Spring Jar of Love for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Amy's Inkin' Krew Team Blog Hop

Spring, ah, spring!  A favorite time of year and our theme for this month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop.  So glad you have joined us today.  I used the Jar of Love Bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share with you.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love for Spring Cardiology by Jari

I started by tearing the edges of a panel of Whisper White card stock and then sponged the edges lightly with Crumb Cake ink and a Sponge Dauber.  Next, the water from Jar of Love was stamped onto a panel of Whisper White after I stamped it off once on a scrap piece of paper.  I just wanted the water to barely show.  The jar was stamped in Smoky Slate right over the water, then I cut it out using the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies.

I stamped several of the flower images from Jar of Love, using colors I think of in spring.  This is a two step stamp set, meaning for some of the images, you stamp twice.  I decided to use Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Wild Wasabi, Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake in the arrangement.  To achieve the two color look in the flowers, I stamped off the base of the flower before actually stamping it onto Whisper White, then came back with the second stamp full strength. The stems and leaves were stamped full strength.

Next, I adhered the jar onto the torn panel.   Then, I  stamped some stems in the water and a couple of greenery sprigs right onto the torn panel just above the jar top so they would peek out of the arrangement.  All of the flower heads and leaves were die cut and I began to put the spring arrangement together using Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.   I had some stray strands of Burlap Ribbon that had been pulled apart, so I put them together and tied a bow for the top of the jar.

I left the inside fairly plain for writing and added 3 left over small flowers to the right bottom with Liquid Glue.

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! products used to create my spring card and card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Now, I hope you’ll hop on over to see what Mary has created for our Spring themed Blog Hop today!

Dragonfly Dreams & Butterfly Basics for PCC#231

I used the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Butterfly Basics and Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up! to create my card for today.

Dragonfly

I’m playing along with the sketch at Paper Craft Crew #231.

PCC#231

I started by stamping the Whisper White art panel with the splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake ink. Because I did not want the Crumb cake too dark, I stamped it off onto a scrap paper a couple of times.  Then, I did the same thing with the honeycomb image from Butterfly Basics.  The fern image from Butterfly Basics was stamped in Wild Wasabi 3 times without re-inking.

Dragonfly  The body of the Dragonfly, from Dragonfly Dreams, was stamped in Basic Black, then the wings in Wisteria Wonder.  I die cut it with the matching die from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets Dies.  I added some Dimensionals to the back and looped a length of Gold Metallic Thread around a few times before popping it onto the art panel.  The banner sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams and stamped in Basic Black, then die cut with the banner from the Gift Card Envelope & Thinlets Dies.  My little flower was created with the long die from the Flourish Thinlets.  I cut the circles apart and glued two parts together to make a flower.  The center is one of the smaller White Perfect Accents.

Dragonfly

The inside sentiment is from Butterfly Basics and stamped in Wisteria Wonder.  Three more fern fronds were stamped in Wild Wasabi and a little strip of the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack card stock was repeated to finish it off!

Card stock cuts and products used in creating this card will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Window Shopping Birthday Card

I used the Window Shopping Bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create a Window Shopping Birthday Card to share today.

Window Shopping Birthday Card

My sketch was inspired by Sunday Stamps SSC #146.

SSC146

Window Shopping Birthday Card

I started with a panel from Party Animal DSP (polka dots) and adhered it to a panel of Pacific Point card stock with liquid glue.  I pulled out the Window Box Thinlets die (with the candles), placed it and a Stitched Shapes Framelits square die on a Whisper White panel and die cut them both out at the same time.  Crushed Curry, Pacific Point, Emerald Envy, and Tangerine Tango strips of card stock were adhered to the back of the candle cut out with dabs of liquid glue.  I love how those colors peek through the cut outs on the candles, don’t you?  The candles were then adhered to a little larger panel of Tangerine Tango.

Window Shopping Birthday Card

I made a sentiment banner with one of the sentiments in the Window Shopping stamp set and cut it out with the small banner die from the Popcorn Box Thinlets Dies.

Next, I chose the row of candles pattern from the Party Animal DSP, and adhered it to some Pacific Point card stock for a center band.  A length of Emerald Envy Baker’s Twine was then wrapped around it twice and up through a small hole I punched in the end of the banner.  I threaded one of the Party Animal party hat Embellishments and then tied a bow.

Window Shopping Birthday Card

I used the ink to rubber method for stamping the inside sentiment, using my Pacific Point and Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write markers.  For a finishing touch, I cut out two candles from the Party Animal  DSP and adhered them next to the sentiment with a little dab of liquid glue.

A complete list of card stock cuts and products used to create my card will be at the end of the post.

Christmas Pines for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Happy Stampers Blog Hop

The Happy Stampers are back again, and I am posting a Christmas card using the Christmas Pines stamp set and the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies. This is a wonderful set to bundle and save 10%.  There are 22 photopolymer stamps and 13 dies.  This bundle does not disappoint!

Christmas

And, if you follow us every week, you know it is a sketch challenge this week:
Happy Stampers sketch challenge

Have you started your Christmas cards yet?  I am so happy that I’ve been making them all along so that there is not a mad rush as we get closer to the holiday!  If you haven’t ordered the Christmas Pines bundle, you are really missing out.  I am in love with the pine cone die.  Doesn’t it look cool with this Copper Foil?

Christmas

The sentiment is also in the Christmas Pines stamp set.  I colored it with my Cherry Cobbler and Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write Markers before stamping it onto the Whisper White.  Notice I also used the new Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper can also be sponged to highlight the raised images.

