Vintage Leaves Step it Up Notecards

I created a couple of quick and easy note cards for today’s share using the Vintage Leaves stamp set from Stampin’ Up! My first card is CAS (clean and simple) and the second is a stepped up version of the same card.  Let me know what you think!

Vintage Leaves

I stamped the leaf images from Vintage Leaves, in Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Delightful Dijon directly onto the Whisper White note card. The sentiment, from Acorny Thank You, is also stamped in Dellightful Dijon in the right corner.  A length of Linen Thread was wrapped around the card front a couple of times and then I tied a small bow.  A Glue Dot was rolled a little and used to keep the bow in place.

Now for my stepped up version:

Vintage Leaves

I dry embossed a panel of Whisper White in the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and popped it onto the front of the Whisper White Note Card.  Next, I stamped the leaves in Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Delightful Dijon onto a panel of Whisper White.  I pulled out my Leaflets Framelits and die cut the leaves.  Then, I cut a length of Delightful Dijon and Rich Razzleberry 3/8″ Ribbon and a length of Gold Sequin Trim to attach to the leaves with some Gold Baker’s Twine.  The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive onto a panel of Whisper White and then die cut with the banner die from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlets.  I made a second banner with Old Olive card stock and glued the two together with liquid glue.  They are popped onto the front with dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! supplies for these cards can be found at the end of the post.

Craft Project Central Project

“Basket of Wishes” Scraplings!

Craft Project Central

There are several interpretations of “scraplings”, and in this tutorial a scrapling is a card (or tag or any other creation) that gets its start from a scrap of cardstock or paper . . . or both!  Although the cards in this tutorial get their start from full sizes of cardstock and are presented with exact measurements, the intention is that you will feel inspired to create cards and tags of all shapes and sizes from your stash of scraps.  When you need to create a quick card but the scraps all seem too small, think outside the box and use them to create a non-standard sized card.  The good news is that scraplings should fit any size (mailable) envelope that you have on hand, and the recipient will enjoy the odd size/shape of the card!  This tutorial includes instructions for making a pocket holder that has been custom-designed to perfectly hold the set of “scraplings”.  Another thing to love about this tutorial is that it features one set of designer paper and (mostly) one stamp set.

If you would like to see the complete project, and learn how to make it, you’ll want to subscribe for the month of October. With your subscription, you’ll get illustrated, step-by-step instructions for 10 wonderful projects for only $10! You can find out how to gain access to a bonus eleventh project over at Craft Project Central.

Stampin’ Up! Jar of Love Fall Treat Box

I have a fun little treat box to share with you today.  Since it is October 1st, I thought it fitting to begin the month with something more fall-ish.  Even though I have seen very little fall weather, I know someone reading this is probably experiencing it!  And, I hope enjoying it!

This month is just the beginning of a season of treat giving, too.  All of the store aisles are packed with Halloween candies, then there will be all of the fall flavors of Thanksgiving and of course, all of the cookies, candies, and homemade deliciousness of Christmas .  So, a little treat box to hold all of these goodies is in order, or maybe three!

treat box

This treat box is so easy to make!  I used Kraft card stock for the actual box.  The details on the size and score lines are at the end of the post.  I used the Acorny Thank You stamp set for the acorns.  They are stamped in Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  I punched them out with the Acorn Builder Punch.  The leaves are stamped with the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  I used Soft Suede ink on Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie card stock and die cut them with the Leaflets Framelits.

treat box

I pulled out the largest jar from Jar of Love and stamped it in Soft Suede ink onto my Kraft card stock, then die cut the center with Everyday Jars Framelits.  The jar lid was also stamped with Soft Suede and die cut.  I popped the lid onto the treat box with dimensionals, then added the acorn/leaf bundle with some glue dots.  A length of Gold Baker’s Twine was tied into a bow and also added with a glue dot.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves for the first day of Autumn

Well, it is official, fall is finally here!  And so, to usher in the season, I have created a card from the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves set

Vintage Leaves Card-iology by Jari

I started by stamping several of the leaves from the Vintage Leaves set in Delightful Dijon onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Notice that some of the leaves in the background were stamped off first.  I wanted some of the leaves to be darker than others.  Next, I stamped the same leaf patterns onto Blackberry Bliss and Delightful Dijon in the same colors of ink and used the Leaflets Framelits Dies to cut them out.

For the sentiment, I chose a stamp from the For All Things set, but decided to use only a part of it.  I used some tape to cover the part I did not want, then inked it up, took off the piece of tape, then stamped onto a small piece of Very Vanilla.  I used the Banner Punch to cut it out-then punched a piece of Blackberry Bliss to fit behind it.  I positioned the punched leaves where I wanted them and attached them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The stamped leaf image was attached to a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock with glue, then that layer attached to a little larger piece of Blackberry Bliss with more glue.  I cut a length of Hello Honey 5/8″ striped cotton ribbon and wrapped it around these 3 layers and tied a knot.  This layer was then popped up onto the Delightful Dijon card base with Dimensionals.  I popped up the small sentiment that had been layered onto the piece of Blackberry Bliss with Dimensionals and glued the Celebrate Expressions Natural Element with the new Fine Tip Glue Pen.

The inside was stamped with more of the leaf patterns from the front of the card in Delightful Dijon onto another piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

Card cuts and supplies at the end of the post.
