Stampin’ Up! September Paper Pumpkin

Have you seen the September Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up! ?  Every month, I am so excited to see what is in store for me.  This month’s kit is so cute.

Sept Paper Pumpkin

This kit contains enough supplies for 8 treat bags and tags, and the stamps are very fun, too!

I have 8 grandchildren, so this kit is perfect for me for Halloween treats for them.  Just don’t tell my husband there wasn’t one for him ok? 😈 Here is one of the bags I made:

Paper Pumpkin Sept 2015 Card-iology by Jari

I decided I wanted to also make a Halloween card using some of the stamps from this set, so I began to pull together all of the stamps I thought I could combine to make a Halloween scene.  I pulled out Sheltering Tree, Happy Scenes and of course, the September Paper Pumpkin offerings.  Here is what I came up with:

Halloween Sheltering Tree and Happy Scenes Card-iology by Jari

First, I stamped the tree from the Sheltering Tree set in Memento Black ink onto a panel of Whisper White.  I decided it needed some spiders to make it a little more creepy, so I masked off the web part of the stamp with scotch tape and inked up the spider and its dragline from Happy Scenes in Memento Black ink and stamped it as if they were hanging  from the 3 branches. Then, I added the rake which was stamped in Memento Black.  The leaves were inked with Delightful Dijon and Tangelo Twist and stamped across the bottom of the card.

Halloween

The pumpkins were cut out with a die from the Square Pillow Box Thinlets Dies and decorated with a Black Stampin’ Write marker, and popped up with Dimensionals.  I stamped the Witch’s Hat from the Paper Pumpkin set in Memento Black right onto the Whisper White piece and added the Boo sentiment from the Happy Scenes set also in Memento Black.  Happy Haunting, also from September Paper Pumpkin, was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White in Tangelo Twist ink. I used the smallest banner from the Banners Framelits die set to cut it out and trimmed the left end a little so that I could frame it in a piece of Tangelo Twist that had also been cut out with the same banner.

Halloween Sheltering Tree

For the inside, I stamped a pumpkin from the Paper Pumpkin stamps and a sentiment from the Happy Scenes set in Tangelo Twist, and the Boo, also from Happy Scenes, in Memento Black.  I added a left over strip of the DSP  to the bottom with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves for the First Day of Autumn

Well, it is official, fall is finally here!  And so, to usher in the season, I have created a card from the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves set.

Vintage Leaves Card-iology by Jari

I started by stamping several of the leaves from the Vintage Leaves set in Delightful Dijon onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Notice that some of the leaves in the background were stamped off first.  I wanted some of the leaves to be darker than others.  Next, I stamped the same leaf patterns onto Blackberry Bliss and Delightful Dijon in the same colors of ink and used the Leaflets Framelits Dies to cut them out.

Vintage Leaves Card-iology by Jari

For the sentiment, I chose a stamp from the For All Things set, but decided to use only a part of it.  I used some tape to cover the part I did not want, then inked it up, took off the piece of tape, then stamped onto a small piece of Very Vanilla.  I used the Banner Punch to cut it out-then punched a piece of Blackberry Bliss to fit behind it.  I positioned the punched leaves where I wanted them and attached them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Vintage Leaves Card-iology by Jari

The stamped leaf image was attached to a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock with glue, then that layer attached to a little larger piece of Blackberry Bliss with more glue.  I cut a length of Hello Honey 5/8″ striped cotton ribbon and wrapped it around these 3 layers and tied a knot.  This layer was then popped up onto the Delightful Dijon card base with Dimensionals.  I popped up the small sentiment that had been layered onto the piece of Blackberry Bliss with Dimensionals and glued the Celebrate Expressions Natural Element with the new Fine Tip Glue Pen.

The inside was stamped with more of the leaf patterns from the front of the card in Delightful Dijon onto another piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

Card cuts and supplies at the end of the post.

If you are in need of stamping supplies, I would love to be your Demonstrator.  When you order from me, if you use the posted host code, you will receive a free gift from me.  If your order totals $150. or more, you do not need to use the code as you will receive your own Host rewards-but you will still receive a free gift from me.  Yippee!  Your free gift for September is a package of Expressions Natural Elements (the Celebrate from my card today is one of three different sentiments in the package!).

Stampin’ Up! Into the Woods DSP Thank You Notes

Today’s cards were inspired by the new Into the Woods Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!  I thought it  would be fun to make a set of thank you cards that would be quick and easy,  like 15 minutes or less to complete!

Into the Woods Thank You Card-iology by Jari

I love all of this Designer Series Paper for making fall cards.  It was difficult to pick the side of the paper I would rather feature as they are all wonderful!  The card base for each is a Whisper White Notecard.  As you can see, I used several different stamp sets for the sentiments.

