Jari Francis, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Wishing You Joy and a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all of you! Wishing you joy and happiness on this most special day!  Thank you for following my blog, leaving encouraging comments, and sharing my posts on Pinterest and Facebook!  I used the Hello December 2016 Project Life Accessory Pack to create my card for today.

Joy

I started with Whisper White Thick card stock for my card base and added strips of washi tape (provided in the accessory pack) to the top and bottom of the front.  Next, I pulled out two of the acetate specialty cards and layered them together.  The bottom acetate layer has white and silver trees.  The top acetate layer is the silver “joy”.  Next, I cut out a panel of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper the same size as the acetate layers and glued it to acetate by dotting small specks of glue on each Christmas tree shape.

Joy

I cut a panel of Silver Foil card stock as a frame for the acetate layers and glued them together.  Three stars from the accessory pack were added to the front under the sentiment.  Finally, I added dimensionals and popped the art panel onto the front of the card.

Joy

I think my favorite part of the card is the inside sentiment.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Star of Light stamp set for this.  It was stamped with Versa Mark and Silver Emboss Powder sprinkled over it.  Then, I flicked off the excess and heat embossed it.  The sentiment panel is Whisper White with Silver Foil layered underneath it.  For the final touch, I added more of the washi tape to the very bottom.

You will find a list of supplies as well as card stock cuts in inches at the end of the post.

Thanks for stopping in today, and again, Merry Christmas!

Joy to the World for the Paper Players

I’m using the sentiment, Joy to the World, from Tin of Tags (on the retiring list and 20% off) for the focus of my card today.

Joy to the World

My card design was inspired by The Paper Players PP323

Paper Players 323

I started by layering a panel of This Christmas Specialty DSP onto a panel of Basic Black card stock.  I really love this sheet music design!  Then I chose the floral pattern from This Christmas DSP, and paired it with a panel of Garden Green.

Joy to the World

I cut a strip of Cherry Cobbler with one of the Flourish Thinlets Dies and adhered it to a panel of Garden Green to create a banner.  Joy to the World seemed appropriate for the sentiment and was stamped with Cherry Cobbler onto a panel of Very Vanilla. I used a Stitched Framelits Die to cut it out and framed it with a scalloped Layering Circle in Cherry Cobbler.

Joy to the World

Some Gold Natural Trim and Gold Baker’s Twine (on sale) were added before popping on the sentiment with dimensionals.

Joy to the World

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Hang Your Stockings, and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  I fussy cut some of the floral This Christmas DSP, and adhered it just above to break up some of the starkness of the Very Vanilla panel.

Card stock cuts in inches are at the end of my post along with Stampin’ Up! products used to create my card.

Stampin’ Up! Tin of Tags for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Tin of Tags for Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Wow, it’s December 1st!  My share for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop today is from Tin of Tags from Stampin’ Up! The countdown is really on for completing Christmas card making!

Here is our color challenge-and it was really a challenge for me!

Tin

I got some inspiration from the SIP challenge #76, too

SIP #76

I was happy with how it turned out and I love these colors together. So glad I tried them!

Tin

Instructions:

I used Soft Sky as my card base and added layers of Whisper White and Soft Sky from the Subtles DSP stack.  My art piece was stamped with the large snowflake image from Tin of Tags in Soft Sky.  I stamped the small snowflake image from Hang Your Stocking in Sweet Sugarplum.  Then, I dry embossed the panel with my Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder and framed it with a panel of Sweet Sugarplum.

Tin

I fold/pleated two lengths of 3/8″ Sweet Sugarplum Glitter Ribbon and used glue dots to keep the folds together.  Then, I added some Tear & Tape adhesive to the backs and adhered them to the art panel.  Next I created my sentiment from Tin of Tags, coloring onto the stamp with Soft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum inks.  I cut the circles out with my Layering Circles Framelits Dies and adhered them, then popped them on with dimensionals.

A few Rhinestones Basic Jewels and Silver Sequins were added for some bling.

