Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Inkin’ Thursday, everyone!  I am sharing a card created with one of the new stamps sets called Happy Birthday Gorgeous, from the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that goes live today!  Can you believe it is June 1st?  I know there are a lot of happy people out there who have been waiting (not so patiently, I bet) to place an order.  So glad you joined us, we are all excited, too!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

Our challenge this week was to use the following colors:

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

The inspiration for my sketch is from Hand Stamped Sentiments HSS #265

Hand Stamped Sentiments #265

My card base is Old Olive with a panel of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper adhered to the left side with some liquid glue.  Aren’t you glad you can order this paper today?  Ordering begins after 12:00 Mountain Time.  Yay!

I stamped a panel of Whisper White card stock with the splatter stamp from Touches of Texture in Old Olive ink.  I wanted it to be a subtle color, so I stamped off twice on scrap paper.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

Next, I stamped the flower pods and stems in Rich Razzleberry, then the leaves in Old Olive. The flowers in Happy Birthday Gorgeous are 2-step stamps, so I stamped first in Rich Razzleberry.  The second stamping was in Pool Party that had been stamped off twice.  I fussy cut all of the flower heads and set them aside.  Then, I inked up the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry and stamped it on the bottom of my art panel.  The art panel was framed with a panel of Old Olive card stock

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

The small flowers were adhered to the art panel with some liquid glue, and then the larger ones added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Several  Pearls were added for a little bling, and the whole art panel popped onto the front with Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

My original plan was to add the Happy Birthday sentiment to the front of the card, but I wasn’t happy with that, so I decided to add it and some of the flowers to the inside.

A complete list of supplies as well as card stock cuts for my Happy Birthday Gorgeous birthday card will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Cupcake Happy Birthday

I’m sharing a Stampin’ Up! Sweet Cupcake happy birthday card with you today.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Cupcake happy birthday-Cardiology by Jari

My  sketch was inspired by the CTS#219 Challenge this week

CTS #219

And, the colors were inspired by Just Add Ink #357 “Colour”Just Add Ink #357

I started with a panel of Canson Cold Press Watercolor paper, an Aqua Painter, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Sahara Sand inks.  I wet the paper in the center and then “painted” some Sahara Sand first.  Next, I added some Sweet Sugarplum ink above the dry Sahara Sand area.  Finally, I picked up a little Rich Razzleberry ink with the Aqua painter and blended it with the Sweet Sugarplum and set it aside to dry.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Cupcake Happy Birthday-Cardiology by Jari

When the watercolored panel was completely dry, I stamped the dotted stamp from Sweet Cupcake in Rich Razzleberry ink, some full strength and some stamped off once.  The cupcake paper was stamped in Sahara Sand ink and the actual cake part was stamped first in Sweet Sugarplum, then Rich Razzleberry that had been stamped off once, and the 3rd layer in Sweet Sugarplum that had been stamped off once.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Cupcake Happy Birthday-Cardiology by Jari

The swirly line on my Sweet Cupcake happy birthday card was die cut in Island Indigo using the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies.  If you do not have this set, now is the time to buy it as a bundle, because it will not be sold as a bundle in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  You will have to purchase the stamp set and the framelits separately.  My art panel was framed in Sweet Sugarplum, then was popped onto the Rich Razzleberry card stock base with dimensionals.  After stamping the sentiment, I used a die from Bunch of Banners to cut it out and the cupcake and banner were added  with dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Cupcake Happy birthday-Cardiology by Jari

What’s a Sweet Cupcake Happy Birthday Card without a candle?  I cut out the candle and WISH, using the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits once again.

A complete list of stamping supplies needed to create this card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous Peek

I’m sharing a new sneak peek from the upcoming 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  I created a birthday card from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle. Here is a shot from a board at OnStage Savannah.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous

I was able to pre-order this bundle, but not the Foil paper.  Included in the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle is a photopolymer stamp set with 32 images, and the Happy Birthday Thinlets Dies.  The die consists of the words Happy Birthday, in a super fun font!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

So, what do you think?  I am also using some of the new Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst card stock, both available on June 1st. These two colors are certainly catching my eye these days.

The  TGIFC104 Polka Dot Inspiration Challenge got me in the polka dot mood!

