Background Bits Host Stamps for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I am sharing the Stampin’ Up! Background Bits Host stamp set for our color challenge today.

Stampin' Up! Background Bits Host Set-Cardiology by Jari

We are playing with Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo and Black this week.

Color Challenge for Happy Innkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I started by stamping the splatter image from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Flirty Flamingo onto a Whisper White panel, near the center. (I stamped off twice, then onto the panel)  Then, I adhered panels of Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper along the side and bottom of the stamped panel.  A length of Flirty Flamingo 3/8″ Striped Ribbon was adhered with some Tear & Tape adhesive at the top of the black DSP and around to the back of the panel.

Using my Banner Triple punch, I punched one end of a panel of Emerald Envy Naturally Eclectic DSP and adhered it above the ribbon.  Next, I wrapped a length of Basic Black Baker’s Twine around the panel three times and tied a bow.

Using my Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write Markers, I inked up the flower image stamp from the Background Bits Host stamp set, huffed on it several times and stamped it onto a panel of Whisper White.  (Huffing on it makes the ink moist again) I used my Layering Circle Framelits Dies to cut out the flowers and then mat it with a scalloped circle in Flirty Flamingo.

I wanted a fairly small sentiment, so I used the All Things Thanks stamp set.  It was die cut using the smallest banner die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  The banner was adhered with the small Stampin’ Dimensionals, then the circle art panel adhered to the card front with regular Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The last step was to add the whole art panel to the Emerald Envy card base with more dimensionals.

The bottom of the inside panel was stamped with another image from the Background Bits Host set in Flirty Flamingo, and Thank You was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.

A complete list of stamping supplies and card stock cuts are at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Thankful Life for TGIFc98

I used the Thankful Life Host Exclusive stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share with you today.

Stampin' Up! Thankful Life by Cardiology by Jari

The inspiration for my card design is from the sketch at TGIFc98 this week

TGIFc98

Thankful Life, is a Host Exclusive set, which means you must Host a Stampin’ Up! event to purchase it, or you could join my Online Host Club and purchase it the month you are the host.  See all of the information about joining my Online Host Club farther down in my post.

One of the things I love about Thankful Life is that it is a photopolymer stamp set and so easy to line up all of the images!  I stamped the vase first in Mint Macaron onto a panel of Whisper White, then added the three different images of flowers onto the panel.  I used Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and Mint Macaron ink.   Then, I stamped one more vase in Mint Macaron and cut it out with my Paper Snips and added a bow with Linen Thread.  It was popped on top of the original stamped vase with Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Thankful Life by Cardiology by Jari

I stamped one of the smallest butterflies from Papillon Potpourri in Watermelon Wonder, onto a panel of Peekaboo Peach and punched it out with my Bitty Butterfly Punch.  The sentiment is from All Things Thanks and was stamped in Tip Top Taupe, then die cut with the small banner from Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies.  I cut an extra banner in Tip Top Taupe and adhered it to the back of the sentiment banner.  I used a Mint Macaron Doily from the 2015-2017 In Color Doilies pack with a little Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper underneath it before adhering it to my Peekaboo Peach layers.  To add just a little more bling, I place three Rhinestones opposite the butterfly and popped the art panel and the banner onto the front with Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Thankful Life by Cardiology by Jari

I stamped the Thankful Life sentiment in Tip Top Taupe ink, then stamped a butterfly in Peekaboo Peach.  A strip of the Playful Palette DSP that I used on the front was added to the bottom and all adhered to the Mint Macaron card stock base with liquid glue.

A complete list of stamping supplies used to create this card will be at the end of my post along with card stock cuts in inches.

Stampin’ Up! Time of Year Host Set Sneak Peek

My share for today is a quick and easy card using Time of Year, a host stamp set from the new 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

Time of Year

While browsing through my new catalog, I noticed this card (a very similar one) on page 200, with Quick + Easy written in the corner.  So, I decided to make it my own by changing the colors a little, adding a couple of more layers and fussy cutting the banner and popping it onto the front with dimensionals.  (Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies are available on June 1st, so no more fussy cutting these banners)

The one pictured in the catalog is all one layer, which makes it very quick and easy, but even though mine has a couple of layers, it should be classified as very quick and easy, too.  It’s nice to have a card started and finished in a matter of minutes, right?

Time of Year

Time of Year is a great stamp set to use many times of the year, hence the name!  The other banner sentiments say Christmas, Birthday and Time of Year and the words At, This and On Your. Plus, you have the flowers as above, an acorn and leaf and holly berries and leaves to add as accents.  This set is photopolymer, too.

Time of Year

Remember, Time of Year is a host set, and can only be purchased when you host a Stampin’ Up! party, or you may use your Stampin’ Rewards earned from hosting a party to buy host only items.

Steps to make this card:

  1. Stamp the sentiment in Wild Wasabi onto a panel of Whisper White card stock
  2. Stamp the flowers in Flirty Flamingo (available June 1st) on either side of the sentiment
  3. Stamp the banner in Peekaboo Peach (available June 1st) onto a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock
  4. Punch out the banner with Bunch of Banners Framelits (available June 1st) and adhere it to the front with dimensionals
  5. Snail the art piece to a panel of Wild Wasabi
  6. Pop the framed art piece onto the Whisper White Thick card stock base
  7. Add some Pearls Basic jewels to the front

Card stock cuts are at the end of the post.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

I attached a panel of floral paper from Pretty Petals (retiring) to Basic Black with MP glue, then wrapped a length of Black Baker’s Twine around this panel 3 times.  It is secured with tape, then surrounded with dimensionals and attached to the Blushing Bride card base.  My sentiment, from A Whole Lot of Lovely, was colored with Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Old Olive markers first, then I huffed on it a few times and stamped onto a panel of Whisper White.

Next, I pulled out the banner die from Rose Garden Thinlets and die cut the sentiment, popped on some dimensionals and attached it over the twine. Then, I added a Pearl  to the center of the small stamped flower.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from A Whole Lot of Lovely using the same technique with markers.  I used another piece of the Pretty Petals paper to frame the Whisper White sentiment panel.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

The Whisper White envelope is decorated with the flower image from A Whole Lot of Lovely on the front left corner as well as on the back flap.

Stampin’ Up! A Whole Lot of Lovely

My share for today is from the Stampin’ Up1 Whole Love of Lovely Host stamp set.

Today’s card is inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps SSC 110:

And my color inspiration is from the Just Add Ink Inspiration Challenge # 282:

I stamped the flower image from A Whole Lot of Lovely, one of the super Host Sets, with Basic Gray ink onto a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to create a patterned background. This layer was glued to a tad larger piece of Basic Gray cardstock.   Next, I used Versa Mark ink and stamped another image from the same stamp set onto a piece of Melon Mambo card stock, then sprinkled it with Whisper White embossing powder.  It was heated with a Heat Tool and set aside to dry.  I adhered a piece of Melon Mambo Brights DSP onto the Smoky Slate with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A Whole Lot of Lovely Card-iology by Jari

The sentiment was punched with a 2″ Circle Punch and glued to a 2 3/8″ Scallop circle (Smoky Slate) and a 2 1/2″ Circle (Basic Gray). A strip of Whisper White Organza ribbon was attached with Tear and Tape and then Dimensionals were added to the back before placing this layer onto the Whisper White Thick cardstock base.  Then the sentiment was added with Dimensionals.

And finally, the inside:
