Stampin’ Up! Background Bits Sneak Peek for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I’m sharing a sneak peek of the Host set, Background Bits, from the upcoming 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog today.

Stampin' Up! Background Bits-Cardiology by Jari

Here is our sketch

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop sketch challenge

I started by adhering a panel of Color Theory DSP (available June 1st) onto a panel of Old Olive card stock.  Next, I cut a scalloped square panel from Delightful Daisy DSP (available June 1st) and adhered it to the Old Olive panels with liquid glue.  I stamped the script image stamp from Background Bits onto a panel of Whisper White, stamping off once each time to lighten the Old Olive ink a little.  That panel was adhered directly to the front with more liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! Background Bits-Cardiology by Jari

Next, I used the ink to rubber method (color directly on the stamp with Stampin’ Write markers) on the flowers and stems, using Old Olive and Calypso Coral inks.  The flower grouping was die cut with a Layering Circle Framelit and framed with a Calypso Coral Scalloped Circle.

Versa Mark ink and White Emboss Powder were used for the sentiment and then heat embossed.  I used my Banner Triple Punch to punch one end, added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel and adhered it to the circles.  Finally, I popped the sentiment/art panel onto the Old Olive Layers with dimensionals, then added that whole panel to my Calypso Coral card base with more dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Background Bits-Cardiology by Jari

The ink to rubber method was used again for the flower and stem, but for the sentiment and bottom stamp trim, I just stamped the Old Olive regularly.

*Card stock cuts and a complete list of stamping supplies needed to create this card are at the end of the post.

Don’t you just love the images in Background Bits?  Remember, it is a new Host Exclusive Set available June 1st.

Colorful Seasons Thanks for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  My Colorful Seasons Thanks card was created with the Colorful Seasons Bundle (available June 1st).  Here are our colors for this week:

Happy Inkin' thursday blog hop color challenge

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons Thanks-Cardiology by Jari

I started by doing a little watercolor wash in So Saffron on some Canson Watercolor Paper with my Aqua Painter. Once it was dry, I stamped Thank You, from One Big Meaning, in Early Expresso ink right onto the art panel.  Next, I die cut the tree limb from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets Dies(available June 1st as a bundle with Colorful Seasons stamp set) in Early Expresso card stock.  I used small dabs of Liquid Glue to adhere it to the art panel, then stamped the flowers.  Each of the flowers was stamped in Calypso Coral onto Whisper White Thick card stock, some full strength, and a couple of them stamped off once.

Stampin' Up! Colorful Season Thank-Cardiology by Jari s

The flowers were adhered with Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.  The branch looked too lonely without a bird sitting on it, so I die cut the smallest bird from the Birds & Blossoms Thinlets in Early Expresso.  I cut a small piece of Calypso Coral paper to add under his wing, and punched a small circle in So Saffron for his eye.  He was then adhered to the panel with dimensionals.  The whole art panel was then popped onto the Early Expresso card stock base with dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons Thanks-Cardiology by Jari

Whisper White card stock was layered onto So Saffron with liquid glue, then adhered to the Early Expresso base with more liquid glue.  I adhered more of the small flowers to the corner with liquid glue and left room for writing a note.

A complete list of stamping supplies used to create the Colorful Seasons Thanks card will be at the end of the post, along with card stock cuts in inches.

Thanks so much for joining us today, see you next time!  I will be announcing my Cardiology by Jari Annual Catalog Paper Shares with you!

Stampin’ Up! Touches of Texture Thank You

Today I am sharing Touches of Texture from the current Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog with some of the new In-Colors from the upcoming 2017-2018 Annual catalog!

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture-Cardiology by Jari

The sketch inspiration is from the challenge this week at Fab Friday, FabFri111

FabFri111

And, I’m using the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge, ctd440

CTD440 Color Throwdown Color Challenge

When I realized that the Touches of Texture stamp set would carry over to the new catalog, I decided to go ahead and buy it, as I have been admiring it for a long time!  Crazy, right?  Well, I am so glad I have it now, it is a great stamp set!

This card came together so quickly once I decided to try out Touches of Texture.  First, I stamped the long textured image in So Saffron onto my Whisper White panel. Next, I inked up Fresh Fig onto the splotched stamp and stamped it off twice before stamping it onto my art panel.  The Lemon Lime Twist leaves and stem came next just to the right of the first So Saffron image.  A  little extra ink smudged onto my paper to the right of the stem, so I pulled out another texture stamp and stamped a little “grass” over it.

