Stampin’ Up! At Home With You for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Hop

Amy's Inkin' Krew Team Blog Hop

Welcome to our Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Fall Frenzy Team Blog Hop for August.  I used the At Home With You Bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create the card I am sharing with you today.

I have to admit, I don’t think I have ever made a card without a sentiment on the front, so this one is a first for me!  I saw a card on Pinterest that got my attention (see it here) with creating double doors with the At Home With You Bundle, so I decided to try one myself.  With all of the extras on the front, I decided a sentiment would be just too much.  So, what do you think?

I started by dry embossing a Pear Pizzaz panel with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I used a sponge dauber and some Soft Suede ink to create some interest on the brick wall.  Then, I matted it with a panel of Soft Suede .  Two doors were stamped in Basic Black Archival ink onto some Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and cut out with the matching At Home Framelits Dies.  Each door window was also die cut at the same time.  The doors were adhered together with some liquid glue and a panel of So Saffron card stock was added to the back to peek through. Then I adhered the doors to the embossed panel with liquid glue.

I stamped the sunflower and pumpkin stamp images onto water color paper with Basic Black Archival ink and used my Aqua Painters to color them in with Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive inks.  Then,  I stamped the lanterns on more watercolor paper and colored them in with Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie inks.  When the flowers and lanterns were dry, I die cut them with the corresponding dies from the bundle, then layered everything onto the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is from the Paisleys and Posies stamp set and was stamped on Whisper White with more Soft Suede ink.  That panel was adhered to a panel of Pear Pizzaz and added to the Soft Suede base with liquid glue.

Card stock cuts and stamping supplies needed to create the card will be at the end of my post.

I love this Jari! Definitely doesn’t need a sentiment, the one that you’ve used inside works perfectly for it. Great colors, perfect for fall! 🙂

Thanks, it does seem weird, though! 🙂

I like it just the way it is. An outside-of-the-card sentiment is not necessary. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for your comment. It did seem out of my comfort zone, but we all need to step out sometimes, right?!

I was just thinking the other day that I needed a stamp/die for a front door that was large enough. Hadn’t paid any attention to this one for some reason. But, how did you do the double doors so that the handles were both in the middle?

    • Jari Francis | | Reply

Hi Mary, I realized I forgot to add that to the post! I covered over the door handles with tape, stamped the rest of the door, then used a marker and colored in the door handle and stamped it again in the correct spot. I then used the small tip of the marker to fix any area that was not stamped dark enough! I will go back and add that to my post. Thanks!

thanks for clarifying that. Just couldn’t figure it out.
