Jar of Cheer for Paper Craft Crew Challenge #219

I used the Jar of Cheer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge this week.

Jar of Cheer

Here is the sketch for PCC #219.  Please make sure to stop by and check out what everyone created.

I started by stamping the snowman and snow onto a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the snow from Merriest Wishes, in Smoky Slate, stamping off once before stamping onto the panel.  Then, I stamped it again with Versa Mark ink and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds powder and heat embossed it.  The snowman image, from Jar of Cheer, was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used my Project Life Corner Punch to round the edges of the art panel and the Basic Black card stock panel that frames it.

Next, I  adhered a panel of Warmth & Cheer DSP onto a panel of Basic Black and tied a bow around it with a length  of Cucumber Crush Thick Baker’s Twine. The Baker’s Twine was first secured with a little tape on the back of this panel, then I added dimensionals and adhered the panel to the Whisper White Thick card stock base.  A piece of silver Metallic Doily was glued to the right side and then the snow man panel added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out the Flurry of Wishes stamp set thinking I would use one of the snow flake images for the front, but once made, I decided against it.  But, I did use the sentiment from Flurry of Wishes for my little banner.  It was stamped in Versa Mark ink and White Embossing powder was sprinkled on and then heated.  The snowflake is the center of one of the stockings in the Christmas Stocking Thinlets Dies.  I used a scrap of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for it and added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center.

For the inside, I added another panel of Whisper White card stock and stamped it with another sentiment from Jar of Cheer in Cucumber Crush ink.  A little strip of Sweater Weather DSP was added to the bottom, then the whole panel adhered to the card base.

Card stock cuts and a list of supplies are at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Flurry of Wishes for Fab Friday76

I got the inspiration for my card today from Fab Friday 76. Please head over there to check out all of the wonderful creations and you may want to play along, too.  Here is the sketch I was working with:

Fab Friday Logos-078

I used the Flurry of Wishes stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card:

Flurry of Wishes FabFri76 Card-iology by JariI began by stamping the Flurry Of Wishes snowflakes with Versa Mark ink onto Bermuda Bay and Whisper White Thick card stock and embossed them with Silver Embossing Powder.  I fussy cut the 2 larger snowflakes and punched out the smaller one for the center with my Snow Flurry Punch.  It will punch 2 snowflakes at a time–however, I only needed one for the center. The Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum was attached to a panel of Whisper White Thick cardstock with small dots of glue from my Fine Tip Glue Pen.  You have to be pretty particular with vellum as the adhesive will show through unless you disguise it with an embellishment over it or just place small dots of glue where the image on the paper will hide it. After it dried, I used Fast Fuse and attached to a little larger panel of Silver Foil.

Next, I cut a length of Bermuda Bay sequin trim and taped it on the back of the Fancy Foil panel with some scotch tape.  Once I had it where I wanted it, I added a little drop or two of glue to keep it in place, then adhered a large Silver Metallic Foil Doily with Fast Fuse to the center of the card.  the snowflakes were popped onto the doily with Dimensionals and I added an Iced Rhinestone to the center.  The sentiment, also from Flurry of Wishes, was stamped on a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock with Versa Mark and then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and die cut with one of the banners from the Bitty Banners Framelits. It is also added with Dimensionals.  All of this layer was placed onto the Bermuda Bay card base using Dimensionals.

I added a few loose sequins that had been topped with regular Rhinestones jewels and attached them with Glue Dots.  The envelope was lined with some of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum that was used on the card front, and the inside sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White Thick card stock with Versa Mark ink and Silver Embossing Powder.
