Stampin’ Up! Time of Year for The Paper Players

I combined the Time of Year and Love & Affection stamp sets to create a card for The Paper Players Clean and Simple Challenge this week.

Time of Year Love & Affection

The challenge this week is to create a CAS card with the sentiment as the focal point.  I hope you’ll check out all of the other designs at PP#332.

Paper Players #332

I started with a panel of Cucumber Crush as my base.  When I paired it with Night of Navy, I felt like I needed to do something to the Night of Navy besides just creating a frame with Copper Foil paper.  So, I pulled out my Floral Affections Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and dry embossed the Night of Navy layer.  The folder is smaller than most Embossing Folders so I was able to move the panel and emboss different sections .  I actually ran it through 4 different times, embossing the corners and some of the middle.

Time of Year and Love & Affection

Thinking of You is the main sentiment in the Time of Year Host stamp set, and I stamped it in Versa Mark ink on a panel of Crumb Cake card stock.  Then, I sprinkled it with Copper Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. Once dry, it was cut out with the largest square from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.   The frame is the largest scalloped square from that same set of framelits.   I chose the small flower image from Love & Affection and stamped a panel of Watermelon Wonder with more Versa Mark ink, then Copper Emboss Powder.  The flower was then fussy cut with my Paper Snips.

Time of Year and Love & Affection

For the center strip, I chose the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP and used more Copper Foil for a frame for it.  Once all the parts were completed, I began adhering them from the bottom up.  The Night of Navy panel was adhered to the Foil with glue, then adhered to the card base with Dimensionals. The center strip was adhered with glue, then the sentiment panel popped on with Dimensionals. I added the flower last with a small Dimensional.

The inside of my card is simple, too

Time of Year and Love & Affection

I used the sentiment from Love & Affection and stamped it in Versa Mark, then heat embossed it with Copper Emboss Powder.

A complete list of stamping supplies and card stock cuts in inches for my Time of Year and Love & Affection card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Stylized Birthday for Sunday Stamps

I’m sharing a birthday card today that was created with the Stylized Birthday stamp and a peek of another new stamp, Dragonfly Dreams, available January 4, 2017!

stylized birthday

My card design was inspired by Sunday Stamps SSC140.  I hope you will check out all of the other cards posted there and play along, too!

SSC140

I started by stamping the Stylized Birthday, Happy Birthday stamp in Soft Sky onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock. Then, I die cut the panel with a Layering Square Framelits Die, and framed it with the larger scalloped Square Framelits Die, using Blushing Bride card stock.  I added a Sweet Sugarplum butterfly that was die cut with the Butterfly Framelits dies. Some Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for interest on the butterfly center and on the corner of the panel.

stylized birthday

Are you wondering about that DSP panel with the butterflies?  It is from the new Falling In Love Suite available on January 4th, too!  I have it layered with Crumb Cake card stock.  The long center panel is also from the Falling In Love DSP pack.  I used some of the Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim on either side of it, and adhered it to the DSP panel with liquid glue.

stylized birthday

Dimensionals were added to the sentiment panel and also the DSP panel before popping them onto the Blushing Bride card stock base.

stylized birthday

The sentiment is from the new Dragonfly Dreams stamp set (available January 4th) and was stamped in Soft Sky onto the Very Vanilla panel.  I added two more of the same butterfly shapes, using Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride card stock.  The sides of the panel were trimmed with narrow pieces of the Falling In Love DSP used on the front of my card.

Stampin’ Up! Floral Affection

Today’s share uses the new Floral Affection textured impressions embossing folder or TIEF for short.

Floral Affection

The inspiration for the layout is from CAS(E) this sketch, #179.

CTS_179

I’m also playing along with the color challenge at Can You Case It #127.

CYCI127

I really love these colors together, don’t you?

Floral Affection

I started by dry embossing my Whisper White panel with the Floral Affection TIEF, then pulled out my Pear Pizzaz, Tempting Turquoise. and Night of Navy markers, and colored the raised images created by the embossing.  This art panel was then adhered to the Tempting Turquoise and Night of Navy Panels with glue.  Then, I popped the layered art panel onto the Pear Pizzaz card base with dimensionals.

Floral Affection

Next, I created a Night of Navy banner using my Banner Triple Punch and stamped it with a sentiment from Rose Wonder in Versa Mark and heat embossed it in Copper Embossing powder.  The flower images are from Love and Affection and they are also heat embossed with Copper powder.  By the way, the Love and Affection stamp set coordinates with the Floral Affection TIEF.  Check out the spread on pages 44 & 45 in the Annual catalog to see them together.

Floral Affection

I re-created the outside image for the inside of my card using stamps from Love and Affection, and stamped them in Pear Pizzaz, Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise inks.