I started with a panel of Floral Affection DSP (retiring) and stamped on the Make A Wish sentiment, from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, in Versa Mark ink. Some White Emboss Powder was sprinkled on top and then heat embossed. The panel was then adhered to a panel of Lemon Lime Twist card stock (available June 1st)

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

Next, I  die cut a Stitched Shapes square in Whisper White and attached it to a Scalloped Square in Berry Bright card stock.  Happy Birthday, was die cut from a panel of Lemon Lime Twist and adhered to the squares with little dabs of liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

The balloon image from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, was stamped with Versa Mark ink onto Berry Burst card stock, sprinkled with White Emboss Powder, and heat embossed.  I punched it out with my Balloon Bouquet punch, then cut out the bow and balloon “string” using my Balloon Pop Up Thinlets Dies (retiring).  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel was added to the center of the Berry Burst bow and another added as the dot for the letter ‘i” in Birthday.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous-Cardiology by Jari

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and the balloon string in Berry Burst onto a panel of Lemon Lime Twist.  The balloon was stamped also in Berry Burst onto Whisper White and punched with my Balloon Bouquet punch.  A strip of the Floral Boutique DSP was added to the bottom of the panel, then all adhered to the Whisper White card stock base.

A complete list of stamping supplies as well as card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms for Happy Inkin’ Thursday

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

We’re back with another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop for you today.  I used Birthday Blooms, from Stampin’ Up!, to create my card to share with you.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms by Cardiology by Jari

We have a color challenge this week, and Mint Macaron has truly been a wonderful color the last two years!  Make sure you order anything from the 2015-2017 In-Color Collection soon because they retire June 1st.   Those items will vanish fast!

Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

I’m also playing along with the Coming Up Flowers Challenge #93 At Stamp Ink Paper this week.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 93

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper and the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  The large flower image was stamped in Versa Mark ink, and heat embossed using White Emboss Powder.  Then, I began to color in the flowers with my Watercolor Pen and Calypso Coral ink.  Once it was dry, I came back in and water colored Mint Macaron on all of the leaf images.  Finally, I colored in the center of the bloom with more water coloring in Daffodil Delight.  The Mint Macaron dotted images are also from Birthday Blooms, and were added last.
Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms by Cardiology by Jari

I used the sentiment from Jar of Love, and the Banners Framelits Dies for my banner cut outs. The Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine is really White Baker’s Twine that I dyed using vinegar and my Calypso Coral re-inker.  It was my first time trying this technique.  Luckily, I realized in enough time that I was out of the Calypso Coral twine, and dyed some ahead of when I needed it, so it had time to dry!  I’m happy with the results, and will try this again with other colors.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms by Cardiology by Jari

For the inside, I chose a sentiment from Floral Phrases and stamped it in Mint Macaron.  My small flower is from Birthday Blooms and was stamped in Calypso Coral.

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! supplies needed to complete this project, as well as card stock cuts in inches will be at the end of my post.

Now, you can continue the hop to see what Kristi has created for us today.

Autism Matters Blog Hop

Welcome to our Autism Matters Blog Hop.  Our intent is to raise awareness on Autism as well as raise funds for Autism research, resources and services for those affected by autism and to advocate for the needs of those with autism.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences. We now know that there is not one autism but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences.

The term “spectrum” reflects the wide variation in challenges and strengths possessed by each person with autism.

Autism Matters Blog Hop

There is no blood test, no scan, and no image that can detect autism. Diagnosis relies on behavioral observation and screening.

The colors associated with Autism are red, yellow and blue, so I used those colors in my card for today.  I used Balloon Adventures, Better Together and Bear Hugs from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures for Autism Matters by Cardiology by Jari

My bear was stamped first in Chocolate Chip ink on a panel of Crumb Cake, then die cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies.  Isn’t he just the cutest?

Next, came the balloons, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.  I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut them out.

I stamped the party hat from Better Together, and colored it in with my Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then, I used my Paper Snips to carefully cut it out.

The sentiment is also from Balloon Adventures, and was stamped with Versa Mark ink, sprinkled with White Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I used the Duet Banner Punch to cut it out.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures for Autism Matters by Cardiology by Jari

For my inside sentiment, I used a stamp from Balloon Adventures and colored it with the ink to rubber method,  I took my Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write markers and colored in the words, huffed on it a few times, then stamped onto my Whisper White panel.