Vintage LeavesThankYou Card-iology by Jari

For this card, I used the Vintage Leaves set and stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink onto the same paper and cut it with the matching leaf from the Leaflets Framelets. The DSP is layered onto a piece of Rich Razzelberry cardstock, then attached to the card base with snail. The Thanks sentiment, from Another Thank You, is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and layered onto a strip of Gold Foil paper, then finished off with a Gold Metal button and Gold Baker’s Twine.

Into the WoodsThankYou Card-iology by Jari

I used the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set for this sentiment, but colored only the parts I wanted stamped with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers.  The Into the Woods DSP is layered onto a piece of Rich Razzelberry with snail.  I wrapped a strand of Old Olive Baker’s Twine around this layer 3 times and tied a bow, then attached the sentiment layer with Dimensionals.  The Into the Woods Elements leaf was sponged with some Old Olive ink before attaching with a glue dot.

Into the Woods ThankYou Card-iology by Jari

For this card, I used the Hello You Thinlets for the Thanks sentiment.  I ran a piece of Tangelo Twist through the Big Shot 3 different times to get 3 layers of the word.  The layers are glued together with Stampin’ Up’s new Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  Very easy process!  The 3 layers stand out a little better than just one layer on this flat card.  The Into the Woods DSP is attached to a piece of Tangelo Twist, then attached to a slightly larger piece of Old Olive before being snailed to the card base.

Into the Woods Thank You Card-iiology by Jari

And the final card is rather monochromatic, but I love the acorn paper.  The sentiment, from For All Things, is embossed in Gold embossing powder onto Whisper White, then cut out with an Ovals Collection Framelit. I framed that layer with another oval in Soft Suede.  The acorn paper was layered onto a piece of Early Expresso card stock, then a length of Gold Cording Trim was wrapped around 3 times and finished with a bow.  This layer was then attached to the card base with Multipurpose glue.  The sentiment layer was popped up with Dimensionals and finished with an acorn from the Into the Woods elements.

The products used for my projects will be listed at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Chalk It Up to Love

Paper Pumpkin August Card-iology by Jari

Paper Pumpkin is my go-to when I need a card or project in a flash!  Today’s cards and gift box are from the August Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin.  I made a couple of changes to each, but they are pretty close to what came in my kit.  There were supplies for 3 boxes, 6 cards and 6 envelopes in this Chalk It Up To Love edition.

Paper Pumpin August 2015 Card-iology by Jari

I really needed a sympathy card and remembered that I had not done any of the cards in my August Paper Pumpkin box, so I pulled out the supplies and put this together.  I added 2 flowers by using my Itty Bitty Accent flower Punch and a scrap from the piece of Pink Pirouette paper in the kit.  The flower centers are small Pearl Basic Jewels.  The card base has gold embossed bows on it-sort of hard to photograph, but I think you can tell from the bottom corner that it is gold.

Next, I made a card that would be good for gift giving at Christmas, because I added a piece of the Winter Wonderland DSP(snowflake) to the banner and finished it off with a Snowflake Element and Gold Metallic Thread. Don’t you think the card base is so festive with the gold stripes?

The last project was the adorable gift box.  I made it a little differently because I am not ready to give it to anyone yet, so I did not attach the black grosgrain ribbon (supplied in the kit) to it.  I just made a black belly-band in Basic Black cardstock so that it would be easy to slip off to insert a little surprise inside the box.  If you look closely, you’ll notice I punched a hole in the end of the tag and ran a piece of Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine to compliment the gold dotted box!

If you have never tried Paper Pumpkin, you need to give it a try.  Each month a cute orange box is delivered to your door with everything you need for an afternoon or two of creativity!  You don’t have to do anything but follow the simple instructions and voila, beautiful creations are made. It is really affordable, too, especially if you are just starting out in stamping.  You do not need to invest in a lot of supplies to get started.  The cost is $19.95 a month and that includes shipping.  You can sign up for one month or a whole year-it is up to you, and you are under no obligation to continue if you decide to stop your subscription.

Head over to Paper Pumpkin today and see what it is all about!  If you are a Pinterest junky, you can also check out all of the pins there on current and past paper Pumpkin projects.

Gift Bag alternate from May, 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit

I needed a quick bag to stuff some chocolate candy in for a gift for my Doctor’s office the other day, and remembered I still had a couple of bags left from my May Paper Pumpkin kit.

Paper Pumpkin gift bag Card-iology by Jari

This is definitely one of my favorite kits.  There were 4 gift bags and 6 cards with a lot of fun extras to dress them all up!  I changed my bag up just a little by using Daffodil Delight Card stock that I ran through the Big Shot with the Lucky Stars and Happy Heart embossing folders for the smaller balloons.  I attached them to the inside with some Tear and Tape. Next,  I cut a strip from one of the card bases (the striped paper on the center balloon) and punched each end with the Banner Triple Punch, then attached the Expressions Natural Elements Thanks with Multipurpose Glue to it.  That piece was then glued to the Calypso Coral balloon and popped up with Dimensionals.  The sentiment on the tag was from For All Things.
