Stampin’ Up! Time of Year Host Set Sneak Peek

My share for today is a quick and easy card using Time of Year, a host stamp set from the new 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

Time of Year

While browsing through my new catalog, I noticed this card (a very similar one) on page 200, with Quick + Easy written in the corner.  So, I decided to make it my own by changing the colors a little, adding a couple of more layers and fussy cutting the banner and popping it onto the front with dimensionals.  (Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies are available on June 1st, so no more fussy cutting these banners)

The one pictured in the catalog is all one layer, which makes it very quick and easy, but even though mine has a couple of layers, it should be classified as very quick and easy, too.  It’s nice to have a card started and finished in a matter of minutes, right?

Time of Year

Time of Year is a great stamp set to use many times of the year, hence the name!  The other banner sentiments say Christmas, Birthday and Time of Year and the words At, This and On Your. Plus, you have the flowers as above, an acorn and leaf and holly berries and leaves to add as accents.  This set is photopolymer, too.

Time of Year

Remember, Time of Year is a host set, and can only be purchased when you host a Stampin’ Up! party, or you may use your Stampin’ Rewards earned from hosting a party to buy host only items.

Steps to make this card:

  1. Stamp the sentiment in Wild Wasabi onto a panel of Whisper White card stock
  2. Stamp the flowers in Flirty Flamingo (available June 1st) on either side of the sentiment
  3. Stamp the banner in Peekaboo Peach (available June 1st) onto a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock
  4. Punch out the banner with Bunch of Banners Framelits (available June 1st) and adhere it to the front with dimensionals
  5. Snail the art piece to a panel of Wild Wasabi
  6. Pop the framed art piece onto the Whisper White Thick card stock base
  7. Add some Pearls Basic jewels to the front

Card stock cuts are at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! A Whole Lot of Lovely

Today’s card is inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps SSC 110:

I stamped the flower image from A Whole Lot of Lovely, one of the super Host Sets, with Basic Gray ink onto a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to create a patterned background. This layer was glued to a tad larger piece of Basic Gray cardstock.   Next, I used Versa Mark ink and stamped another image from the same stamp set onto a piece of Melon Mambo card stock, then sprinkled it with Whisper White embossing powder.  It was heated with a Heat Tool and set aside to dry.  I adhered a piece of Melon Mambo Brights DSP onto the Smoky Slate with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment was punched with a 2″ Circle Punch and glued to a 2 3/8″ Scallop circle (Smoky Slate) and a 2 1/2″ Circle (Basic Gray). A strip of Whisper White Organza ribbon was attached with Tear and Tape and then Dimensionals were added to the back before placing this layer onto the Whisper White Thick cardstock base.  Then the sentiment was added with Dimensionals.

And finally, the inside:
