Stampin’ Up! Moon Baby for FMS#276

Happy Saturday.  I hope your weekend is going well, maybe you’re even enjoying some pre-spring weather where you are!  I used the Moon Baby stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog for my card for today.

Stampin' Up! Moon Baby

The inspiration for my design is from Freshly Made Sketches, FMS#276. Make sure to check out all of the great projects over there and try your hand at the sketch.

I started with a panel of Watercolor paper and stamped the baby image from Moon Baby in Basic Black Archival ink. Then, using my Aqua Painter, I carefully colored in the baby;s sleeper with Pool Party ink.  I cleaned the brush and added just a little smudge of Pink Pirouette ink to the baby’s cheeks.  I stamped the umbrella top again onto a panel of A Little Foxy DSP in Basic Black so that I could fussy cut it out and adhere it to the actual umbrella.  This is called paper piecing.

When the art panel was dry, I cut it out with the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits Oval Die, then framed it with a scalloped oval from the Ovals Framelits Dies.  Hello Baby was stamped with Basic Black Archival ink onto Whisper White card stock, then I used one of the smallest Tags & Labels Framelits to die cut it.  The Pool Party frame for the sentiment is also from the Tags & Labels Framelits.

My card base is Pool Party.  I adhered the Smoky Slate raindrop pattern from A Little Foxy DSP to a panel of Smoky Slate card stock, then to the zig-zag patterned panel from A Little Foxy.  I wrapped a length of Pool Party 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the two panels, secured it to the back with tape and tied a small bow.  Then, I popped it onto the base with Dimensionals.  The sentiment panel and the art panel were also added with Dimensionals.  A Pool Party enamel shape was the last touch to the front.

My sentiment is also from Moon Baby, and was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink onto my Whisper White panel.  More of the zig-zag patterned paper was added the bottom to carry over the theme from the front.

A complete list of supplies for my Moon Baby card and card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.
