Stampin’ Up! Paisleys & Posies Thankful Card for the Happy Stampers

Happy Stampers Blog Hop

I am using Paisleys & Posies from Stampin’ Up! for my share for the Happy Stampers Hop today.  I think the Paisley Framelits Dies are just awesome, too. Bundle Paisleys & Posies and Paisley Framelits and save 10%.

We have a sketch to work with this week, why not try your hand at it, too?

Happy Stampers Sketch challenge

I made my card horizontal rather than vertical:

Paisleys & posies

I started with the beautifully patterned Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper in Rich Razzleberry.  It was framed with a little larger panel of Mint Macaron and adhered to it with liquid glue.  Next, I die cut the Gold Foil images from the Paisley Framelits Dies.

Paisleys & Posies

I cut a strip of Mint Macaron Cardstock and punched one end with my Banner Triple Punch.  I inked up Thankful-Grateful-Blessed from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set in Versa Mark ink, sprinkled it with Gold Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I decided where I wanted the Paisley cut outs to go and grouped them with a little Gold 1./4″ Natural Trim and a bow of Gold Baker’s Twine.  I used some glue dots to hold them together and glued them to the banner.

Paisleys & Posies

Both the banner, and the DSP panel were popped onto the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock base with dimensionals.

Paisleys & Posies

I stamped some of the Paisley images from Paisleys & Posies on the Very Vanilla Cardstock with Rich Razzleberry ink.  Then, I added the sentiment from the same set with Versa Mark ink and Gold Emboss Powder.

A complete list of the products and card stock cuts are at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Mats and Scoring Blades Now Available!

Stampin’ Up! just announced that they are bringing back the replacement Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Mats (item 131375)  and Scoring Blades (item 126995). These items are available for you to start ordering now.  Keep in mind that the cutting blade that comes with the Stampin’ Trimmer does not make contact with the cutting mat so it should not wear the mat down.  And, like the cutting mat, the scoring blade is made to last and will not wear out. These replacement items may be helpful for you if you lose a piece or prefer to have extras on hand.

Fall for Petals & Paisleys

Amy's Inkin' Krew Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by for our Fall/Halloween Blog Hop!  I decided to create a Fall card using the Paisleys and Posies stamp set and the Paisley Framelits Dies Bundle for my share today. We are finally getting some beautiful fall weather and I know the leaves will be changing soon.  This Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper reminds me of those Fall leaves!

Fall

This card came together very quickly, too!  I started with  a Delightful Dijon card base, and layered a panel of Mint Macaron card stock on top with liquid glue.  Next, I cut a panel of the beautiful Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper and layered it onto a little larger panel of Very Vanilla.  Then it was time for some stamping and die cutting!

Fall

I inked up the sentiment from Paisleys & Posies in Versa Mark onto a panel of Very Vanilla, and sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, then heat embossed it. It is die cut with a Layering Oval Die, then framed with a little larger Mint Macaron scalloped Oval Die.  I pulled out some Gold Foil card stock and the “leaf” shaped die from the Paisley Framelits Dies and die cut 2.  Burlap Ribbon was adhered to the DSP layers with Tear & Tape adhesive, then I popped that layer onto the card base.  Some Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron 3/8″ Ribbon and Gold Sequin Trim are tied to the leaves with Gold Baker’s Twine and attached to the sentiment and then popped onto the front with dimensionals.

Fall

The inside sentiment is also from Paisleys & Posies and again, stamped in Versa Mark ink and Gold Embossing Powder.  A strip of Gold Foil lines the strip of Petals & Paisleys Specialty DSP  at the bottom of the Very Vanilla inside panel.

Supplies will be listed at the bottom of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Notecard and Weekly Deals

I used the Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You to create a really quick and easy notecard to share today.

Acorny Thank You Card-iology by JariSince I am out of town for a few days, I needed a quick and easy notecard to be able to create and give this week for Thanksgiving.  I stamped the acorn top from the Acorny Thank You stamp set from Stampin’ Up! onto a piece of Whisper White card stock with Daffodil Delight ink.  Then I punched it out with the Acorn Builder punch.  I also punched out the bottom of the acorn from a piece of Kraft Corrugated paper with the same punch.  I love how the acorn bottom turns out with this paper!