Inside:

Tin

I chose a different sentiment from Tin of Tags for the inside, and tried to mimic the front art panel somewhat.

Card stock cuts in inches and products used to create my card are at the end of the post

Pop of Paradise Ugly Christmas Sweater!

I’m sharing an ugly Christmas sweater I created for a fun challenge created for all of us in  Amy’s Inkin’ Krew,  by our team leader, Amy Koenders.   When she issued the challenge, I got to thinking about how much I loved flamingos, and how easy it would be to make a gaudy Christmas sweater with one.  So here goes:

ugly Christmas sweater

Do you have a favorite “ugly” Christmas sweater?  I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?  I found the measurements for the creation of the sweater part of my card HERE in case you want to make your own ugly Christmas sweater card!

First, I measured and cut my Whisper White Thick card stock base, then did the same with my Pop of Pink card stock sweater base.  I adhered them with liquid glue, then cut the neckline and waistline Pop of Pink polka dot strips.

ugly Christmas sweater

I pulled out some Melon Mambo 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon and glued it to the center front. Then, I cut a small piece of a Delicate White Doily and attached it to the center front.  Next, the neckline strips were adhered with glue.  I added the waistline “binding” with glue and then began the decorating.

I stamped the flamingo in Melon Mambo onto whisper White card stock and fussy cut with my paper snips.  My Christmas trees, bow and snow flakes were die cut with the Christmas Stockings Thinlets Dies from Silver Foil. The faux necklace, also Silver Foil, was die cut using a die from the Cheerful Tags Thinlets Dies.  I used 3 Metal Rimmed Pearls for the buttons and attached them to the snowflakes.  Pearl Basic Jewels were added to the necklace.   Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the trees, the bow, the heart, and randomly on the rest of the card.

stampin-up-ugly-christmas-sweater-cardiology-by-jari-008

I adhered a panel of Pop of Pink DSP to the inside card base.  I used the Happy Christmas stamp from Oh What Fun for the inside sentiment.  It is stamped in Melon Mambo ink.

Hope you enjoyed my ugly Christmas sweater for today!  You may want to check out some of the other team member’s cards today.  I think they are sharing too.

Jar of Cheer for Paper Craft Crew Challenge #219

I used the Jar of Cheer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge this week.

Jar of Cheer

Here is the sketch for PCC #219.  Please make sure to stop by and check out what everyone created.

I started by stamping the snowman and snow onto a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the snow from Merriest Wishes, in Smoky Slate, stamping off once before stamping onto the panel.  Then, I stamped it again with Versa Mark ink and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds powder and heat embossed it.  The snowman image, from Jar of Cheer, was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used my Project Life Corner Punch to round the edges of the art panel and the Basic Black card stock panel that frames it.

Cheer

Next, I  adhered a panel of Warmth & Cheer DSP onto a panel of Basic Black and tied a bow around it with a length  of Cucumber Crush Thick Baker’s Twine. The Baker’s Twine was first secured with a little tape on the back of this panel, then I added dimensionals and adhered the panel to the Whisper White Thick card stock base.  A piece of silver Metallic Doily was glued to the right side and then the snow man panel added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cheer

I pulled out the Flurry of Wishes stamp set thinking I would use one of the snow flake images for the front, but once made, I decided against it.  But, I did use the sentiment from Flurry of Wishes for my little banner.  It was stamped in Versa Mark ink and White Embossing powder was sprinkled on and then heated.  The snowflake is the center of one of the stockings in the Christmas Stocking Thinlets Dies.  I used a scrap of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for it and added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center.

Cheer

For the inside, I added another panel of Whisper White card stock and stamped it with another sentiment from Jar of Cheer in Cucumber Crush ink.  A little strip of Sweater Weather DSP was added to the bottom, then the whole panel adhered to the card base.

Card stock cuts and a list of supplies are at the end of the post.

