Stampin’ Up! Dragonflies for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I’m sharing some Dragonflies on my card today for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  And here is our sketch:

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop Sketch Challenge March 30
Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams Dragonflies by Cardiology by Jari

Our sketch this week gives us a starting point and guidelines for each sketch, so I really try to work with it as much as possible.  If you notice in the sketch it has 2 panels on the front, with one looking like a different color than the other.  I chose to use the same paper, but cut it so that it looks a little like it is two different panels of DSP.  I used one of the sheets from Falling In Love DSP and cut it so that the part of the paper with less design is on the top portion and the part with more design was on the bottom!  They were adhered to a panel of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  Then, a length of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon was adhered where the two panels met.

I recently saw a card on Pinterest with dragonflies created using Vellum card stock, so I decided to try it, too.  You can see the card HERE.  The stamper used Watercolor Pencils, and since I knew they were not orderable from Stampin’ Up! right now, I decided to try using my Blender pen and inks on the Vellum.  I cut a rectangle of the Vellum and began coloring with Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Sweet Sugarplum inks, blending the colors as I went. Once it was dry, I just die cut it with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets Die.

My sentiment, from Dragonfly Dreams, was stamped in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla, and die cut with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelit Die. Then, I adhered the sentiment oval to a Blushing Bride scalloped oval and attached a Lace Doily to the back side with glue. The dragonflies were attached with glue dots just under the heads.  I cut a length of Silver Metallic Thread and attached it to the back of the sentiment ovals with some Glue Dots, then popped that panel onto the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The Falling In Love Embellishment added the finishing touch to the front.

I pulled out the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment from the Oh So Succulent stamp set and stamped it in Sahara Sand ink. Then, I added a strip of the DSP left over from the front for the bottom of the panel.

Stampin’ Up! Basket of Succulents for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Oh So Succulent Bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create my Basket of Succulents card to share with you today.

Stampin' Up! Oh So Succulent Basket Cardiology by Jari

Here is the sketch for the week:

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I started by adhering two different patterns of the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper to a panel of Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper (only available during Sale-A-Bration!).  Next, I wrapped a length of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon around both panels adhering it with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Then, I sponged a Lace Doily with some Sweet Sugarplum ink, cut it in half and adhered it to the left center.  I pulled out my Window Box Thinlets and created the basket bottom in Tip Top Taupe card stock with the scalloped die.  To add some interest to the basket, I also die cut the other flat die which created the strips used to make the ridges on the basket.

All of the succulents in the basket were stamped twice because this is a two-step stamp set.  The first stamping was full strength, which created the outline of the succulent.  The second layer was stamped off once onto scrap paper before actually stamping onto my outlined succulent.  I used combinations of Old Olive, Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum and Calypso Coral inks.  The Happy Mother’s Day sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark and sprinkled with White Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I used the small banner die from the Popcorn Box Thinlets to cut it out.

Stampin' Up! Oh So Succulent Basket

I used part of the sentiment from Remarkable You for the inside of my card.  (The word And at the beginning of the stamp was left off.)  A few more succulents were added to the bottom along with another strip of the Succulent Garden DSP.

All of the products used to create this card as well as the card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of the post.

Now, I hope you’ll head on over to Kristi’s blog to see what she has created for today:

Happy Mother’s Day Card for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

My share for our Happy Stampers color challenge today is a Mother’s Day Card.

Here are the colors we are all working with:

12295452_1305624446130794_7154701242439088343_n

Mother's Day

I used the stamps from the April Paper Pumpkin kit for the outside art image as well as Crazy About You for the stamped sentiment.  I used the Hello You Thinlets for the word, happy.  Crazy About You and the Hello You Thinlets dies may be purchased as a bundle until June 1st, at a 15% discount.  Even though this set is not retiring, it will not be offered with the Thinlets as a bundle in the new catalog.  So, order them now if you want to get a great deal.

Mother's Day

The largest flower image is stamped off once in Rose Red ink onto the Whisper White panel, then the smaller flower image stamped off twice for the lighter flower and only once for the darker one.  For the flower centers, I used Crumb Cake ink.  The leaves were stamped in Garden Green, and again, one of the leaf images was stamped off once to add some interest.  The stamp with the grouping of dots, also from April Paper Pumpkin, was stamped in Crumb Cake

Even though you cannot tell from the photos, all of the flowers have clear Wink of Stella brushed on them.  If you look closely, you can see it on the small Rose Red punched flower.  I think it really adds some pizzaz to your cards!  Have you tried it yet?  I think you will be happy with the results!

Mother's Day

For the inside, I used the second April Paper Pumpkin stamp set, All About Everything, to stamp my sentiment in Garden Green.  The small flowers were colored with a Rose Red marker and some Wink of Stella also adorned them as well as the corner flower.  Even if you did not get these stamp sets, you could use any other floral stamps and create your own Mother’s Day card with these colors in mind!

Mother's Day

My envelope flap is lined with more of the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack (Garden Green polka dot) using the Envelope Liners Framelits (retiring 🙁 )

Bloomin’ Love for Mother’s Day Card

My share for today is a Mother’s Day card designed with Bloomin’ Love from Stampin’ Up!  I also had help from the April Paper Pumpkin stamp sets for my sentiments.

Bloomin' Love Mother's Day card by Card-iology by Jari

I used the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  You will want to head over there and see all of the other great entries in this week’s challenge.

FMS Final 233-001

I am also playing along with the new TGIF Challenge 52.  It is a Mother’s Day card challenge. They are also giving away a free stamp set, so head over there and check it out and play along!

TGIF MAY 2016 New Challenges-002

I really had not realized how soon Mother’s Day is so I am glad I got the head’s up!  It will be here and gone very soon.

Bloomin' Love

The Blushing Bride panel is dry embossed with the Happy Heart TIEF and adhered to the Crumb Cake card base.  A panel of Love Blossoms DSP was adhered to a panel of Crumb Cake and then glued to the front.  Next, I stamped the sentiment from one of the stamp sets from the April Paper Pumpkin in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White.   Then, colored in the leaves and flowers with my Stampin’ Write markers. This is framed in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake-both just a little larger than the art piece.Bloomin' Love

I stamped the heart image from Bloomin’ Love in Crumb cake onto Whisper White and fussy cut the heart shape. I stamped 3 flowers from Bloomin’ Love and used the Bloomin’ Hearts Thinlets Dies to cut them out.  ***These Thinlets are sold as a bundle with the Bloomin’ Love stamp set now, but will be sold separately in the upcoming 2016-2017 catalog, so order yours now!

I used some Pearl Basic jewels for the flower centers and attached them with glue dots.  The sentiment and the heart image are attached to the card front with dimensionals to give it some depth.

Bloomin' Love

For the inside I stamped a flower image from Bloomin’ Love in Blushing Bride, and for the sentiment, I chose another stamp from one of the April Paper Pumpkin stamps and used Crumb Cake ink.

I decided to fancy up the envelope(see above) with a liner of the same Love Blossoms DSP using the Envelope Liners Framelets (these are retiring!  boo-hoo)
