Sharing Kindness for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

We’re here with another sketch challenge, so glad you are joining the hop!  My share today uses several Stampin’ Up! products and all of them combine to make the whole, so I could not give it a title with a stamp set name.  That is why I chose Sharing Kindness.  You’ll see what  I mean shortly!

Here is our sketch:

Happy Stampers Sketch 8/4/16

Sharing Kindness

Last week when Sandi shared her butterfly (see it here) made from the flower die from Sunshine Wishes, it made me think I could also use it for a larger flower head, and that’s just what I did!  I actually die cut 3 of the flower images and cut off the stems and played around until I had the shape I wanted.

Sharing Kindness

I glued the three Daffodil Deight pieces together in the middle with liquid glue, then I used dies from the Botanical Builders Die set for the flower centers in Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder.  I curled them a little so that they would have some dimension and then popped them onto the center with dimensionals.

Sharing Kindness

I pulled out the flower image from Flower Shop that most resembled the larger flower and stamped 2 onto some Watermelon Wonder card stock, then punched them out with the Pansy Punch.  I also curled them a little and added a Daffodil Delight Enamel Shape to the centers.   The banner sentiment is from Thoughtful Branches (only available this month!).  I stamped it in Versa Mark ink and dusted it with Copper Embossing Powder, then heat embossed it.  I used the Banner Triple Punch to cut the one end of the Crumb Cake panel.
The layers are Affectionately Yours and Cucumber Crush and are popped onto the Night Of Navy base with dimensionals.

Sharing Kindness

I left the inside plain for plenty of room for writing, just added some of the Affectionately Yours DSP to the bottom of the Crumb Cake panel.

Stampin' Up! Sharing Kindness by Cardiology by Jari 016

The final touch was to decorate the envelope with some more of the Affectionately Yours DSP.

Card stock cuts and products used will be at the end of my post.

Now, time to hop on over to Kristi Gray’s blog to see what she has created for our sketch challenge today!

Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Branches Christmas Card

How about a Thoughtful Branches Christmas Card for the first day you can order the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and/or bundle?  I do love the versatility of this set and with the addition of the Beatutiful Branches Framelits Dies, how can you go wrong?!!

Thoughtful Branches Christmas

My color inspiration is from Fab Friday92

FabFri-001

The inspiration for my sketch is from the Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge, SSC132.  Why not play along, too?

SSC132

My Thoughtful Branches Christmas Card came together actually very quickly.  I started by stamping the ground image in Soft Suede that I stamped off once, then stamped the tree trunk in Soft Suede onto a panel of Very Vanilla. I added the “needles” in Garden Green.  I found a small bird on the Tree Builder Punch and punched it out in Cherry Cobbler, then added some details and glued it near the base of the tree.

Thoughtful Branches Christmas

I used my Layering Ovals Dies to cut the Very Vanilla oval, then backed it in Cherry Cobbler with a Scalloped Die from the same set.  I made a star out of Gold Foil using the die from my Mini Treatbag Thinlets Dies and popped it onto the tree with a small dimensional piece.  I cut two lengths of the 5/8″ Burlap ribbon, added Tear & Tape Adhesive and adhered it to the striped This Christmas Specialty DSP that I had earlier attached to a panel of Very Vanilla stock with liquid glue.

Thoughtful Branches Christmas

I stamped the Christmas sentiment from the Time of Year Host Set in Cherry Cobbler onto a panel of Very Vanilla and die cut it with the corresponding banner die from Bunch of Banners Framelits. Then, popped it onto the front with one glue dot on the end attached to the art piece and dimensionals on the other half. This whole panel was then added to the Garden Green card base with dimensionals.

Thoughtful Branches Christmas

I chose a sentiment from Better Together and stamped it in Cherry Cobbler, then added a narrow strip of the This Christmas Speciallty DSP  to the bottom.

Hope you like this Thoughtful Branches Christmas Card, and it will encourage you to order this stamp set bundle today!

Stampin’ Up! Swirly Bird Kite

Today’s  clean and simple card is made with the Kite images from the Swirly Bird stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I have seen several cards using the Kite in this set and have been wanting to try it myself.

Kite

My sketch inspiration came from Case This Sketch, CTS #183.  Please make sure you take a look at all of the inspiration over there.

