Dragonfly Dreams & Butterfly Basics for PCC#231

I used the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Butterfly Basics and Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up! to create my card for today.

Dragonfly

I’m playing along with the sketch at Paper Craft Crew #231.

PCC#231

I started by stamping the Whisper White art panel with the splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake ink. Because I did not want the Crumb cake too dark, I stamped it off onto a scrap paper a couple of times.  Then, I did the same thing with the honeycomb image from Butterfly Basics.  The fern image from Butterfly Basics was stamped in Wild Wasabi 3 times without re-inking.

Dragonfly  The body of the Dragonfly, from Dragonfly Dreams, was stamped in Basic Black, then the wings in Wisteria Wonder.  I die cut it with the matching die from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets Dies.  I added some Dimensionals to the back and looped a length of Gold Metallic Thread around a few times before popping it onto the art panel.  The banner sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams and stamped in Basic Black, then die cut with the banner from the Gift Card Envelope & Thinlets Dies.  My little flower was created with the long die from the Flourish Thinlets.  I cut the circles apart and glued two parts together to make a flower.  The center is one of the smaller White Perfect Accents.

Dragonfly

The inside sentiment is from Butterfly Basics and stamped in Wisteria Wonder.  Three more fern fronds were stamped in Wild Wasabi and a little strip of the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack card stock was repeated to finish it off!

Card stock cuts and products used in creating this card will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

We have a sketch challenge this week, and I’m sharing a card I made using Butterfly Basics from Stampin’ Up!

Butterfly Basics

And here is our sketch:

12313635_1305624596130779_8167946357580835360_n

I think I used almost all of the 11 stamps in the Butterfly Basics set for this card!  This is such a great stamp set, and I am happy it did not retire this year!

Butterfly Basics

The art piece was stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla.  Some images were stamped off once first to add a little interest to the background.  The tag was punched with the scallop tag topper punch in 2 layers,  once with the Typeset DSP (retired) and then with Crumb Cake to give the tag more weight.  These 2 layers are glued together.  I also stamped images from Butterfly Basics onto the tag with Crumb Cake ink before adding a length of Linen Thread.

My sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink.  This ink doesn’t stain the photopolymer stamps as badly as the archival ink.  I used the banner from the Rose Garden Thinlets to die cut my sentiment.

All of the edges of the Very Vanilla pieces are sponged with Crumb Cake ink.

Butterfly Basics

I stamped the small butterfly from Butterfly Basics in Pool Party ink onto the Very Vanilla panel for the inside.

Butterfly Basics

The small butterfly on the card front is stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake paper, then die cut with the small Butterflies Thinlets die.  The large butterfly is also die cut with the same Thinlets and I used Pool Party card stock.  The butterfly on the envelope is just stamped with Crumb Cake ink.

Some Pearls Basic Jewels were colored with my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker and attached to the butterfly and the front of the card.

***If you act quickly, before June 1st, you can pick up the Butterfly Basics Bundle at a 15% discount!  The bundle includes the stamp set and the thinlets and comes in wood, clear and photopolymer stamps.  These items will carry over to the new catalog, but not as a bundle!  They will be priced separately.

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics

My share for today is from Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics.

Butterfly Basics

I had a little help with the sketch and color scheme.  For the sketch, I am playing along with the Sunday Stamps weekly challenge#124:

SSC124f

And my colors are compliments of the Color Throwdown challenge #388:

I have recently seen quite a few butterflies outside and I wanted to bring them inside to my cards-so, I pulled out Butterfly Basics and got busy!  I used the Butterflies Thinlets, which coordinate with the Butterfly Basics stamp set, to begin.  The medium sized butterfly was cut out in Daffodil Delight card stock.

Butterfly Basics

I decided to create my own “DSP” background by stamping several of the images from  Butterfly Basics.  The dotted line stamp was stamped in Pacific Point along the bottom of the Whisper White panel, then, the flower was randomly stamped in Daffodil Delight.  The honey-comb image was stamped down the center in Daffodil Delight.  Next, I cut out a banner with the Banners Framelits in Cucumber Crush and stamped the leaf a couple of times onto it in Cucumber Crush ink and glued it to my art pane

Butterfly Basics

The sentiment was stamped onto a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock in Pacific Point and cut out with the banner from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlets and popped onto the banner with dimensionals.  I added a Very Vintage Designer button threaded with some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine to the banner with a glue dot.Butterfly Basics

The inside is decorated with more of the same stamp colors from the outside with an addition of the small butterfly stamp from Butterfly Basics onto a panel of Whisper White.

Butterfly Basics

I used some real DSP from the Brights Color Collection in  Pacific Point to line the envelope using my Envelope Liners Framelits.

Card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics

I used he Butterfly Basics stamp set to create my card for today.  This card is going to a friend that is going through some changes in her life.

Butterfly Basics Card-iology by Jari

My card design was inspired by Sketch and Stamp SB115.

I started by stamping the fern leaf pattern in Wild Wasabi ink to a panel of Farmers Market DSP.  I stamped the small butterfly images in Elegant Eggplant ink-one was stamped off first (notice it is a little lighter that the top butterfly.  I then stamped the post mark image in Elegant Eggplant.  Next, I stamped the larger butterfly also in Elegant Eggplant and fussy cut it with my Paper snips.  I need to say here how wonderful those snips are, too!  They do a beautiful job cutting the closest of areas! It was time to adhere the DSP to a panel of Wild Wasabi cardstock with multi-purpose Tombow glue.

Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a small rectangle of Whisper White card stock in Elegant Eggplant, then attached it to a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock that was just a smidgen larger.  I then decided where I wanted it to go before stamping the banner images on the DSP.  I used a stamp from the Perfect Pennants set for those in Elegant Eggplant. Next, I cut a strip of Wild Wasabi 1/2″ ribbon to go down the side, and attached it to the back first with a little Tombow glue, then added dimensionals to either side of the ribbon to hold it in place. Because I wanted the butterfly to not be flat on the page, I put a dot of glue on the underside and attached it to the corner of the sentiment rectangle.  I wanted the knot hole to show, so I added dimensionals to that rectangle and attached it beside the “hole” on the front of the card.  Those 2 layers were then attached to the card base which is Elegant Eggplant.

Butterfly Basics Card-iology by Jari

I stamped some more images from the set to the inside of the card on a panel of Whisper White cardstock and adhered it with Tombow glue.
