Spooky Fun

I decided to make 3 treat bags for one installment of grandchildren- I need to make 5 more very soon!  I used my Mini Treat Bags Thinlets dies for the bags, the tree die from the Thoughtful Branches set (order soon before it is gone),  plus the Spooky Fun stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.

I think they are really cute, but kids will like them much more like this:

I’ll give more details plus products used at the end of my post

But now, time to hop on around to Kristi Gray’s blog.  A list of our team is just below the forward icon in case you want to hop around again.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Mini Treat Bag and Weekly Deals

I made a quick treat bag to go along with the card I made in yesterday’s post.  Click here to see my card if you missed it.  I used the Stampin’ Up Mini Treat Bag Thinlets Die set to create my Halloween treat bag and the spider and web from the Happy Scenes stamp set.  The sentiment and Witch’s hat are from the September Paper Pumpkin kit.  I am getting a lot of use of these stamps!

I also used the Square Pillow BoxThinlets Dies for the little banner of pumpkins and for the cut out the sentiment is stamped on. I used my Banner Triple punch for the longer banner.  My bag was cut from a retired piece of DSP:( that was just screaming for me to use it!

Here is the list of current items I used for the Happy Scenes Mini Treat Bag:

This is a quick and easy card for those of you wanting to stamp, but do not have a lot of time!

  • Stamp the images on a Whisper White Strip in Basic Black Archival and Tangelo Twist inks
  • Layer the image on a strip of Tangelo Twist stripe DSP and adhere with snail, then snail the panel of Timeless Elegance DSP onto a panel of Tangelo Twist
  • Wrap a length of Basic Black baker’s twine around your layered piece 3 times and attach it to the back with glue
  • Stamp your sentiment onto a strip of Whisper White, use the smallest of the Banner Thinlets, and run it through the Big Shot. Then, using the same banner, cut a piece of Basic Black and Tangelo Twist. Layer these 3 with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and pop them up with Dimensionals to the front panel.  Add a bow with a glue dot.
  • Stamp the witch’s hat onto a piece of Whisper White and fussy cut with Paper Snips and pop on with a Dimensional
  •  Pop the card front onto your Basic Black card base with Dimensionals
  • Stamp the inside and layer your panels with snail or glue

Card cuts and supplies will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! September Paper Pumpkin

Have you seen the September Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up! ?  Every month, I am so excited to see what is in store for me.  This month’s kit is so cute.

Sept Paper Pumpkin

This kit contains enough supplies for 8 treat bags and tags, and the stamps are very fun, too!

I have 8 grandchildren, so this kit is perfect for me for Halloween treats for them.  Just don’t tell my husband there wasn’t one for him ok? 😈 Here is one of the bags I made:

Paper Pumpkin Sept 2015 Card-iology by Jari

I decided I wanted to also make a Halloween card using some of the stamps from this set, so I began to pull together all of the stamps I thought I could combine to make a Halloween scene.  I pulled out Sheltering Tree, Happy Scenes and of course, the September Paper Pumpkin offerings.  Here is what I came up with:

Halloween Sheltering Tree and Happy Scenes Card-iology by Jari

First, I stamped the tree from the Sheltering Tree set in Memento Black ink onto a panel of Whisper White.  I decided it needed some spiders to make it a little more creepy, so I masked off the web part of the stamp with scotch tape and inked up the spider and its dragline from Happy Scenes in Memento Black ink and stamped it as if they were hanging  from the 3 branches. Then, I added the rake which was stamped in Memento Black.  The leaves were inked with Delightful Dijon and Tangelo Twist and stamped across the bottom of the card.

Halloween

The pumpkins were cut out with a die from the Square Pillow Box Thinlets Dies and decorated with a Black Stampin’ Write marker, and popped up with Dimensionals.  I stamped the Witch’s Hat from the Paper Pumpkin set in Memento Black right onto the Whisper White piece and added the Boo sentiment from the Happy Scenes set also in Memento Black.  Happy Haunting, also from September Paper Pumpkin, was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White in Tangelo Twist ink. I used the smallest banner from the Banners Framelits die set to cut it out and trimmed the left end a little so that I could frame it in a piece of Tangelo Twist that had also been cut out with the same banner.

Halloween Sheltering Tree

For the inside, I stamped a pumpkin from the Paper Pumpkin stamps and a sentiment from the Happy Scenes set in Tangelo Twist, and the Boo, also from Happy Scenes, in Memento Black.  I added a left over strip of the DSP  to the bottom with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