The completed acorn was then attached (with Dimensionals) to a piece of Into the Woods DSP that I punched out with my 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The whole image was then layered with more Dimensionals to the front panel of Into the Woods DSP, which I had already snailed to the front of the Whisper White Notecard. A bow was tied around the acorn stem using a strand of Linen Thread.   I added the Thanks from the Expressions Natural Elements with Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue.  So quick and so easy for a fun Thank You card!

Vintage Leaves Cardiology by Jari

I used Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves and borrowed the acorn from the September 2015 Paper Pumpkin stamp set for my stamped image on my card for today.

Stampin’ Up! September Paper Pumpkin

Have you seen this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up! ?  Every month, I am so excited to see what is in store for me.  This month’s kit is so cute.

Sept Paper Pumpkin

This kit contains enough supplies for 8 treat bags and tags, and the stamps are very fun, too!

I have 8 grandchildren, so this kit is perfect for me for Halloween treats for them.  Just don’t tell my husband there wasn’t one for him ok? 😈 Here is one of the bags I made:

Paper Pumpkin Sept 2015 Card-iology by Jari

I decided I wanted to also make a Halloween card using some of the stamps from this set, so I began to pull together all of the stamps I thought I could combine to make a Halloween scene.  I pulled out Sheltering Tree, Happy Scenes and of course, the September Paper Pumpkin offerings.  Here is what I came up with:

Halloween Sheltering Tree and Happy Scenes Card-iology by Jari

First, I stamped the tree from the Sheltering Tree set in Memento Black ink onto a panel of Whisper White.  I decided it needed some spiders to make it a little more creepy, so I masked off the web part of the stamp with scotch tape and inked up the spider and its dragline from Happy Scenes in Memento Black ink and stamped it as if they were hanging  from the 3 branches. Then, I added the rake which was stamped in Memento Black.  The leaves were inked with Delightful Dijon and Tangelo Twist and stamped across the bottom of the card.

Halloween

The pumpkins were cut out with a die from the Square Pillow Box Thinlets Dies and decorated with a Black Stampin’ Write marker, and popped up with Dimensionals.  I stamped the Witch’s Hat from the Paper Pumpkin set in Memento Black right onto the Whisper White piece and added the Boo sentiment from the Happy Scenes set also in Memento Black.  Happy Haunting, also from September Paper Pumpkin, was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White in Tangelo Twist ink. I used the smallest banner from the Banners Framelits die set to cut it out and trimmed the left end a little so that I could frame it in a piece of Tangelo Twist that had also been cut out with the same banner.

Halloween Sheltering Tree

For the inside, I stamped a pumpkin from the Paper Pumpkin stamps and a sentiment from the Happy Scenes set in Tangelo Twist, and the Boo, also from Happy Scenes, in Memento Black.  I added a left over strip of the DSP  to the bottom with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves for the first day of Autumn

Well, it is official, fall is finally here!  And so, to usher in the season, I have created a card from the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves set

Vintage Leaves Card-iology by Jari

I started by stamping several of the leaves from the Vintage Leaves set in Delightful Dijon onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Notice that some of the leaves in the background were stamped off first.  I wanted some of the leaves to be darker than others.  Next, I stamped the same leaf patterns onto Blackberry Bliss and Delightful Dijon in the same colors of ink and used the Leaflets Framelits Dies to cut them out.

For the sentiment, I chose a stamp from the For All Things set, but decided to use only a part of it.  I used some tape to cover the part I did not want, then inked it up, took off the piece of tape, then stamped onto a small piece of Very Vanilla.  I used the Banner Punch to cut it out-then punched a piece of Blackberry Bliss to fit behind it.  I positioned the punched leaves where I wanted them and attached them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The stamped leaf image was attached to a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock with glue, then that layer attached to a little larger piece of Blackberry Bliss with more glue.  I cut a length of Hello Honey 5/8″ striped cotton ribbon and wrapped it around these 3 layers and tied a knot.  This layer was then popped up onto the Delightful Dijon card base with Dimensionals.  I popped up the small sentiment that had been layered onto the piece of Blackberry Bliss with Dimensionals and glued the Celebrate Expressions Natural Element with the new Fine Tip Glue Pen.