CTS 183 Kite

Kite

I started by stamping the Kite images in Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point onto some Whisper White thick card stock.  Whenever I am going to fussy cut an image, the thick card stock holds up much better for me.  I used the “swoosh” image from Sheltering Tree and inked some bright colors for the sky background.  They are in order from top down:  Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral.

Kite

The Thinking of You sentiment is also from Sheltering Tree, and is stamped onto the front of the Whisper White panel in Pacific Point ink.  I decided where I wanted each Kite to go and then stamped the kite strings in Pacific Point.  The tails are stamped in Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay.  Then each Kite was added to the front with dimensionals.  I adhered the art piece to a panel of Bermuda Bay with liquid glue, then popped that panel onto the Pacific Point card base with dimensionals.

Kite

For the inside, I chose a sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set and stamped it in Pacific Point, then added another Kite stamped in Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point inks.

Card Stock Cuts in inches and a list of Stampin’ Up! products used will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Bear Hugs Birthday

I’m using Bear Hugs from Stampin’ Up! for my birthday card for today.  This is another great stamp set that coordinates with  the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies.  Doesn’t this bear look awesome?  And no fussy cutting…..

Bear Hugs

I recently read about a boy with terminal cancer who only wants to receive birthday cards for his 13th birthday in August. Last week when my grandsons were here, two of them made birthday cards to send him and I wanted to make one, too.  So, I thought Bear Hugs would be a fun set to use.

I used the sketch over at Paper Craft Crew for my design inspiration.  Pop over there to see what it’s all about!

PCC 204

I started by stamping the bear image and derby hat from Bear Hugs in Soft Suede onto a panel of Kraft card stock and the bow tie in Tempting Turquoise onto Tempting Turquoise, then die cut them with the coordinating dies.  The bow tie is glued to the bear with liquid glue.

Bear Hugs

Next, I dry embosssed a panel of Tempting Turquoise in the Lucky Stars TIEF and then adhered a strip of the striped Festive Birthday DSP to the side of the card with liquid glue.  This panel was then popped onto my Crushed Curry card stock base with dimensionals.  I stamped the banner and sentiment from Thoughtful Banners in Crushed Curry onto Whisper White and used the Duet Banner Punch (bundle and save 10%) to cut it out.

Bear Hugs

I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to make 3 balloons from more of the Festive Birthday DSP and tied some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine to each balloon.  They are secured to the backs with dimensionals.  I popped on the bear and his hat with dimensionals and folded his arms up so he would not look so flat, then added the banner also with dimensionals.  The balloon strings were pulled taut and knotted, then added with a glue dot.  For a little bling, I added the Tempting Turquoise Enamel Shapes.

Bear Hugs

I chose the sentiment for the inside from Better Together.  Don’t you just love this font?  It is in Tempting Turquoise onto Whisper White that was matted with Tempting Turquoise card stock before gluing to the card base.  It is finished off with a left over strip from the Festive Birthday DSP.

I also added some of the Festive Birthday DSP to the flap of the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Cupcake

How about a Sweet Cupcake for a birthday?  Sounds delicious, right?  This one does look almost yummy enough to eat, but hold out for a real one, say from Gigi’s!  All kidding aside, my share today is a birthday card using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and the fun Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up! ( Bundle and save 10%).

Sweet Cupcake

The sketch idea came from The Paper Players Challenge #305.  I turned it around for my card, though!

Paper Players

And, the birthday theme is from Can You Case It #130, Birthday Challenge Plus

Birthday challenge plus

I hope you will head over to both of those sites and check out the designers and those playing along for some great inspiration!

Sweet Cupcake

It is hard to resist all of the new stamp sets and Framelits or Thinlets that bundle with them.  They make card making so easy and fun!  Sweet Cupcake is a 3-step stamp for the cupcake top and the paper liner.  For my cupcake, I stamped Flirty Flamingo first, then Blushing Bride, and Pink Pirouette last.  It is difficult to see, but I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the lighter areas and also on the Flirty Flamingo candle.

The cupcake liner was stamped first in Soft Suede, then in Crumb Cake and finally in Sahara Sand. I used the Cupcake Cutout Framelits to die cut them all and set them aside to build the rest of the card.

Sweet Cupcake

My card base is Blushing Bride.  I layered a panel of Crumb Cake and a panel of Soft Suede that was dry embossed with the Large Polka Dot TIEF on top, then added the layers under the cupcake.  They are Whisper White and Soft Suede from the Neutrals DSP stack. All of those layers are adhered with glue so I could pop up all of the other elements with dimensionals.

Sweet Cupcake

One look at the Sweet Cupcake should be enough to convince you that it is sweet, but I love the Sweet die found in the Cupcake Cutouts die set, so I cut it out using some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The banner is also included in the die set-don’t you like the way it can be folded to give the 3-D effect?  I added a heart from the Gift Card Envelope and Trim Thinlets, also using the Glimmer paper.  The other sentiments are from Thoughtful Banners.

Sweet Cupcake

The inside sentiment is from Birthday Blossoms and is stamped in Soft Suede.  It’s hard to see in the photo, but I added another Glimmer heart and on the bottom, another die cut from the Cupcake Cutouts set also in Glimmer paper.

Card stock cuts in inches and Stampin’ Up! products used will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Flourish for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

I am using the Flourish Thinlets Dies and the Flourishing Phrases stamp set for our color challenge at the Happy Stampers Blog Hop this week.  Doesn’t every card need a little “Flourish” now and then?

We are using these colors:

Flourish for Happy Stampers
Flourish

At first glance, I thought I would not really like these colors together, but was pleasantly surprised once I began putting them together.  The Flourish Thinlets dies are all fun to work with, especially the flourish die I used for the front of the card.  I used Old Olive for it, and contemplated adding some Delightful Dijon for the flowers, but really liked it better as one color.

Flourish

I added a Delicate White Doily to the front of the Serene Scenery DSP, then adhered that panel to a panel of Pool Party with glue.  Next, I cut a length of Delightful Dijon 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon and attached it to the front (and around the back) with 2 strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.  I added the Old Olive flourish cut out with my fine tip glue pen, but did not glue it down completely so that it was not too flat.

Flourish

The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, the companion stamp set to the Flourish Thinlets (bundle it and save 10%).  I stamped it in Delightful Dijon and then die cut it with an oval die from the Layering Ovals Collection.  I used a little larger scalloped oval die from the same set to frame it in Old Olive.

Flourish

For the inside, I stamped the flourish in Old Olive and the sentiment in Delightul Dijon.  Both images are in the Flourishing Phrases set.  The Whisper White art panel is adhered to a panel of Pool Party, then added to the Old Olive card base with liquid glue.

Card stock cuts in inches and a complete list of products will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Branches Bundle

Today’s share is from Thoughtful Branches, the new limited time only stamp set bundle, available to you beginning August 2, 2016.

Thoughtful Branches

I’m also playing along with the TFIFc65.  I used the dies from the Thoughtful Branches bundle for my cutting.

TGIF JULY 2016 Challenges-005

I have actually had this bundle a few days now and have been dying to try it out, but I had 4 grandsons visiting last week and stamping got put on the back burner!  I will really miss them, though…….

Thoughtful Branches

When you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, one of the extra perks is that we can purchase many stamp sets ahead of our customers-and this one just happens to fall into that category.  I have been advertising the Thougthful Branches bundle for a few weeks now, and you have probably seen some samples on Pinterest-don’t you just love this set?   Until I received mine, I did not realize that I could create a hydrangea with it.

I actually die cut two flower tops, one in Elegant Eggplant and one in Perfect Plum, because that is kind of what mine look like when they bloom.  I offset the Elegant Eggplant onto the Perfect Plum when gluing together and once dry, I added Clear Wink of Stella all over the top, then placed a few Pearls Basic Jewels around the flower. The leaves are die cut in Wild Wasabi.

Thoughtful Branches

The Whisper White panel was dry embossed with the Brick Wall TIEF, then glued to the Elegant Eggplant card base.  I cut a narrow panel of Perfect Plum from the Regals DSP stack and framed it with a little larger panel of Perfect Plum, then glued down my hydrangea and leaves to it.  I wrapped a length of Elegant Eggplant Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel and tied a bow on the stem before popping this panel onto the front with dimensionals.

I chose a sentiment from the Thoughtful Branches set and stamped it in Versa Mark on to Elegant Eggplant, dusted it with White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it.  Once it cooled, I used the die from the Rose Garden Thinlets set to cut it out.  It is added to the front with dimensionals.

Thoughtful Branches

I really wanted to use 2 flowers on the front of my card, so I originally die cut two of each color, but when I decided it wouldn’t work, I set them aside to add to the inside.  They also have been enhanced with Clear Wink of Stella, though I do not think you can tell from this angle.  The sentiment is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink.