I inked up the open flower in Fresh Fig ink and wiped the center with a baby wipe so that I could fill the center with So Saffron ink from my Stampin’ Write marker.

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture-Cardiology by Jari

Using a blender pen and the ink from the top of the ink pad after I squeezed the lid (while closed) a few times, I colored in the flower head with Fresh Fig.  Then, I picked up some ink from the So Saffron ink lid and blended the center of my flower a little.  The bee was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and colored in with my Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil.  Then I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture

My art panel was adhered to a panel of Lemon Lime Twist card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The  Fresh Fig banner was cut on one end with my Banner Triple punch, inked with the Thank You stamp from the Daisy Delight stamp set(available June 1st) in Versa Mark and sprinkled with White Stampin’ Emboss powder.  The banner was adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then I added 3 So Saffron Enamel Shapes.  The whole front panel was then adhered to the Fresh Fig card stock base with Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture-Cardiology by Jari

More of the textured images were stamped on the inside in So Saffron and Fresh Fig ink, then I chose another sentiment from Daisy Delight and stamped it in Basic Black Archival ink.

Stamping supplies as well as card stock cuts for creating this Touches of Texture Thank You card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! So Very Much and Avant Garden

I used the Sale-A-Bration So Very Much and Avant Garden stamp sets to create my card to share with you today.  I cannot believe we have only one week left for Sale-A-Bration, wow, the time has flown!  Many of the Free items have already sold out, make sure to check below.  Remember for every  $50 you spend, you get one free gift.  Don’t wait!

Stampin' Up! So Very Much and Avant Garden by Cardiology by Jari

This is a really quick and simple card to create.  First, I snailed a panel of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP to my Peekaboo Peach card stock base.  Then, I stamped Thank You in Early Expresso ink onto a Very Vanilla card stock panel.  I knew I wanted the flowers from Avant Garden to have depth, so I created a mask first.  That was done by stamping one flower onto a sticky note near the sticky end, and cutting it out with my Paper Snips.  Then I was ready to begin stamping on the Very Vanilla panel.

Stampin' Up! So Very Much and Avant Garden Cardiology by Jari

I stamped the So Saffron flower on the right side first, then covered it with the mask I had created.  I  cleaned my stamp and stamped the lower and upper flowers in Peekaboo Peach ink, making sure my mask was still where I originally placed it.  The opposite side was done in the same fashion with my sticky note mask.  All of the flower centers were stamped in Early Expresso ink.  The smaller sentiment was also stamped in Early Expresso onto a strip of So Saffron and die cut with a banner die.

Stampin' Up! So Very Much and Avant Garden Cardiology by Jari

A small length of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon was notched at either end and bunched up with some Linen Thread to embellish the top, with some Peekaboo Peach Enamel Shapes added to the opposite side.  The art panel was framed with Peekaboo Peach and then popped onto the base with Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I added more of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP from the front to my Very Vanilla panel and left room to write a note.   Don’t let So Very Much and Avant Garden get away before you get your hands on them!

A complete list of supplies and card stock cuts to re-create this card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Basket Bunch Thank You

Today I am sharing the Basket Bunch Bundle from Stampin’ Up!  I just received this bundle last Sunday from my up-line, Amy, and have been dying to try it out.  Have I told you how much I love our quarterly team meetings?  We get together for lunch, have a business meeting, make projects and then receive prizes!  Woo-hoo!  I’d really love to have you on my team, you’d love it, too!  Make sure you get in touch with me if you are interested.

I made a Basket Bunch Thank You card on a Whisper White Note Card.

Stampin' Up! Basket Bunch Bundle Thank You by Cardiology by Jari

I started with a Crumb Cake panel that I dry embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, then snailed it to a panel of Wild Wasabi card stock.  Next, I adhered a panel of the Carried Away DSP (free while supplies last during Sale-A-Bration) to a panel of Peekaboo Peach card stock.  Using the Basket Builder Framelits Dies, I cut out two bunches of grass in Wild Wasabi and attached it to the Peekaboo Peach panel.  A length of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon was adhered to the bottom and the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Stampin' Up! Basket Bunch Bundle Thank You by Cardiology by Jari

Next, I stamped the rabbit and carrot images from Basket Bunch in Memento Black ink.  This ink does not stain the photopolymer stamps as much as other inks do.  I used a Blender Pen and carefully colored in the rabbit with Crumb Cake ink, making sure not to get it too wet.  I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the rest of the images.and then cut them all out with the dies.  The sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark, sprinkled with Gold Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  The banners were cut with the die from the Popcorn Box Thinlets.