Card stock cuts in inches and products used are at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection for CTS #176

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are having a wonderful day. We have had beautiful weather in Georgia the past several days, but the humidity is creeping back up to match the thermometer’s rising!    My share for today is from Love & Affection from Stampin’ Up!  This is one of the new stamp sets that I shared with you last week.

Love & Affection

My sketch inspiration is from CAS(E) This Sketch # 176.  Don’t forget to have a look at all of the entries and join in the fun!

CTS_176

Love & Affection is a photopolymer set, so it is really easy to stamp on the images.  I started by stamping the large flower in Versa Mark ink onto Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron, then sprinkled them with Copper Embossing powder and heated them till shiny.  Once they cooled, I fussy cut them, and stamped the leaves in Cucumber Crush.  They are heat embossed in Copper and fussy cut also.

Love & Affection

I punched a panel of Watermelon Wonder with the Banner Triple Punch, inked the sentiment with Versa Mark and used the Copper Embossing powder.  With all of those flowers on the card, I just had to create a butterfly-so I pulled out the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and yes, once again, used that wonderful new Copper Embossing Powder!  The butterfly is also fussy cut.

Love & Affection

The Affectionately Yours DSP pairs with Love & Affection so nicely!  I cut a panel and framed it with Night of Navy, then popped it onto the Crumb Cake card base with dimensionals, then glued the banner down and arranged the flowers, leaves and butterfly onto the front with dimensionals also.

If you peek closely, you will see a strip of Affectionately Yours DSP on the inside Crumb Cake panel that was snailed to the Crumb Cake base, leaving lots of room to write a note to the recipient.

Card stock cuts in inches and products used for my Love & Affection card will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection Hello

I am using the new Love &  Affection stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for my share today, along with Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper.

Love & Affection

The sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #239 was the inspiration for my card layout,  and I used a little liberty with the “any shape”  designation.

FMS Final 239-001

Love & Affection

For the art piece, I used the new Floral Affection TIEF to emboss a panel of Crumb Cake card stock. Then I used a Night of Navy marker to color the raised edges of the design.  I got the idea to color it from a card I saw on Pinterest. See it HERE.  Once colored, I used the Project Life Corner punch to round the edges, then attached it to a panel of Night of Navy with rounded corners.  Basic Pearl Jewels were added to the flower centers.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners, stamped in Night of Navy, then die cut with the smallest die from the Banners Framelits. I framed it with another banner of the same size in Night of Navy.  It is cut in half and attached at either end of the Crumb Cake banner with glue.  I added a small flower from the Love & Affection set as well as a bow of Linen Thread.

Love & Affection

For the inside, I stamped some of the flower images from Love & Affection in Night of Navy onto a panel of Crumb Cake and attached it to the Crumb Cake card base with glue.  I love how crisp and clean these flower images look when stamped!  Here is the card with it’s embellished Crumb Cake envelope:

Love & Affection

Love & Affection, as well as the Floral Affection TIEF, would be a wonderful addition to your stamp collection!  If you are like me, I have a long list of “have to have” stamp sets on my to order soon list 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Swirly Bird Missing You

Hi Stampers!  This has been a crazy week for me and I have not posted since last Saturday, but I’m caught up (is anyone ever caught up?) at least for the next few days!  HA-HA.  Anyway, you’re here to see a card, not hear about my busyness…….

My share for you today uses 3 new stamp sets, but the featured set is Swirly Bird.  What a fun new bunch of stamps and it bundles with the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies.  You can find them on pages 152 and 194 in the new Annual Catalog.

Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird

The inspiration for the sketch is from Stamp, Ink, Paper SIP#50.  Head over and check out all of the great cards featured there.

SIP-Sketch-Challenge-50-800-768x994

There are so many possibilities with the Swirly Bird stamp set.  The more I see it, the more I love these stamps!  The Whisper White panel is stamped with swirls in Mint Macaron, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake inks and framed with a little larger panel of Mint Macaron card stock.  One of the swirly scribbles was die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and attached to the art piece with multipurpose liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird

The bird, in Island Indigo, was stamped onto a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock and fussy cut.  The eggs are in Mint Macaron and the nest in Soft Suede, also stamped onto the Thick paper and fussy cut.  They are attached with dimensionals.

My banner is from Thoughtful Banners, found on page 73, and can also be bundled with the new Duet Banner Punch found on page 186. It is stamped in Island Indigo onto Whisper White and framed with another banner punched in Island Indigo card stock.

I added some rhinestones to the front to add a little bling.

Swirly Bird

I stamped a few more swirls on the inside Whisper White panel and stamped a sentiment from the other new stamp set,  Love and Affection.  It is found on page 45.

There are so many wonderful new stamp sets in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!  I hope you have enjoyed my take on the new Swirly Birds, Thoughtful Banners and Love and Affection stamp sets!  Stay tuned for more samples of these great stamps and bundles!

If for some reason you have not received the new catalog and would like one, please contact me.