Make sure you add Thoughtful Branches to your wish list!  Ordering is only a few days away!

A complete product list is at the end of this post, as well as card stock cuts in inches.

Falling Flowers for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

My share for our hop today is from Falling Flowers from Stampin’ Up!

Falling Flowers

We are working with this sketch:

Happy Stampers sketch challenge

Falling Flowers is another great stamp set you can bundle with the May Flowers Framelits dies and save 10%.

Falling Flowers

I don’t do a lot of water coloring, but I decided to do it with the flower images from Falling Flowers.  I stamped the flowers with my black Stazon ink, then used my Aqua Painter with Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Peekaboo Peach inks.  After they were all dry, I came back with my Black Stampin’ Write Marker and added some details to the centers of the flowers.

Falling Flowers

The Old Olive card base was stamped with the vine image from the set in Old Olive ink, then I placed the front in my Brick Wall Textured Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot.  My flower panel is framed in Flirty Flamingo and adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue. I used a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and stamped it onto a panel of Whisper White, then die cut it with the smallest Banners Framelit Dies. I trimmed the length a little so that the Flirty Flamingo banner would peek out on either end.  It was popped onto the front with dimensionals.  To complete the card, I added 3 Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Stampin’ Up! Weather Together

My share for today is from Weather Together, one of the new Stampin’ Up! stamp sets/bundles.  I am loving all of the new bundles, not only because there is a 10% discount when you bundle, but because of all of the awesome thinlets, framelets and punches that help make your card extra special and, easy to put together!

Weather Together

First, I added a strip of Sof Sky Subtles DSP to the top of a Whisper White panel with glue, then I stamped the raindrop images from Weather Together in Soft Sky onto the Whisper White.  I framed this panel with a panel of Calypso Coral using liquid glue to attach them.

Weather Together

Next, I stamped the umbrella top in Calypso Coral and the handle in Early Expresso ink onto a panel of Whisper White thick card stock and die cut them using the Umbrella Weather Framelits.  I used a little glue to adhere the handle to the back of the umbrella top, then attached the whole piece to the front of the card with dimensionals.

I stamped some clouds in Soft Sky and used the matching Framelits die to cut them out.  They are added to the front with dimensionals.

Weather Together

The sentiment is also found in the Weather Together set and is stamped in Early Expresso onto a panel of Soft Sky, then die cut with the banner from the Large Numbers Framelits die set.  To finish off the front, I added a small bow using the Calypso Coral baker’s twine and the silver heart from my Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Weather Together

For the inside, I added more of the Soft Sky DSP to the top and bottom of the Whisper White panel, then stamped another umbrella  in Calypso Coral and Early Expresso inks. ( I used a different image from the set for the handle). The sentiment is  also stamped in Early Expresso.

Don’t you love Weather Together?  Lots of fun images and sentiments plus die cuts!!  Check it out on page 55 of the Annual catalog.

Flourishing Phrases for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

Flourishing Phrases is my pick for today’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop color challenge.  Wow, there are 18 Flourishing Phrases stamps and 10 Flourish Thinlets Dies in this new bundle package!

Here are our colors:

Happy Stampers Color Challenge

And, here is what I created:

Flourishing Phrases

I started by stamping the floral images from Flourishing Phrases in Cucumber Crush onto a panel of Whisper White then, colored in the flowers with my Flirty Flamingo marker.  I inked up the sentiment in Basic Black and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement in the bottom corner.

Next, I stamped the large flower image from Flourishing Phrases in Flirty Flamingo onto a panel of Whisper White and fussy cut it. Then, I moved on to the Flourish Thinlets and die cut the larger flower in Flirty Flamingo, glued it to the fussy cut flower and added a Daffodil Delight Enamel.  Next, I die cut the leaves in Cucumber crush and glued them to the back of the flower.

I pulled out some Cucumber Crush 5/8 ” Mini Striped Ribbon and some Flirty Flamingo 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon and layered them on the card using Tear and Tape Adhesive.  The flower and leaves were added using dimensionals.  The whole art panel was then popped onto a panel of Cucumber Crush with dimensionals. My Cucumber Crush panel was attached to the Flirty Flamingo base with liquid glue.  To add a little more Daffodil Delight for our challenge, I created a butterfly using one of the small butterfly images from Papillon Potpourri.

I kept the inside simple and added a strip of Flirty Flamingo that was die cut from one more of the Flourish Thinlets.

Card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of the post.
