves are green…..

Stampin' Up! Better Together Cardiology by Jari

Yes, so I stamped three more of the rose images ,this time in Wild Wasabi onto a scrap of Wild Wasabi card stock. Then, I carefully cut them out again with Paper Snips and decided to outline them a little more with my Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write Marker.  I lined them up with my pink roses and used a little Liquid Glue to adhere them.

The sentiment banner came next.  It was stamped in Versa Mark onto a strip of Blushing Bride, sprinkled with Gold Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I snipped a little off the end with my Banner Triple Punch and added it and the strip of Fabulous Foil DSP to the front of the card with Liquid Glue.  My roses were attached to the wreath with some Liquid Glue and some Dimensionals.  Then, the wreath was attached to the front with a lot of small pieces of Dimensionals.  This whole panel was then popped onto the Blushing Bride base and 3 Metallic Enamel Dots finished it off.

Stampin' Up! Better Together Cardiology by Jari

More Gold Embossing Powder was added to the inside sentiment, also from Better Together, and a single rose was added to the bottom corner.  This time, I used the ink to rubber method on the rose, using my Wild Wasabi and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Markers to color on the stamp.  And, I even decorated my envelope…

Card stock cuts and a supply list of the products used to create my card will be at the end of my post.

Oh So Succulent for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Hop

Happy Inkin' Thursday

I used the Stampin’ Up! Oh So Succulent Bundle to create my card for today’s Blog Hop.

Oh So Succulent

Here is our sketch this week:

Happy Inkin' Thursday Sketch

I started with a panel from the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a panel of Sweet Sugarplum card stock with liquid glue.  Next, I cut two strips of a coordinating pattern from the Succulent Garden DSP and adhered them to the lower half of the front panel.

Oh So Succulent

I then die cut the large Sweet Sugarplum succulent with the Succulent Framelits and stamped the ends with Whisper White Craft ink.  Before I assembled the flower, I curled the petals with my bone folder.  The Oh So Succulent stamp set is designed for 2-step stamping.  One of the images fills in the center and the other outlines the flower.  For the Mint Macaron succulent, I stamped the center in Mint Macaron and then the outline in Old Olive.  The smaller succulent in stamped in Calypso Coral and the others in Old Olive inks.  I used a sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams and stamped it in Versa Mark and heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  My banner was cut with a die from the Gift Card Envelopes & Trims Framelits.

Oh So Succulent

For some reason, my camera would not focus when I tried to take a photo of the whole inside of my card, so I am only showing a portion of it!  I stamped the lower left corner with images from Oh So Succulent using Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, Old Olive and Sweet Sugarplum inks.

Card stock cuts in inches and all of the products used to create my card will be at the end of my post.

Hey, Chick for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Occasions & Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Amy's Inkin' Krew Hey Chick

This month, Amy’s Inkin’ Krew is bringing you projects from the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  Don’t you just love all of the new products?  I hope you’ll make sure and hop around to see what is new!  I’m sharing Hey, Chick, one of the FREE stamp sets you can earn during Sale-A-Bration.

Chick

I started out using a scrap piece of paper to stamp all sorts of possibilities for these three images, and the umbrella from the Weather Together stamp set.  Once I decided on how I wanted it to look, I stamped each of the Hey, Chick images in Basic Gray onto a panel of Shimmery White Card Stock.  Then, I stamped the raindrops, also from Weather Together, in Basic Gray ink.  I wanted the umbrella to appear to be under the rooster’s wing, so, I made a mask of his wing with a post-it note.  Once I cut out the wing part, I adhered it over his real wing and then stamped the handle of the umbrella.

Chick

Next, I stamped the canopy of the umbrella in Basic Gray right above the handle onto my Shimmery White card stock. I also stamped the canopy onto a panel of Watermelon Wonder polka dot paper from the 2015-2017 In Color Paper Stacks and used the coordinating die to cut it out. This is called Paper Piecing.  Adds some interest, doesn’t it?

My next step was to begin the coloring process on the rooster, the egg and the hen.  So, I pulled out my new Watercolor Pencils (SO FUN), and began to lightly blend each image.   I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Early Expresso and Basic Gray.

