Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Sympathy for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome once again to our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  I’m using the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create the card I’m sharing today.  I decided to use this as an encouragement card rather than a sympathy card by featuring just one of the sentiments.  Take a look….

And, here is our sketch:

I stepped out of my comfort zone a little with this card today!  I wasn’t sure about the new In-Color, Fresh Fig, but decided to try it paired with Old Olive, and I really do like it.  Hope you like it, too!

First, I stamped the sentiment from Heartfelt Sympathy in Versa Mark ink onto a panel of Whisper White card stock. Then, I sprinkled it with Copper Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Once cooled, I used my Blender Pen with a small amount of Old Olive ink and colored over and around the leaf images.

Next, I stamped four small flowers from Birthday Blooms in Fresh Fig ink, fussy cut them with my Paper Snips, and colored in the centers with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.  My sentiment panel was die cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and then matted with a little larger scalloped oval in Copper Foil card stock.

I layered a panel of the new Color Theory Designer Series Paper (available June 1st) onto a panel of Old Olive, then adhered them to my Fresh Fig card stock base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A little creative license was then taken with the sketch, as I decided to use the curvy Swirly Scribbles Thinlets die behind my sentiment panel.  I die cut a piece of Fresh Fig card stock and trimmed it to fit the front of the card.  It was adhered with little dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Finally, the flowers were adhered and the sentiment panel was popped on with dimensionals.

My inside sentiment was chosen from You’ve Got This, and was also heat embossed with Copper Emboss Powder. The leaves were another image from Heartfelt Sympathy, and I used the same technique with my Blender Pen.  The fourth flower I stamped earlier was then adhered with some liquid glue.  For the bottom of my sentiment panel, I added a left over strip of the Color Theory DSP used on the front of my card.

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! supplies and card stock cuts for creating my card will be at the end of the post.

Your card really captured my eye. I love the gradation of the Old Olive DSP. The fact that you used the die from Swirly Scribbles added interest for me. That’s a die set that is underused by me. Fussy cutting those little flowers could not have been an easy task. It almost seems like there is a die that might work from Succulent Framelits. I have a feeling I’ll be CASEing this card once I get my supplies in June.