Hang Your Stocking for the Happy Stampers

Hang Your Stocking for Happy Stampers Blog Hop

It’s not long until you will need to Hang Your Stocking!  Can you believe how close we are to Christmas?  Today we have a color challenge using Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla, perfect for the holidays!  So, I decided to use the Hang Your Stocking Bundle.  What a great set of stamps and Thinlets Dies!  (And, the stamps are on sale right now!)

Our colors:

Happy Stampers color challenge

Here is what I created today:

Hang Your Stocking

My Very Vanilla panel was dry embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF). then I attached some strips of Warmth & Cheer DSP with liquid glue.  I created two stockings using Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green DSP with the Christmas Stocking Thinlets Dies.  Then, I stamped the holly images from Hang Your Stocking in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.  They were die cut with the same thinlets dies and bows added with the Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio pack.

Hang Your stocking

Next, I cut out the Noel in Cherry Cobbler and attached it to the front panel with little dabs of liquid glue.  Then, Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the centers of the stockings before I popped them onto the front with dimensionals.  When I die cut the Very Vanilla part of the stockings, I wound up with a snowflake image, so I added another rhinestone to it and added it to the front with a small piece of dimensional.  The Very Vanilla panel was then added to the Cherry Cobbler base with dimensionals.

Hang your stocking

The inside Very Vanilla panel was stamped with a sentiment from Hang Your Stocking in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I used the extra snowflake on the inside, too, but attached it with glue.  My little Christmas trees are die cut from the Christmas Stocking Thinlets Dies and are also attached with liquid glue.

Card stock cuts in inches and products used are at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Time of Year Step It Up!

This month I was challenged to create a CAS (clean and simple) card and then, using the same basic card, Step It Up! by adding something extra.  So, today, I am sharing two cards I created.  One CAS, and one Step It Up!, using the Host Exclusive stamp set, Time of Year. You know, is a great stamp set to use all year round.

Here is my CAS card:

step it up

This is a one layer card-I know, not something I do very much, but I’m happy with its simplicity!  I stamped directly onto my Whisper White card base with Real Red.  I used my Emerald Envy and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers for the holly image, coloring them and then huffing onto the stamp a few times before stamping onto the card.  Then, I  added some Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape to the bottom and tied a strand of the Candy Cane Lane red and white Baker’s Twine to the top.

Ok, now for the Step It Up! version:

step it up

I added a layer of Emerald Envy that was dry embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF.  Before attaching it to the Whisper White base, I wrapped the red and white baker’s twine around three times.  Then, the sentiment was stamped onto a panel of Whisper White and die cut with one of the Layering Scalloped Squares Framelits.  A larger Real Red Layering Square was cut for a frame.  I stamped Christmas in Real Red onto a panel of Whisper White and used the Bunch of Banners Framelits to die cut it out..  Both sentiment panels were popped onto the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally, I added the holly Christmas Trinket Ornament with more of the Candy Cane Lane baker’s twine and a glue dot.

 Step it Up

When you place an online order, use the above Host Code for a free gift from me.  If your order is $150 or more, do not add the code, but still receive a gift.  The gift is your choice of any item valued to $8.00 in either the 2016/2017 Annual Catalog or the 2016 Holiday Catalog.

Candy Cane Lane for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Happy Stampers Blog Hop

I’m combining Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper and Oh What Fun from Stampin’ Up! for my share for the Happy Stampers today.

Here is our sketch:

Candy Cane for Happy Stampers

Candy Cane Lane

Ok, another easy peasy Christmas Card!   This time with the help of the wonderful Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  I first cut my Real Red panel and then the background Candy Cane Lane paper, making sure my strips would fit evenly across with a little space in-between.  The three panels were adhered with liquid glue. A strip of Candy Cane Lane Designer Washi Tape was then added to the bottom of the panel.  Next came the fussy cutting of the adorable gingerbread houses.  I decided the chimneys needed some smoke coming out, so I die cut the “flame” from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies in Early Expresso card stock.

