Stampin’ Up! Monochromatic Flourish Sympathy

Today’s share is another sympathy card-I know, not fun, but necessary!  This one is monochromatic, using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and Flourish Thinlets Dies, and Night of Navy.

Monochromatic sympathy

The monochromatic theme of my card is from this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #65.  Why not check it out and play along, too?

Monochromatic Flourish

I started with a Whisper White Thick card base and added a slightly smaller panel of Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper to it with liquid glue.  Next, I worked on the art panel.

Monochromatic Sympathy

To keep the monochromatic theme going, I die cut two shapes from the Flourish Thinlets Dies in Night of Navy card stock.  Because I wanted to break up the Whisper White panel some, I inked up the Splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge in Night of Navy, stamped it off once onto a scrap of paper, then stamped onto my card stock.  Glue was added to the border die cut panel with my Fine Tip Glue Pen and attached to the bottom of the panel.  I adhered the art panel onto a panel of Night of Navy with liquid glue.

Using some more of the Whisper White, I stamped With Sympathy, from Flourishing Phrases, in Night of Navy, then die cut with a Layering Oval Die.  It is framed with a little larger scallop Layering Oval Die.

Monochromatic Sympathy

Next, I placed the sentiment oval onto the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensional.  I adhered that Flourish flower with glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen, not gluing the entire piece flat to the front. Then, I tied a double bow with Night of Navy Baker’s Twine and attached it with a glue dot.  Three Pearls Basic Jewels were added before popping the focal panel onto the front of the card with dimensionals.  The inside was left free of a sentiment, just a little DSP was added to the bottom of the Whisper White Panel.  (you can see it peeking out in the picture above)

Monochromatic sympathy

Since very little stamping was done on the card, I decorated the envelope with a stamp from Flourishing Phrases to complete the monochromatic challenge!

Stampin’ Up! Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

Today I am sharing a Sympathy Card using the Paisleys & Posies stamp set, the Paisley Framelits Dies and the Petals and Posies Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I also added some of the matching 3/8″ Ribbon from the Ribbon trio pack in this suite of products.

Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

My  sketch was inspired by the one at Retro Sketches this week, RS#230

Retro Sketches RS230

And the circle images are inspired by The Paper Players PP311

Paper Players 311

Because this Designer Series Paper is so beautiful all by itself, I decided to make my sentiment panel a little smaller than suggested in the sketch.  I stamped a panel of Very Vanilla with the sentiment from Suite Seasons in Rich Razzleberry ink and framed it with a little larger panel of Rich Razzleberry card stock using liquid glue.

Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

Next, I stamped some of the images from Paisleys & Posies onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut them out with the Paisley Framelits Dies. Then, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to fill in some of the uncolored spaces in the images. They were then popped onto the sentiment panel with dimensionals.  I layered the Petals & Paisleys DSP onto a tiny bit larger panel of Rich Razzelberry and adhered the Delightful Dijon ribbon to it first with some Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Next came the Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, leaving a little space between them, so that I could overlap the Mint Macaron ribbon on top.

I popped on the sentiment panel over the ribbons with dimensionals, then added all of that new panel to the front of my Night of Navy card base with dimensionals.

Paisleys Posies Sympathy

The inside sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink.  Then, I added another strip of that beautiful DSP to the bottom.

Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

To  complete my Sympathy Card, I added a stamped image from Paisleys and Posies to the front of the envelope.  Dimensions in inches and Stampin’ Up! Products used in creating my card will be at the end of the post.

Thoughtful Branches Sympathy Card

Hi Stampers, today my share is from Thoughtful Branches by Stampin’ Up!  Time is really running short for you to add this wonderful bundle to your stash.  It is only available until August 31st.  More about that later…

I needed a sympathy card and wanted to showcase the Thoughtful Branches Bundle a couple more times to show you how versatile it is.

