Stampin’ Up! Monochromatic Flourish Sympathy

Today’s share is another sympathy card-I know, not fun, but necessary!  This one is monochromatic, using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and Flourish Thinlets Dies, and Night of Navy.

Monochromatic sympathy

The monochromatic theme of my card is from this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #65.  Why not check it out and play along, too?

Monochromatic Flourish

I started with a Whisper White Thick card base and added a slightly smaller panel of Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper to it with liquid glue.  Next, I worked on the art panel.

Monochromatic Sympathy

To keep the monochromatic theme going, I die cut two shapes from the Flourish Thinlets Dies in Night of Navy card stock.  Because I wanted to break up the Whisper White panel some, I inked up the Splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge in Night of Navy, stamped it off once onto a scrap of paper, then stamped onto my card stock.  Glue was added to the border die cut panel with my Fine Tip Glue Pen and attached to the bottom of the panel.  I adhered the art panel onto a panel of Night of Navy with liquid glue.

Using some more of the Whisper White, I stamped With Sympathy, from Flourishing Phrases, in Night of Navy, then die cut with a Layering Oval Die.  It is framed with a little larger scallop Layering Oval Die.

Next, I placed the sentiment oval onto the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensional.  I adhered that Flourish flower with glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen, not gluing the entire piece flat to the front. Then, I tied a double bow with Night of Navy Baker’s Twine and attached it with a glue dot.  Three Pearls Basic Jewels were added before popping the focal panel onto the front of the card with dimensionals.  The inside was left free of a sentiment, just a little DSP was added to the bottom of the Whisper White Panel.  (you can see it peeking out in the picture above)

Since very little stamping was done on the card, I decorated the envelope with a stamp from Flourishing Phrases to complete the monochromatic challenge!

Stampin’ Up! Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

Today I am sharing a Sympathy Card using the Paisleys & Posies stamp set, the Paisley Framelits Dies and the Petals and Posies Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I also added some of the matching 3/8″ Ribbon from the Ribbon trio pack in this suite of products.

Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

My  sketch was inspired by the one at Retro Sketches this week, RS#230

And the circle images are inspired by The Paper Players PP311

Because this Designer Series Paper is so beautiful all by itself, I decided to make my sentiment panel a little smaller than suggested in the sketch.  I stamped a panel of Very Vanilla with the sentiment from Suite Seasons in Rich Razzleberry ink and framed it with a little larger panel of Rich Razzleberry card stock using liquid glue.

Paisleys & Posies Sympathy

Next, I stamped some of the images from Paisleys & Posies onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut them out with the Paisley Framelits Dies. Then, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to fill in some of the uncolored spaces in the images. They were then popped onto the sentiment panel with dimensionals.  I layered the Petals & Paisleys DSP onto a tiny bit larger panel of Rich Razzelberry and adhered the Delightful Dijon ribbon to it first with some Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Next came the Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, leaving a little space between them, so that I could overlap the Mint Macaron ribbon on top.

I popped on the sentiment panel over the ribbons with dimensionals, then added all of that new panel to the front of my Night of Navy card base with dimensionals.

Paisleys Posies Sympathy

The inside sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink.  Then, I added another strip of that beautiful DSP to the bottom.

To  complete my Sympathy Card, I added a stamped image from Paisleys and Posies to the front of the envelope.  Dimensions in inches and Stampin’ Up! Products used in creating my card will be at the end of the post.