Chick

The sentiment, also from Hey Chick, was stamped with Versa Mark ink onto a panel of Basic Gray, sprinkled with White Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I then cut it out with the small oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

My card base is Watermelon Wonder. The next layer, from Carried Away DSP (also free during Sale-A-Bration), was adhered with glue.  The art panel was framed with Basic Gray card stock and then popped onto the front with dimensionals.

Hey Chick

So, for the inside, I could not leave out this crazy image!  I am told by a team member that he is a Silkie breed rooster.  I looked it up on a website she suggested and found this picture of one called a Top Hat Special.  Crazy fun!!

A complete list of supplies and card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Encouragement Card

My share today is from Beautiful You, one of the new stamp sets found in the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  I really think this set is appropriately named.  It is beautiful!  You can find this stamp set on page 24.  It lends itself to the new Watercolor Pencils, the Blender Pens, Aqua Painters, or you might just want to try your hand at paper piecing!

Beautiful

The design for my card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches 269.

FMS#269 Beautiful

And the color inspiration from Sunday Stamps SSC#143

SSC143 Beautiful

I hope you’ll check out both of these challenge blogs and all of the beautiful creations there!  You may even decide to play along!

I started by layering a panel of Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, new for the 2017 Occasions Catalog, onto a panel of Tip Top Taupe.  Then, I secured a length of Very Vanilla Lace Trim and Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon to the front with a little Tear and Tape adhesive.  I also used some clear tape to hold it in place on the back.  I made sure the front adhesive was going to be covered by the art panel.

Beautiful

I chose some Shimmery White card stock for my art panel and stamped the image and sentiment from Beautiful You in Tip Top Taupe ink. Then, I pulled out my blender pen and began to color in the dress and umbrella using my Pink Pirouette and Sweet Sugarplum ink pads.  I pushed on the tops while closed, then opened the ink pad and dipped my blender pen into the puddle of ink there.  I used some Soft Sky ink on the wet ground.  The art panel was layered onto a Pink Pirouette panel, then to a Tip Top Taupe panel.  One heart shaped Enamel Shapes Embellishment was added for extra interest.

Beautiful

To keep with the encouragement theme, I chose the inside sentiment from the You’ve Got This stamp set.  First I stamped the squiggle image onto a scrap piece of paper and stamped in the center of the Shimmery White card stock.  Then, I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position my sentiment where I wanted it and to be able to stamp it twice to make the color stand out.

Beautiful You is such a fun stamp set because it is really unique to most of the stamps Stampin’ Up! currently offers. Have you decided to add it to your wish list, or have you already ordered it?

A complete list of supplies and card stock cuts are at the end of my post.

I mentioned above the benefits of joining Stampin’ Up! during Sale-a-Bration, but I am going to repeat, this is the best time of the year to join.  I joined during Sale-a-Bration two years ago and was able to enjoy the extra benefits.  I joined because the first time I stamped my first card, I was hooked!  I loved the products and excitement of trying new techniquies and finding all of the awesome cards and projects on Pinterest and Splitcoast Stampers.

Join as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator during Sale-a-bration and get 2 free stamp sets with your Starter Kit! As a demonstrator you get at least a 20% discount, early access to new catalog products, get to attend OnStage events, make wonderful new friends, and the list goes on and on!  I first joined as a hobby stamper, then decided to try my wings at blogging!  I guess another great advantage I forgot to mention is there are no strings attached, if it’s not right for you, you can drop at any with no penalty and you get to keep all of the items in your starter kit. Stampin’ Up! So In Love Sneak Peek

Today I am sharing another sneak peek from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog. Today’s sneak peek is from the So In Love Bundle.

So In Love

The So Detailed Thinlets, which are a part of this bundle, are just beautiful!  I cut 2 of this floral die in Very Vanilla card stock.  Then, I  attached them both to the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper by folding down the little tabs on either side and adding some liquid glue.  Each of the dies has a little tab on either side for folding it down onto your card stock, or to a panel to make a belly band.  I also cut a panel of Vellum the same size as the DSP, then slid it in between the die cuts and Falling in Love DSP.  Tiny specks of liquid glue were added to the inside of the die cut out so that it would lie flat against the Vellum.  Finally, the whole panel was adhered to the Sweet Sugarplum card base with glue.