Thoughtful Branches

I started with a panel of Crumb Cake, and dry embossed it with an old favorite, the Woodland Textured Impressions  Embossing Folder then glued it to my Soft Suede card base.  Next, I stamped two sets of the grouping of 3 trees from Thoughtful Branches in Soft Suede, onto a panel of Very Vanilla.  The leaf images were stamped in Cajun Craze, some full strength, and some stamped off once onto a scrap of paper before stamping onto the art panel.

Thoughtful Branches

I chose a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and stamped it onto the front in Cajun Craze with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig for proper placement.  The three leaves were stamped in Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla and cut with the corresponding die from the Beautiful Branches Thinlets Dies, which may be purchased as a bundle to save 10%.  My art panel was then glued to a panel of Cajun Craze.  I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel 3 times before tying it to the leaves and then making a bow.  Dimensionals were added to the bactk before popping it onto the front of the card.

Thoughtful Branches

The inside sentiment is also from Flourishing Phrases and is stamped in Cajun Craze on a panel of Very Vanilla, then layered onto a panel of Crumb Cake and finally attached to the base with glue.

This is clean and simple and took very little time to put together.  Don’t you agree, you need this Thoughtful Branches Bundle!!  Get it soon…or it will be gone forever!

Stampin’ Up! Flourish for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

I am using the Flourish Thinlets Dies and the Flourishing Phrases stamp set for our color challenge at the Happy Stampers Blog Hop this week.  Doesn’t every card need a little “Flourish” now and then?

We are using these colors:

Flourish for Happy Stampers
Flourish

At first glance, I thought I would not really like these colors together, but was pleasantly surprised once I began putting them together.  The Flourish Thinlets dies are all fun to work with, especially the flourish die I used for the front of the card.  I used Old Olive for it, and contemplated adding some Delightful Dijon for the flowers, but really liked it better as one color.

Flourish

I added a Delicate White Doily to the front of the Serene Scenery DSP, then adhered that panel to a panel of Pool Party with glue.  Next, I cut a length of Delightful Dijon 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon and attached it to the front (and around the back) with 2 strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.  I added the Old Olive flourish cut out with my fine tip glue pen, but did not glue it down completely so that it was not too flat.

Flourish

The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, the companion stamp set to the Flourish Thinlets (bundle it and save 10%).  I stamped it in Delightful Dijon and then die cut it with an oval die from the Layering Ovals Collection.  I used a little larger scalloped oval die from the same set to frame it in Old Olive.

Flourish

For the inside, I stamped the flourish in Old Olive and the sentiment in Delightul Dijon.  Both images are in the Flourishing Phrases set.  The Whisper White art panel is adhered to a panel of Pool Party, then added to the Old Olive card base with liquid glue.

Card stock cuts in inches and a complete list of products will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Sympathy

Today’s share is a sympathy card using the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.

Heartfelt Sympathy

I am really loving this new Floral  Boutique DSP for so many occasions.  I thought this made a pretty choice for my friend who recently lost her husband.  And, there was very little stamping involved which made for a quick card.  I used Night of Navy ink and stamped a panel of Whisper White with one of the sentiments from Heartfelt Sympathy.  Then, framed that panel with a Night of Navy panel.

Heartfelt Sympathy

I punched some Night of Navy flowers using the Petite Petals punch and added some dimension by curling the edges a little with a bone folder.  The centers are Pearls Basic Jewels.  I wrapped a strand of 5/8″ Organza ribbon around a panel of Floral Boutique DSP and made a bow bofore adding that panel to the Night of Navy card base with dimensionals.  The senitment panel was then added to the lower right portion of the front with dimensionals.

Heartfelt Sympathy

I wanted to write a message on the inside, so I only added a 1/2″ strip of the opposite side of the Floral Boutique DSP to the bottom of my Whisper White panel.

***Correction to my last post!

Thanks to Mary L, who found my mistake from my last post on the Birthday Fun Fold card, I had written the wrong measurement for the length of the base card!  So sorry.  I have corrected the post now!   http://cardiologybyjari.com/stampin-birthday-fun-fold-card/
