Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Inkin’ Thursday, everyone!  I am sharing a card created with one of the new stamps sets called Happy Birthday Gorgeous, from the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that goes live today!  Can you believe it is June 1st?  I know there are a lot of happy people out there who have been waiting (not so patiently, I bet) to place an order.  So glad you joined us, we are all excited, too!

Our challenge this week was to use the following colors:

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

The inspiration for my sketch is from Hand Stamped Sentiments HSS #265

Hand Stamped Sentiments #265

My card base is Old Olive with a panel of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper adhered to the left side with some liquid glue.  Aren’t you glad you can order this paper today?  Ordering begins after 12:00 Mountain Time.  Yay!

I stamped a panel of Whisper White card stock with the splatter stamp from Touches of Texture in Old Olive ink.  I wanted it to be a subtle color, so I stamped off twice on scrap paper.

Next, I stamped the flower pods and stems in Rich Razzleberry, then the leaves in Old Olive. The flowers in Happy Birthday Gorgeous are 2-step stamps, so I stamped first in Rich Razzleberry.  The second stamping was in Pool Party that had been stamped off twice.  I fussy cut all of the flower heads and set them aside.  Then, I inked up the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry and stamped it on the bottom of my art panel.  The art panel was framed with a panel of Old Olive card stock

The small flowers were adhered to the art panel with some liquid glue, and then the larger ones added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Several  Pearls were added for a little bling, and the whole art panel popped onto the front with Dimensionals.

My original plan was to add the Happy Birthday sentiment to the front of the card, but I wasn’t happy with that, so I decided to add it and some of the flowers to the inside.

A complete list of supplies as well as card stock cuts for my Happy Birthday Gorgeous birthday card will be at the end of the post.

Hi Jari, I just made one of these cards. It’s so pretty! I love it! I did want to mention that one of your card cuts should be adjusted – the Old Olive front panel should be 3-1/4 x 4-5/8 instead of 2-1/4. Just thought you might like to know. I cut all the pieces out and then realized that the olive one needed another inch on the width. I love your work. thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Thanks, Karen, I will make that adjustment! So glad you let me know!