A complete list of stamping supplies as well as card stock cuts for creating this card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Banners Happy Birthday

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created using the Birthday Banners stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Birthday Banners Cardiology by Jari Panels of the Party Animal Designer Series Paper were adhered to a panel of Crushed Curry card stock.  At the point where the papers met, I added a layer of Crushed Curry card stock and wrapped a length of Emerald Envy 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around it, securing it with small dabs of Liquid Glue and scotch tape on the back side.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Banners Cardiology by Jari

I stamped the candle image from Birthday Banners in Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry on a panel of Whisper White and die cut it with a Layering Oval Framelit.  It was framed with an Emerald Envy scalloped oval.  The ovals were popped onto the front of the card with Dimensionals and I added a small bow created with Emerald Envy Baker’s Twine.  The sentiment and banner were stamped with stamps from Birthday Banners and then die cut with the corresponding banner die.  I popped it on with Dimensionals and added one Metallic Enamel Shape star.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Banners and Bunch of Banners Framelits by Cardiology by Jari

For the inside, I stamped the double banner, from Birthday Banners in Crushed Curry ink and the sentiment in Pacific Point, then used the Bunch of Banners Thinlets die to cut it out. The candle was stamped onto the Whisper White inside panel and the banner adhered with Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats & Suite Sentiments

Today, I have paired the Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats Bundle with the Suite Sentiments stamp set, to create my card to share with you. These stamp sets are featured in the 2017 Occasions Catalog, and I’m loving them both.  I think they paired nicely, don’t you?

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats & Suite Sentiments Cardiology by Jari

I also think this Designer Series Paper, Tasty Treats, is so fun to work with.  The card base is Watermelon Wonder (remember, this color is retiring in June!) .  First, I cut a panel of the striped Tasty Treats DSP, and adhered it to a panel of Crumb Cake.  I cut the other Tasty Treats design on a diagonal and adhered it also to the Crumb Cake layer.  A length of Watermelon Wonder 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon (also retiring in June!) was then cut and adhered using Tear & Tape Adhesive.  This whole panel was then popped onto the Watermelon Wonder card stock base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats & Suite Sentiments Cardiology by Jari

Next, I stamped the sprinkles stamp from Cool Treats, in Crumb Cake ink, all over a Whisper White Stitched Shape Oval, and backed it with a Watermelon Wonder scalloped oval.  The Crumb Cake ice cream cone was die cut using 2 of the dies from the Frozen Treats Framelits.  I stamped the ice cream in Watermelon Wonder, stamping off onto a scrap piece of paper first.   Then, I stamped the sentiment from Suite Sentiments, full strength on top.  I had to fussy cut the ice cream because of the sentiment’s size.  Just Like You, also from Suite Sentiments, was stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink and I used one of the Tags & Labels Framelits Dies to cut it and its frame out.  The cherry was stamped and die cut, then glued on.  I cut a Lace Doily in half and adhered it to the ovals, then popped the art panel and the sentiment panel onto the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats & Suite Sentiments Cardiology by Jari

For the inside sentiment, I chose a stamp from Cool Treats and decided to add a chocolate topped popsicle to the bottom left corner.  So, how do you think Cool Treats & Suite Sentiments worked on this card?

A complete list of stamping supplies and card stock cuts to create this card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Cupcakes & Carousels Happy Birthday

I used the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper, Balloon Adventures, and the Stylized Birthday stamps to create the card I’m sharing with you today.  I also threw in some Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper, and hope you were able to snag it while it was still available for Sale-A-Bration.  But, if you did not get it, Bermuda Bay card stock will be perfectly fine to use in its place.

I’m also playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #91, hope you’ll check it out!

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #91

I started with a panel of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and adhered it to a panel of So Saffron card stock.  Next, I cut another strip from Cupcakes & Carousels and adhered it to some Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper.  This whole strip was then adhered to the first panel. I cut a Lace Doily in half and centered it so that it would peek out under the sentiment panel and glued it down with some Liquid Glue.

My next step was to stamp the confetti image from Balloon Adventures onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I did not stamp it full strength, though, it was stamped off once each time before I added it to the Very Vanilla.  Then, I stamped the Stylized Birthday Happy Birthday stamp in Bermuda Bay right over the confetti.  The sentiment panel was cut out with a Layering Squares Framelit and framed with a little larger scalloped Square in the Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper.