The inside was stamped with more of the leaf patterns from the front of the card in Delightful Dijon onto another piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

Card cuts and supplies at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Give Thanks with Thankful Forest Friends

Today’s card is another take on the Thankful Forest Friends set from Stampin’ Up!  Have you noticed that I really like that little bear? 🙂

Thankful Forest Friends

For the background, I chose the new Woodland TIEF(Textured Impressions Embossing Folder).  I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock that was placed inside the folder through my Big Shot, then sponged some Soft Suede ink on the raised side using a sponge dauber to get the color on the tree trunks. I stamped the small leaf from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set in Soft Suede, Delightful Dijon, and Mossy Meadow near the branches.

Thankful Forest Friends

Next, I inked up the sentiment with my Stampin’ Write markers in Mossy Meadow, Early Expresso, Blackberry Bliss, and Delightful Dijon onto a piece of Whisper White and cut it out with a square from the Squares Collection Framelits.  I measured and cut another square 1/8″ larger to frame this image in Delightful Dijon.  The bear is inked with Soft Suede onto Whisper White and fussy cut with my Paper snips.

Thankful Forest FriendsI cut a piece of Kraft Corrugated paper a little larger than the tree image and attached them with Multipurpose glue, then wrapped a length of Gold Baker’s Twine around 3 times and tied a bow.  I popped this layer up with Dimensionals onto a piece of Delightful Dijon that was just a bit larger than this layer, then glued it down onto the Soft Suede card base.  The sentiment and bear were attached with Dimensionals.

Thankful Forest Friends Inside

For the inside, I inked up the two designs with my Stampin’ Write markers again onto Whisper White and used snail to attach it.

Card supplies and cuts will be listed at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Into the Woods DSP Thank You Notes

Today’s cards were inspired by the new Into the Woods Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!  I thought it  would be fun to make a set of thank you cards that would be quick and easy,  like 15 minutes or less to complete!

I love all of this Designer Series Paper for making fall cards.  It was difficult to pick the side of the paper I would rather feature as they are all wonderful!  The card base for each is a Whisper White Notecard.  As you can see, I used several different stamp sets for the sentiments.

Vintage LeavesThankYou Card-iology by Jari

For this card, I used the Vintage Leaves set and stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink onto the same paper and cut it with the matching leaf from the Leaflets Framelets. The DSP is layered onto a piece of Rich Razzelberry cardstock, then attached to the card base with snail. The Thanks sentiment, from Another Thank You, is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and layered onto a strip of Gold Foil paper, then finished off with a Gold Metal button and Gold Baker’s Twine.

I used the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set for this sentiment, but colored only the parts I wanted stamped with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers.  The Into the Woods DSP is layered onto a piece of Rich Razzelberry with snail.  I wrapped a strand of Old Olive Baker’s Twine around this layer 3 times and tied a bow, then attached the sentiment layer with Dimensionals.  The Into the Woods Elements leaf was sponged with some Old Olive ink before attaching with a glue dot.

For this card, I used the Hello You Thinlets for the Thanks sentiment.  I ran a piece of Tangelo Twist through the Big Shot 3 different times to get 3 layers of the word.  The layers are glued together with Stampin’ Up’s new Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  Very easy process!  The 3 layers stand out a little better than just one layer on this flat card.  The Into the Woods DSP is attached to a piece of Tangelo Twist, then attached to a slightly larger piece of Old Olive before being snailed to the card base.

And the final card is rather monochromatic, but I love the acorn paper.  The sentiment, from For All Things, is embossed in Gold embossing powder onto Whisper White, then cut out with an Ovals Collection Framelit. I framed that layer with another oval in Soft Suede.  The acorn paper was layered onto a piece of Early Expresso card stock, then a length of Gold Cording Trim was wrapped around 3 times and finished with a bow.  This layer was then attached to the card base with Multipurpose glue.  The sentiment layer was popped up with Dimensionals and finished with an acorn from the Into the Woods elements.

The products used for my projects will be listed at the end of this post.