Stampin' Up! Basket Bunch Bundle Thank You by Cardiology by Jari

For the inside of my card, I stamped the grass in Wild Wasabi along the bottom of a panel of Whisper White.  I stamped the rabbit and the carrot in Memento Black ink and colored them in with Stampin’ Write Markers.  The sentiment was stamped in Peekaboo Peach.  So, how do you like it?  I know if you haven’t added the Basket Bunch Bundle to your stash, you really must consider it.  You’ll be seeing me post more with this set!

For a list of all of the products used in my Basket Bunch Thank You, and card stock cuts, see the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Bundle and the FREE Sale-A-Bration Carried Away DSP, to create my share for today.  Don’t you just love this time of year when you can earn so many wonderful FREE products from Stampin’ Up!

Lift Me Up Bundle Cardiology by Jari

We had a sketch to challenge us this week:Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop sketch challenge

I started by cutting out the large NIght of Navy hot air balloon from the Up & Away Thinletswhich are a part of the Lift Me Up Bundle.  Next, I die cut the pieces for the peek through colors on the balloon.  There are 6 die pieces and I used Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, and Peekaboo Peach from top to bottom, repeating the colors in the same order. Next, I stamped the smallest hot air balloon in Peekaboo Peach onto Whisper White and die cut it.  I stamped the Thank You sentiment in Versa Mark onto Watermelon Wonder and heat embossed it with White Emboss Powder.  I was also die cut, then popped onto the balloon with a dimensional.

Lift Me Up Bundle Cardiology by Jari

The Whisper White individual clouds were then stamped in Mint Macaron, die cut and set aside.  My card base is Watermelon Wonder.  The next layer consists of some Carried Away DSP adhered to a panel of Mint Macaron, then popped onto the base with Dimensionals.  The smaller center panel is another pattern of Carried Away DSP (clouds), adhered to a panel of Mint Macaron.  It was also popped onto the card front with Dimensionals.

Lift Me Up Bundle Cardiology by Jari

Once all of the layers were secured, i added the hot air balloons and the clouds with Dimensionals.  I filled in the largest balloon with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some bling, and the front was complete.  The inside of the card has a Whisper White panel with a strip of the Carried Away DSP adhered just to the left side to leave room for a note.

Lift Me Up Bundle Cardiology by Jari

And, because this paper is so cool, I decided to fancy up the outer flap of the envelope.  Just cut a strip of DSP a little longer and wider than your envelope flap, add some liquid glue to the outside of the flap, place the strip on top and cut off the excess with your Paper Snips.

So, if you do not have this Lift Me Up Bundle yet, have I convinced you that you really need to get it?

I will provide the card stock cuts in inches and a list of the products to create this card at the very end of my post.

Stampin' Up! Inside the Lines and All Things Thanks Cardiology by Jari

I was inspired by the colors at Sunday Stamps SSC147

Sunday Stamps SSC147 Challenge

My sketch was inspired by the Less is More #317 challenge this week:

Less is More #317 sketch challenge

I started with a panel of the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  From this panel, I decided on the portion I wanted to color and used a Stitched Shapes Thinlets Circle die to cut it out. Using a Blender Pen and Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Soft Sky inks, I painted the images inside the circle.  Once dry, I cut a scalloped circle from the Circles Framelits in Calypso Coral card stock and adhered it to the back of the colored panel.

I adhered the uncolored panel of Inside the Lines DSP to a panel of Pear Pizzaz card stock, then wrapped a length of Linen Thread around it 3 times.  It was secured to the back with some tape, then I added Dimensionals and popped this panel onto the Calypso Coral card stock base.  I lined up the colored panel of Inside the Lines with the uncolored panel and popped it over the cut out spot with Dimensionals.

Then, I inked up the sentiment from All Things Thanks in Versa Mark ink onto a panel of Calypso Coral, sprinkled Copper Emboss Powder on it and heat embossed it.  I pulled out one of the banners from Bunch of Banners, die cut it and popped it onto the front with Dimensionals.

For the inside, I chose one of the flowers from Inside The Lines DSP, cut it out, and colored it in using my Blender Pen and Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzaz and So Saffron inks.  The sentiment is another one from All Things Thanks and heat embossed with Copper Emboss Powder.  This Whisper White sentiment panel was adhered to a panel of Pear Pizzaz, then layered onto the Calypso Coral card base.

A complete list of supplies to complete this project as well as card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Inside the Lines and Dragonfly Dreams

I used the Stampin’ Up! Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle to create my card for today.