Candy Cane Lane

I inked up the “oh, what fun” from the Oh What Fun stamp set in versamark ink, stamped it on a panel of Early Expresso paper, sprinkled on some White Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat embossed it.  Then, I used my Triple Banner Punch to create a banner on one end.  I fussy cut the gingerbread boy from the Candy Cane Lane DSP and adhered it to the banner and added the houses and banner to the front with dimensionals.

Candy Cane Lane

For the inside, I used more of the DSP and Washi I had used on the front and adhered it to my Early Expresso card base.  The sentiment is another one from Oh What Fun and also heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on my Real Red panel. I used the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to cut 2 ovals.  Just for fun, I stamped some of the candy images from Candy Cane Christmas, fussy cut them, and glued them together, then popped them on with a Stampin’ dimensional.

Candy Cane Lane

For my envelope, I added another design from the Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape for a little added fun!

Star of Light for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Elegant Christmas Hop

Amy's Inkin' Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to our monthly Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop.  As you can see, our theme is Elegant Christmas, so for my share, I am using the Stampin’ Up! Star of Light stamp set.

Star of Light

Whisper White and Silver Foil together do not photograph easily!  Especially for a novice photographer like me.  I really love this Star of Light stamp set and the Starlight Thinlets Dies.  Bundle them and save 10%!  There are so many wonderful sentiments and wow, don’t you just love that star die?

Star of Light

First, I stamped the swirl image onto a panel of Whisper White. using Versa Mark ink and Heat & Stick Powder.  I heat embossed it briefly, then sprinkled on the Silver Stampin’ Glitter and completed the heat embossing.  I used the same process on the large star image, then die cut it.  The sentiment and small stars are also from Star of Light and they were stamped with Versa Mark ink and sprinkled with Silver Emboss Powder and heat embossed.

Star of Light

For the inside of my card, I die cut one of the other stars from the Starlight Thinlets Dies from a panel of Silver Foil DSP.  I stamped the Star of Light sentiment in Versa Mark ink, added Silver Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. The die cut star was then glued just above it.

Card stock cuts in inches and products used will be at the end of my post

Stampin’ Up! Suite Seasons for Christmas

I have another really quick and easy Christmas card today using Suite Seasons from Stampin’ Up!

Seasons

First, I attached a panel of This Christmas Specialty DSP  to my Very Vanilla card stock base.  Then, I cut a banner and a thin strip from two other designs of the same DSP and attached them to the front of the card.  A length of Silver Sequins were then attached on top of the green banner.

Seasons

Using my Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers, I colored the sentiment stamp, huffed on it several times and stamped it onto a panel of Very Vanilla.  I used my Layering Squares Framelits to cut out the sentiment panel and the Cherry Cobbler frame for the sentiment.  Once they were glued together, I popped that panel onto the front with dimensionals.

Seasons

For the inside of the card, I chose a sentiment from the Star of Light stamp set and stamped it in Garden Green onto a panel of Very Vanilla.  I fussy cut the floral image from another piece of the This Christmas DSP and glued it beside my sentiment.  Then, I added another strip of the patterned DSP that I had used on the front of the card to finish it off.

And, there you have it. a very quick and easy Christmas card!!

Card stock cuts in inches are at the end of my post.

Today, I attended the Stampin’ Up! On Stage Event for Demonstrators in Atlanta.  Several from our team, Amy’s Inkin Krew, were in attendance and we absolutely had a blast!  We got to see the new Occasions Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration catalog both beginning in January!  But, best of all, we got to play with a lot of the new stamp sets.  Woo-Hoo they are awesome!  I cannot share any of my pictures of the stamps or products or catalogs until Monday afternoon, so stay tuned!

You are going to love all of the new products.  Just one of the many perks of becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  If you love stamping and Stampin’ Up! products, you really ought to consider becoming a demo.  Contact me for information on joining my team.

Here is one picture of some of our team at the end of a wonderful stamping day!
