Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

We’re back with another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop for you today.  I used Birthday Blooms, from Stampin’ Up!, to create my card to share with you.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms by Cardiology by Jari

We have a color challenge this week, and Mint Macaron has truly been a wonderful color the last two years!  Make sure you order anything from the 2015-2017 In-Color Collection soon because they retire June 1st.   Those items will vanish fast!

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I’m also playing along with the Coming Up Flowers Challenge #93 At Stamp Ink Paper this week.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 93

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper and the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  The large flower image was stamped in Versa Mark ink, and heat embossed using White Emboss Powder.  Then, I began to color in the flowers with my Watercolor Pen and Calypso Coral ink.  Once it was dry, I came back in and water colored Mint Macaron on all of the leaf images.  Finally, I colored in the center of the bloom with more water coloring in Daffodil Delight.  The Mint Macaron dotted images are also from Birthday Blooms, and were added last.

I used the sentiment from Jar of Love, and the Banners Framelits Dies for my banner cut outs. The Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine is really White Baker’s Twine that I dyed using vinegar and my Calypso Coral re-inker.  It was my first time trying this technique.  Luckily, I realized in enough time that I was out of the Calypso Coral twine, and dyed some ahead of when I needed it, so it had time to dry!  I’m happy with the results, and will try this again with other colors.

For the inside, I chose a sentiment from Floral Phrases and stamped it in Mint Macaron.  My small flower is from Birthday Blooms and was stamped in Calypso Coral.

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! supplies needed to complete this project, as well as card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Now, you can continue the hop to see what Kristi has created for us today.

Spring Jar of Love for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Amy's Inkin' Krew Team Blog Hop

Spring, ah, spring!  A favorite time of year and our theme for this month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop.  So glad you have joined us today.  I used the Jar of Love Bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share with you.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love for Spring Cardiology by Jari

I started by tearing the edges of a panel of Whisper White card stock and then sponged the edges lightly with Crumb Cake ink and a Sponge Dauber.  Next, the water from Jar of Love was stamped onto a panel of Whisper White after I stamped it off once on a scrap piece of paper.  I just wanted the water to barely show.  The jar was stamped in Smoky Slate right over the water, then I cut it out using the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love Spring card by Cardiology by Jari

I stamped several of the flower images from Jar of Love, using colors I think of in spring.  This is a two step stamp set, meaning for some of the images, you stamp twice.  I decided to use Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Wild Wasabi, Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake in the arrangement.  To achieve the two color look in the flowers, I stamped off the base of the flower before actually stamping it onto Whisper White, then came back with the second stamp full strength. The stems and leaves were stamped full strength.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love for Spring Cardiology by Jari

Next, I adhered the jar onto the torn panel.   Then, I  stamped some stems in the water and a couple of greenery sprigs right onto the torn panel just above the jar top so they would peek out of the arrangement.  All of the flower heads and leaves were die cut and I began to put the spring arrangement together using Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.   I had some stray strands of Burlap Ribbon that had been pulled apart, so I put them together and tied a bow for the top of the jar.

I left the inside fairly plain for writing and added 3 left over small flowers to the right bottom with Liquid Glue.

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! products used to create my spring card and card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Christmas Gift Tags and Blog Candy Reminder

christmas Gift Tags

Are your presents all wrapped and under the tree?  If so , you are way ahead of me!!  I am sharing some Christmas Gift Tags for you today using several of the wonderful products from the 2016 Holiday Catalog, soon to be replaced by all of the wonderful new products from Stampin’ Up!  Before I share them, though, I want to remind you I am giving away some blog candy this weekend.  Check out my post from yesterday HERE that tells you all about it.

Here is a group shot of the Christmas Gift Tags.

Christmas Gift Tags

I didn’t just make them flat tags, though, they are folded, and I have stamped the To and From on the inside.

Christmas Gift Tags

For these tags, I used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies.  I used the largest die to cut the base stocking in Whisper White Thick card stock.  I cut a 2 1/4″ x 5″ panel of Whisper White and scored it at 2 1/2″.  Then, I placed the large plain stocking die on my paper with the top edge of the die just above the top of the paper (where the fold was) and ran it through the Big Shot.  Next, I used Real Red, Cucumber Crush and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to create  the cute cut outs. stocking tops and bows.  I used my 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch to create a hole for the tie.

This next picture shows how I stamped the inside of all of the gift tags.

Christmas Gift Tags

Here is a close up of the tag created with the Jar of Love, Jar of Cheer and the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies.

Christmas Gift Tags

For this gift tag, I used Kraft card stock.  I stamped the jar and the snowman image in Soft Suede ink. Then I inked the snow image from Jar of Cheer in Versa Mark ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I colored in the scarf, hat and nose with Cucumber Crush, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers.  To cut out the tag, I lined up the jar framelit at the top of the fold in the paper.  I let it hang over the top edge just a little so that I would have another folded tag.  I used the lid stamp from Jar of Love and stamped it in Real Red onto Whisper White card stock and die cut it.  The holly and berries are from Hang Your Stocking.  I also used a little Wink of Stella to make the snow areas sparkle!

I wanted to try my hand at one more tag with a fold, so I stamped the gingerbread boy from Cookie Cutter Christmas in Crumb Cake ink onto Whisper White thick card stock.  That was too thick for my Cookie Cutter Punch, so I switched to regular Whisper White card stock.  I cut another panel about 2″ x 5″, folded it in half and stamped right at the top of the fold, then punched it out making sure I left some of the fold in tact.  Hopefully, that makes sense!

I punched a hole again and added some of the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine (used in all of the tags) so that the tag can be attached to a gift.

Are you ready to try creating some folded Christmas Gift Tags?

Products used in creating my gift tags are listed at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Jar of Love Fall Treat Box

I have a fun little treat box to share with you today.  Since it is October 1st, I thought it fitting to begin the month with something more fall-ish.  Even though I have seen very little fall weather, I know someone reading this is probably experiencing it!  And, I hope enjoying it!

This month is just the beginning of a season of treat giving, too.  All of the store aisles are packed with Halloween candies, then there will be all of the fall flavors of Thanksgiving and of course, all of the cookies, candies, and homemade deliciousness of Christmas .  So, a little treat box to hold all of these goodies is in order, or maybe three!

treat box

This treat box is so easy to make!  I used Kraft card stock for the actual box.  The details on the size and score lines are at the end of the post.  I used the Acorny Thank You stamp set for the acorns.  They are stamped in Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  I punched them out with the Acorn Builder Punch.  The leaves are stamped with the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  I used Soft Suede ink on Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie card stock and die cut them with the Leaflets Framelits.

treat box

I pulled out the largest jar from Jar of Love and stamped it in Soft Suede ink onto my Kraft card stock, then die cut the center with Everyday Jars Framelits.  The jar lid was also stamped with Soft Suede and die cut.  I popped the lid onto the treat box with dimensionals, then added the acorn/leaf bundle with some glue dots.  A length of Gold Baker’s Twine was tied into a bow and also added with a glue dot.