Next, I wrapped a length of Very Vanilla Thick Baker’s Twine around my large panel, added a short piece of Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim and tied a bow.  This panel was popped onto the Bermuda Bay card stock base with Dimensionals. Finally, I added one Rhinestone on top of the letter i, added some Dimensionals and popped the sentiment panel onto the front, too.

The inside of my card was stamped with the Balloon Adventures stamp set in Bermuda Bay on my Very Vanilla card stock.  A thin strip of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP from the front was added to the bottom.  Quick and easy for the middle of the week!  Hope you like it!

A complete list of supplies including card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats You’re Sweet!

I used the Cool Treats Bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create a You’re Sweet birthday card to share today.

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats You're Sweet by Cardiology by Jari

My card design was inspired by the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments #259.

HSS#259 sketch challenge

I started by adhering a panel of Tasty Treats Specialty DSP to my Watermelon Wonder card stock base.  Then I created another layered panel with Chocolate Chip card stock and Tasty Treats DSP

Next, I stamped You’re Sweet onto a panel of Whisper White.  You’re was stamped in Chocolate Chip and Sweet was stamped in Watermelon Wonder, making sure I left plenty of room in between the words for another sentiment.  I used the largest Stitched Shapes Square die to cut out the Whisper White panel.  Then I adhered it to a Watermelon Wonder scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits.

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats you're Sweet Cardiology by Jari

The thinner banner sentiment was then stamped in Pear Pizzaz and the ends notched with my Banner Triple Punch.  I did the same with the Pear Pizzaz card stock and adhered it to the sentiment panel.  Finally, I stamped two strawberries, a popsicle and chocolate topping, then die cut them using the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.

Stampin' Up! Cool Treats You're Sweet Cardiology by Jari

Originally, I had planned to add an ice cream cone to the front of the card, but did not like it there, so I added it to the inside of my card.  Both the cone and the ice cream were stamped and die cut with the Frozen Treats Framelits dies. This Cool Treats Bundle is a favorite of mine from the Occasions catalog.  If you order the bundle and the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP, you will qualify for one free gift from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Keep in mind though, that March 31st is coming quickly and I would hate for you to miss out on something you have had your eye on.  Don’t wait until the last week to order, or you may be disappointed!  Popular items may already be gone.

A complete list of stamping products for this project as well as card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures

I used the Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures Bundle and the Birthday Banners stamp set to create my share for today.  If you’re here from Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Featured Artists, welcome, so glad you stopped by!

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures and Birthday Banners by Cardiology by Jari

This card was really quick and easy to put together, I know, because I was under a deadline to get a card done and submitted to Amy, my up-line, by noon yesterday!  Stampin’ Up! has so many fabulous papers to help with the creativity process.  I happened to see a card in the 2017 Occasions Catalog that gave me some inspiration, too.  So, I pulled out my Cupcakes & Carousels DSP, some matching card stock, and put on my thinking cap!

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures Bundle and Birthday Banners Cardiology by Jari

I started with a Bermuda Bay card stock base and stamped it with the confetti ribbon image from Balloon Adventures in Bermuda Bay ink.  Next, I took a panel of Peekaboo Peach card stock and dry embossed it with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I pulled out the colorful banner paper from Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and stamped three curly balloon strings from Balloon Adventures in Early Expresso ink.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures and Birthday Banners Cardiology by Jari

The largest balloon and bow were die cut from the new Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper, using the Balloon Pop Up Thinlets dies.  I created a back for the balloon with a scrap from the opposite side of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP (banner pattern) using my Balloon Bouquet punch. (Yes, the largest balloon is the same size!)  The two smaller balloons are from the Birthday Banners stamp set.  One is stamped in So Saffron ink onto a panel of Very Vanilla and the other is Calypso Coral stamped onto a panel of Peekaboo Peach.  Both were punched out with the Balloon Bouquet punch.  I stamped the banner and sentiment using stamps from Birthday Banners, and die cut it with a die from the Bunch of Banners Thinlets.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures Bundle and Birthday Banners Cardiology by Jari

For the inside, I punched out another large balloon from the Bermuda Bay Glimmer paper and added another bow.  And, I decided to decorate an envelope flap to go with the card!

It was fun to team up the Stampin’ Up Balloon Adventures Bundle and Birthday Banners to create this really quick and easy birthday card for today.  I hope you enjoy it!

A complete list of Stampin’ Up! supplies and card stock cuts to complete this project will be at the end of my post.