So In Love

.

A length of Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon was wrapped around the card front.  Before I finished tying the bow, I added a Falling In Love Embellishment with a strand of Linen Thread.

I stamped a sentiment from So In Love in Sweet Sugarplum onto a panel of Very Vanilla.  Then, I cut it out using my Paper Snips and attached it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So In Love

Inside the card is another sentiment from So In Love, stamped in Sweet Sugarplum.  Next, I stamped the bottom corner with the flower image from the set, using the stamping off technique.

So In Love

Remember the So In Love Bundle is available on January 4, 2017.   Save 10% when you purchase So In Love and the So Detailed Thinlets as a bundle!

Card stock cuts and a list of products used in today’s card will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Merriest Wishes for PCC #214

I used the Stampin’ Up! Merriest Wishes stamp set and Merry Tags Framelits Dies to create my card for the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge this week.

Here is the sketch, and make sure to check out all of the other cards showcased there.  And, try your hand at the challenge, too!  PCC#214

Merriest for PCC 214

Merriest

I love these rich colors together for Christmas!  Yes, I admit it, I am pretty traditional when it comes to Christmas colors. I started with a Cherry Cobbler card stock base, then worked on the art work panel.  First, I stamped the Whisper White panel with two different stamps from Gorgeous Grunge.  The lines are stamped in Cherry Cobbler that I stamped off first onto a piece of scrap paper.  For the dotted image stamp, I used Garden Green ink that was also stamped off once onto a scrap paper before stamping onto the Whisper White.

Merriest

I pulled out the tree ornament die from the Merry Tags Framelits (bundle with Merriest Wishes and save 10%) and die cut two of them in Garden Green card stock.  Then, I used liquid glue to adhere them together.  I used a Layering Circle die that was a little smaller than the ornament and die cut one circle in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. It was adhered with liquid glue.  Next, I die cut a bow and some boughs for the top of the ornament using the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies.  They were attached with some dots of liquid glue and a Silver Metallic Enamel Shape adorns the middle of the bow.

MerriestThe Merriest Wishes sentiment tag was stamped with Cherry Cobbler, then die cut with the smallest Banners Framelits Die.  I also cut one in Cherry Cobbler to add to the back so that it would stand out against the background.  The plaid panel is from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered directly to the Whisper White panel with liquid glue. I cut a length of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine and added it under the banner using dimensionals. A length of Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Silky Taffeta ribbon serves as the ornament hanger and is attached with Tear & Tape Adhesive, then I popped on the ornament and the art panel onto the base with dimensionals. Silver Sequins were added for a little bling.

Merriest

The inside Whisper White panel was stamped first with a stamp from Merriest Wishes in Garden Green.  I remembered that there was a Christmas sentiment in the Better Together stamp set and stamped it in the center with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Card stock cuts in inches and a product list is provided at the end of my post.

I started with a floral pattern from Blooms & Bliss DSP and adhered a coordinating Blooms & Bliss panel to it with liquid glue.  Then, I adhered that panel to some Rich Razzleberry card stock with more liquid glue.  I cut a piece of Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon and adhered it with Tear & Tape adhesive, making sure that it was also secured to the back.  This new panel was then popped onto the Mint Macaron card stock base with dimensionals.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from Birthday Blossoms in Rich Razzleberry onto a panel of Sahara Sand card stock.  I chose a flower from the Crazy About You set and stamped it off once onto a scrap paper before stamping it onto my Whisper White card stock.  I then fussy cut it out with Paper Snips.  The center of the flower is from a die found in the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and was popped onto the flower center with a small piece of dimensional.  I used the leaf die from the Rose Garden Thinlets Dies and cut one set of leaves in Mint Macaron card stock. The flower and leaves were added to the front of the sentiment panel with dimensionals.

Blooms & Bliss

For the inside, I chose another sentiment from Birthday Blossoms and stamped it in Rich Razzleberry ink onto a panel of Whisper White.  I used some of the left over Rich Razzleberry DSP that I had used on the front for the bottom.

