Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Wings for the Happy Stampers Hop

My share for  today is a Playful Palette Watercolor Wings card, with lots of help from some other favorites from Stampin’ Up!

Playful Palette Watercolor Wings

We’re working with a color challenge with a couple of the new In Colors thrown into the mix:

June 16

As you can see, I am using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets again!  They are so versatile, and I am so glad I purchased the bundle!

Playful Palette Watercolor Wings

I used Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride on my butterfly from Watercolor Wings.  My swirly circles are die cut in those same colors of card stock.  I used my Botanical Builder Framelits to cut out Emerald Envy leaves and a Sweet Sugarplum flower and 2 Blushing Bride flowers.  I sponged the edges of my flowers with Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride inks.

Playful Palette Watercolor Wings

My Sweet Sugarplum banner is punched with the new Duet Banner punch and stamped with a sentiment from Thoughtful Banners, also a new stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wings by Cardiology by Jari 010

For the inside of my Playful Palette Watercolor Wings card, I chose a sentiment from another favorite stamp set, Suite Sayings.  It is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The bottom has a strip of the Playful Palette DSP that is also on the front of the card.  Card stock cuts are at the end of my post.

Now, head on over to see what wonderful creation Kristi has done for us.  We all love to hear from you, too, so drop us a comment on your way around.

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Wings

Hi Stampers!  It’s Saturday, YEA!   I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far and have some stamping time planned!  My share for today is using Watercolor Wings from Stampin’ Up!

Watercolor Wings

Watercolor Wings is such a fun stamp set to use because you can create thousands of variations of your butterfly!  And, you have 3 different butterfly stamps in there.  Two of them are 3 step stamping if you choose.  And, you can purchase the bundle of the stamp set and the Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies at a !5 % discount until May 31st.  So get busy and order the bundle!

Watercolor Wings

The largest butterfly image from Watercolor Wings was stamped off once using Mint Macaron ink, then the second image in full strength Mint Macaron, and the last was stamped in Watermelon Wonder on a panel of Whisper White.  I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits Die to cut out the butterfly.  Then, the body was stamped  in Crumb Cake ink.  I punched out a tag of Mint Macaron with my Scalloped Tag Topper punch and stamped some more images from the Watercolor Wings set, including the antennae for the butterfly. The Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim (retiring) is cinched together with some Linen Thread.

My card base is Mint Macaron, the striped panel is Mint Macaron 2015-2917 In Colors Envelope paper (retiring) and the polka dot is from the 2015-17 In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks.  I added part of a Tea Lace Paper Doily (retiring) and some 1 1/4 ” Burlap Ribbon (retiring) to the front before attaching the tag with dimensionals.

Watercolor Wings

I used the smallest butterfly from Watercolor Wings for the inside, stamping it in Watermelon Wonder ink, and the body and antenna in Crumb Cake.  The dots are stamped in Mint Macaron.

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Wings for Happy Stampers Blog Hop

My share for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop is from Watercolor Wings.

Watercolor Wings

Today we are working with a color challenge:

I have not used Watercolor Wings in a while, and it was fun to pull it back out and reacquaint myself with it.  I played around with the color layers for the butterfly (there are 3) until I decided on the sequence I wanted.  I think that is a fun option with this stamp set

Watercolor Wings

Steps to creating the card:

* Dry emboss the Soft Suede card base with the Brick Wall TIEF

* Cut a banner using the next to the largest Banners Framelits (I made it a little longer by only running the v shaped end through the Big Shot).  Attach it to the base with glue or snail-your preference.

* Using the largest butterfly images from Watercolor Wings, stamp the flat butterfly stamp in Pool Party first, then on top of that, stamp the butterfly with the shaded wings in Soft Suede ink that is stamped off once; and last, stamp the final butterfly on top using Soft Suede full strength.  Die cut with the die from Bold Butterfly Thinlets and stamp on the body with Soft Suede.  I used Whisper White Thick paper because I thought the butterfly would stand out a little nicer.

* Using a square panel of Whisper White card stock, make a background image with other stamps in the set with Pool Party and Mossy Meadow, stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

* Cut a length of Gold thread and attach it to the dimensional under the butterfly and place on the art piece, then stamp the butterfly’s antenna.

*Frame the art work with a panel of Mossy Meadow using liquid glue or snail; attach to the front of the card with dimensionals

I used the same images on the inside as on the front, but decided to use the smallest butterfly, and of course the sentiment is one from Watercolor Wings, too.

The final touches to the envelope include more of the DSP used on the front of the card with my Envelope Liners Framelets Dies.

Card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.
