Stampin’ Up! A Little Wild About You

I used the A Little Wild stamp set bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create the CAS (clean and simple) card I am sharing with you today.

The inspiration for my CAS sketch is from CAS(E) This Sketch #231.  I hope you’ll check out what the designers have created and even play along with this challenge.

CAS(E) this sketch #231

To me, a clean and simple card sketch is probably the hardest to create.  And, I am not really sure why, because they are meant to be just clean and simple!  But this stamp set, A Little Wild, seemed to be perfect for the sketch.  I started by stamping the front facing part of the lion image in Basic Black Archival ink onto a panel of water color paper.  Each of the three animal stamps in the set have the front and the back of the animal so that it can be cut out and folded to create a little card.  See page 108 in the Annual Catalog.

Then, using my Aqua Painter and Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Early Expresso inks, colored him in.  I used the Little Loves Framelits Die to cut him out, and finished cutting the area around the top of his head with my Paper Snips since he was not going to be folded for a little gift card.

I cut out a square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies in Whisper White, then adhered it to a panel of Pick a Pattern Designer Series paper cut into a scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits.  A banner was cut from another panel of the Pick a Pattern DSP and I dry fitted where I wanted the banner and lion panel to be placed. Then, I removed them and stamped the sentiment in Early Expresso ink onto a panel of Whisper White.  The Whisper White panel was adhered to a panel of Early Expresso then the banner was added with some liquid glue.  I popped the lion on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then onto the card front with more dimensionals.  A Crushed Curry Enamel Shape Heart finished off the front.

I chose a sentiment from the Just Add Text stamp set and used Early Expresso ink.  A strip of the Pick a Pattern DSP used for the banner in the front was added to the bottom of the inside panel, then adhered to the card base with liquid glue. Enjoy!

A complete list of supplies and card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.