Since this was a requested birthday card for a co-worker to give to a daughter-in-law, I decided to add some more of the Blooms & Bliss paper to the back of the envelope flap.

Pines

I started with a panel of Presents and Pinecones Specialty Designer Series Paper (the Mint Macaron stripe) and adhered it to the pine cone patterned DSP with liquid glue.  I added a length of Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon where the two papers met using a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Next, I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of this panel and attached it to the Cherry Cobbler card stock base.

Using some Early Expresso ink, I stamped the large banner stamp from Christmas Pines onto a panel of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink, then I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut it out.  I die cut several pine boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies from Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron Card stock, one Cherry Cobbler berry bunch, as well as two pine cones using Early Expresso and Crumb Cake Card stock. Using some liquid glue, I dabbed a little onto the pine boughs, berries and pine cones to keep them in a group, then added dimensionals to pop the grouping and the sentiment banner onto the front of the card.

For the inside, I first stamped one of the pine bough branch images from Christmas Pines in Mint Macaron ink onto a Whisper White panel.  The sentiment was then stamped in Cherry Cobbler on top of the bough.

Stamping supplies used in making this card are listed at the end of my post.

This project provides a plethora of ways to give thanks for the coming Thanksgiving Holiday, or for anytime you want to just be thankful! In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to quickly transform a Spiral Memo Pad into a Personal Thankful Journal. The Gift Bag Punch Board makes the coordinating Note Card Holder a snap to create, and just the right size to hold a plentiful stack of Note Cards to write all your thoughts and memories on. You’ll also make a simple, but trendy Tagged Mason Jar to hold all your thankful Note Cards. Be sure to include a Project Life Journaling Pen to write on the Note Cards that will fill the Jar. And, of course, the Thinking of You Card is the perfect partner to any or all of these projects for gift giving!

Craft Project Central is your one stop shop for creative project ideas- a place where you can subscribe monthly to get complete instructions for 10 projects from talented designers using only current Stampin’ Up products so you can create the projects you see.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves for Fall Thank You Card

Today’s card is another fall inspired card using the Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets Framelets Dies from Stampin’ Up!

Vintage Leaves Card-iology by Jari

When I first spotted the Bohemian DSP paper from Stampin’ Up!, I wasn’t sure I would ever use it because I tend to lean toward more traditional patterns and colors.  But, when I saw some cards made by fellow Demonstrators, Mary Deatherage at Stamps-n-Lingers and Amy Koenders at Stamp With Amy K., I decided to give it a try.  Make sure you click the links above to see their beautiful creations!

First, I adhered a piece of the Bohemian DSP (the dotted piece) to a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock with Multi-purpose Liquid Glue, then cut another piece of the Bohemian DSP and ran it through the Big Shot with the largest Banners Framelets Die.   The banner is also attached with glue.  The leaves came next.

I took a close up so that the embossing would show up a little better.  Each leaf was stamped with Versa Mark ink and sprinkled with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then heated with the Heat Tool until dry and embossed. I have never seen a blue leaf, but it actually looks pretty good on this card!  All of the leaves’ edges were softened up a little with my Bone Folder.  It gives the leaf a little shape-not just flat on the paper.

To keep the leaves from slipping all around, I added a dot or two of glue to the undersides, then made a bow with some Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine, tied it with a strand of Gold Metallic Thread and attached it to a Gold Basic Metal Button with a Glue Dot.  The button was then attached (glue dot) to another piece of Bohemian DSP (the Delightful Dijon patterned piece) that I first cut out with a square from the Squares Collection Framelets,.  The square was popped up with Dimensionals and then attached to the front of the card.  All of that layer was then attached to the Blackberry Bliss card base with Dimensionals.  The final touch was the sentiment, Thanks, from Expressions Natural Elements and also attached with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This set, Vintage Leaves, is a Photopolymer set, and is so easy to work with, especially when you pair it with the Leaflets Framelets Dies.  Bundle them and save 15%.  That is a great deal!

  • Card base is 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″
  • Bermuda Bay is 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″
  • Bohemian DSP is 4′ X 5 1/4″
  • Square measures 3″