Here is how I finished the inside:

Christmas

I stamped the pine bough stamp in Emerald Envy, then placed a couple of the bough die cuts from the Pretty Pines Thinlets dies on top.  I used liquid glue to adhere them.

Stampin’ Up! products used and card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.

Now, please hop forward to see what Kristi has created for us today.  If you have just started here, a list of all of the Happy Stampers is provided below so that you can see their beautiful creations, too.

Stampin’ Up! Flurry of Wishes for Fab Friday76

I got the inspiration for my card today from Fab Friday 76. Please head over there to check out all of the wonderful creations and you may want to play along, too.  Here is the sketch I was working with:

Fab Friday Logos-078

I used the Flurry of Wishes stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card:

Flurry of Wishes FabFri76 Card-iology by JariI began by stamping the Flurry Of Wishes snowflakes with Versa Mark ink onto Bermuda Bay and Whisper White Thick card stock and embossed them with Silver Embossing Powder.  I fussy cut the 2 larger snowflakes and punched out the smaller one for the center with my Snow Flurry Punch.  It will punch 2 snowflakes at a time–however, I only needed one for the center. The Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum was attached to a panel of Whisper White Thick cardstock with small dots of glue from my Fine Tip Glue Pen.  You have to be pretty particular with vellum as the adhesive will show through unless you disguise it with an embellishment over it or just place small dots of glue where the image on the paper will hide it. After it dried, I used Fast Fuse and attached to a little larger panel of Silver Foil.

Flurry of Wishes FabFri76 Card-iology by Jari

Next, I cut a length of Bermuda Bay sequin trim and taped it on the back of the Fancy Foil panel with some scotch tape.  Once I had it where I wanted it, I added a little drop or two of glue to keep it in place, then adhered a large Silver Metallic Foil Doily with Fast Fuse to the center of the card.  the snowflakes were popped onto the doily with Dimensionals and I added an Iced Rhinestone to the center.  The sentiment, also from Flurry of Wishes, was stamped on a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock with Versa Mark and then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and die cut with one of the banners from the Bitty Banners Framelits. It is also added with Dimensionals.  All of this layer was placed onto the Bermuda Bay card base using Dimensionals.

Flurry of Wishes Card-iology by Jari

I added a few loose sequins that had been topped with regular Rhinestones jewels and attached them with Glue Dots.  The envelope was lined with some of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum that was used on the card front, and the inside sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White Thick card stock with Versa Mark ink and Silver Embossing Powder.

Card stock cuts will be at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Hi, and welcome again to our Happy Stampers Thursday Blog Hop!  We are all so excited to have you join us for our sketch challenge:

12043085_1271122592914313_575455954017426796_nIt’s always fun to see how everyone interprets the  challenge, whether it’s a sketch or color one.  If you have been following us for a while, you may have noticed that we alternate each week between sketch and color challenges.  This week, I wanted to pull out one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets, Sheltering Tree.  The set is so versatile for any season and that is what makes it really appealing.

Sheltering Tree Card-iology by Jari

My card is truly very simple to make.  I used Whisper White Craft ink and Early Expresso ink on Smoky Slate Card Stock to give it an extra wintery look. The sentiment is from the Happy Scenes stamp set.

Sheltering Tree Card-iology by Jari

I took a snowflake and dabbed it onto my Versa Mark pad, then sprinkled Heat and Stick powder onto it and heated it with my Heat Tool until a little glossy.  Then, I added Silver Stampin’ Glitter and heated a little more till it dried. For a little extra shimmer, I used Silver Cording to wrap around the card twice and then tied a bow through the center of the snowflake.  Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels completed the front.  Now on to the inside:

Sheltering Tree Card-iology by Jari

The snowflake stamp from Sheltering Tree was stamped with Whisper White Craft ink and the sentiment, also from Happy Scenes, was stamped with Early Expresso ink onto a panel of Smoky Slate cardstock.  The Silver Foil snowflakes were cut out with the snowflake die from the Square Pillowbox Thinlits Dies.

Card cuts and tips will be at the end of my post.  Now, I hope you are ready to hop around to see what the talented Kristi Gray has designed for us.

Stampin’ Up! Oh What Fun Christmas Card

Oh What Fun Card-iology by Jari

Today’s quick and easy card is from Stampin’ Up! Oh What Fun stamp set and Home For Christmas Designer Series paper.

My inspiration for the design of the card is from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 287  Make sure you head over there to see all of the other wonderful ideas from this sketch.

Sometimes I think people are reluctant to try card-making because they feel that it takes too much time, or the design is too complicated.  So, today calls for a quick and easy card!

First, I cut a piece of Home for Christmas DSP and dry embossed it with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder or TIEF for short!  Even though the paper had little white dots that look like snow, I thought the textured snowflakes would be a nice addition to the simple card. Then I cut out a circle of the Home for Christmas DSP with a circle from the Circles Framelits dies and squared off the right side and the bottom with my Stampin’ TrimmerIt’s attached to the snowy background with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This new layer was glued to the red striped piece from the Brights Collection DSP.  I cut a length of Real Red 1/4″ cotton ribbon and wrapped it around this layer and tied a bow, then popped it onto the Real Red card base with Dimensionals.  Santa was fussy cut from the Home for the Holidays DSP and attached with Dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped onto Real Red with Versa Mark ink and sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, then heated with my Heat Tool.  Once it cooled and dried, I ran it through the Big Shot with a Bitty Banners Framelit.  I also cut a Whisper White strip with the same Framelit to frame the red piece, glued them together, then popped it up with Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment, also from the Oh What Fun stamp set was stamped in Basic Black.  I added a little strip of the stripe DSP to the very bottom of the Whisper White piece for a little accent.