Inside the Lines

This is my first time using the Inside the Lines DSP, which is FREE during Sale-A-Bration!  I started with one of the 4 design sheets and some of the new Watercolor Pencils.  The stems are colored in Old Olive, and the flowers in Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.  I used my blender pen to pull some of the color around in the flowers.  I used a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write marker for the middle of the bee, and added some Wink of Stella to the wings.  Once everything was colored, I adhered that panel onto a panel of Calypso Coral.

Inside the Lines

Next, I stamped the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases, onto a panel of Whisper White, using Basic Black Archival ink. I used the banner die from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlets to cut it out. Then, I cut another banner in Old Olive to frame the sentiment.  Once they were adhered together, I punched out a small hole on one end so that I could run some twine through.

Inside the Lines

I wrapped a length of Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine around the art panel three times, came up through the hole in my banner and made a bow.  Then, I added some dimensionals to the back of the banner.  The dragonflies were die cut with the Detailed Dragonfly Framelits and then I cut them apart and added two to the front with dimensionals.  To complete the front, I added dimensionals to the art panel and popped it onto the Old Olive base.

Inside the Lines

For the inside, I stamped my sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams in Basic Black Archival ink first.  Then, I stamped the dotted images in Calypso Coral, stamping off before stamping them around the sentiment.  I cut another set of the Dragonfly dies in Basic Black, this time leaving them intact, and added them with little dots of liquid glue.

If you enjoy coloring, you really ought to consider the Inside the Lines DSP as one of your FREE choice items during Sale-A-Bration.  Remember for every $50 you spend, you can receive one free item!

A complete list of products used and card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Window Shopping Thanks for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday

I paired up Window Shopping and Oh So Succulent from Stampin’ Up! for my share for the Blog Hop for today.

Shopping

We are playing with a color challenge, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Old Olive this week.

Shopping

I started with a panel of Tip Top Taupe and adhered a smaller panel of Succulent Garden (the floral pattern) to it with liquid glue.  Next, I took a panel of the checked Tip Top Taupe Succulent Garden DSP the same width as my floral pattern and marked it lightly with a pencil 1″ up from the bottom of the left side and 2 1/2″ on the right side.  Then, I lined up my pencil points on my Stampin Trimmer and cut it on the diagonal. It was adhered then to the other panel with glue.

Shopping

I pulled out my Tip Top Taupe Mini Striped Ribbon, cut a length, added some Tear & Tape and adhered it on the diagonal where the two panels met.  I stamped the sentiment from Window Shopping in Tip Top Taupe ink onto a pre-cut square of Whisper White card stock, then cleaned off my stamp.  Next, I stamped the sentiment once again in Mint Macaron on another piece of Whisper White.  The center part of the sentiment was all I wanted , so I used the banner die from the Gift Cards Envelope & Trims Framelits to cut it out and layer it over the original sentiment.

Shopping

My sentiment panel was then framed with a panel of Tip Top Taupe.  I pulled out one of the Lace Doilies and glued it to the front of the card.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the sentiment panel and I wound some loops of Silver Metallic Thread around them before popping it onto the front of the card.  Finally, I added a few Pearls for some bling.

Shopping

Originally, I had planned to add some of the succulents from Oh So Succulent, to the front of the card, but decided against it.  So, they were added to the inside.  They are two-step stamps, so the inside of the succulent is stamped in Mint Macaron and the outside stamp is Old Olive.

A complete list of supplies and card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! So Very Much Thank You

I used the So Very Much stamp set, which is FRE during Sale-A-Bration, for my CAS card for today.  I also used the Blooms & Wishes stamp set to add some flowers to my design.

so Very Much

I really love the large font on the Thank You sentiment, and because of its size, you don’t really need to add much else to make a great statement!  I started with Whisper White as my base and added a panel of Dapper Denin from the 2016-2018 In Color DSP stack with liquid glue.

So Very Much

I inked up the Thank You sentiment from So Very Much, in  Dapper Denim and stamped it in the center of my Whisper White panel.   Next, I stamped two of the flowers from Blooms & Wishes in Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo in the right corner.  The stem was stamped in Emerald Envy.  So Very Much was also stamped in Dapper Denim.and die cut using the banner die from the Succulent Framelits Dies.  In Color Enamel Shapes were added to the flower centers and above the small sentiment.  Finally, I adhered the art panel to a panel of Dapper Denim and popped them onto the front with dimensionals.  And, there you have it a quick, clean and simple thank you card!
