Autism Matters Blog Hop

Welcome to our Autism Matters Blog Hop.  Our intent is to raise awareness on Autism as well as raise funds for Autism research, resources and services for those affected by autism and to advocate for the needs of those with autism.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences. We now know that there is not one autism but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences.

The term “spectrum” reflects the wide variation in challenges and strengths possessed by each person with autism.

There is no blood test, no scan, and no image that can detect autism. Diagnosis relies on behavioral observation and screening.

The colors associated with Autism are red, yellow and blue, so I used those colors in my card for today.  I used Balloon Adventures, Better Together and Bear Hugs from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures for Autism Matters by Cardiology by Jari

My bear was stamped first in Chocolate Chip ink on a panel of Crumb Cake, then die cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies.  Isn’t he just the cutest?

Next, came the balloons, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.  I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut them out.

I stamped the party hat from Better Together, and colored it in with my Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then, I used my Paper Snips to carefully cut it out.

The sentiment is also from Balloon Adventures, and was stamped with Versa Mark ink, sprinkled with White Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I used the Duet Banner Punch to cut it out.

For my inside sentiment, I used a stamp from Balloon Adventures and colored it with the ink to rubber method,  I took my Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write markers and colored in the words, huffed on it a few times, then stamped onto my Whisper White panel.

A complete list of stamping supplies as well as card stock cuts for creating this card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Better Together For a Friend

I used the Stampin’ Up! Better Together stamp set and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets to create the card I am sharing with you today.

Stampin' Up! Better Together Cardiology by Jari

The inspiration for my design is from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #235  challenge this week:

PCC#235

I started by adhering a panel of Playful Palette to a panel of Very Vanilla, then adhered them to a panel of Wild Wasabi. Next, I added some Tear & Tape Adhesive to a length of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and carefully lined it up right at the point the Playful Palette strip met the Very Vanilla panel.  I made sure the ribbon was a little longer than my art panel so that I could also secure it to the back.

I pulled out my Swirly Scribbles Thinlets dies and cut two Wild Wasabi “wreaths”.  They were not lined up exactly perfectly to create a little fuller looking wreath, dotted very carefully with Liquid Glue and set aside to dry.  Next, I stamped 3 of the rose images from Better Together in Flirty Flamingo onto a scrap of Pink Pirouette card stock and carefully cut them out with my Paper Snips.  But the leaves are green…..

Yes, so I stamped three more of the rose images ,this time in Wild Wasabi onto a scrap of Wild Wasabi card stock. Then, I carefully cut them out again with Paper Snips and decided to outline them a little more with my Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write Marker.  I lined them up with my pink roses and used a little Liquid Glue to adhere them.

The sentiment banner came next.  It was stamped in Versa Mark onto a strip of Blushing Bride, sprinkled with Gold Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I snipped a little off the end with my Banner Triple Punch and added it and the strip of Fabulous Foil DSP to the front of the card with Liquid Glue.  My roses were attached to the wreath with some Liquid Glue and some Dimensionals.  Then, the wreath was attached to the front with a lot of small pieces of Dimensionals.  This whole panel was then popped onto the Blushing Bride base and 3 Metallic Enamel Dots finished it off.

More Gold Embossing Powder was added to the inside sentiment, also from Better Together, and a single rose was added to the bottom corner.  This time, I used the ink to rubber method on the rose, using my Wild Wasabi and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Markers to color on the stamp.  And, I even decorated my envelope…

Card stock cuts and a supply list of the products used to create my card will be at the end of my post.

Jolly Moose for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Happy Stampers Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Jolly Friends stamp set to create my Jolly Moose Christmas card for our hop for today.  This week, we have a color challenge using these rich holiday colors:

Happy Stampers blog hop

I also used the sketch over at Fab Friday to give some creation inspiration

Fab Fri 99

Jolly Moose

I stamped my moose image from Jolly Friends in Early Expresso, and fussy cut him with my Paper Snips. Next,  I stamped the cap parts in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched them with the Jolly Hat Builder Punch.  The scarf was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler, but I fussy cut it. The sentiment is from Tin of Tags.  It was stamped in Garden Green, then die cut with a Layering Ovals Framelit Die.   I framed that oval with another scalloped oval in Cherry Cobbler.

Jolly Moose

My card base is Crumb Cake. First, I stamped the snow flake images from Christmas Pines several times in Garden Green ink onto my Garden Green card stock panel.  The banners were cut from the Warmth & Cheer DSP. Then, I swirled some Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Baker’s Twine onto the front before adding the sentiment ovals with dimensionals.

Jolly Moose

For the inside, I stamped Merry Christmas, from Better Together, and die cut another oval.  Then, I die cut some “mistletoe” from the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies and tied them together with more of the Baker’s Twine.

Card stock cuts and products used are listed at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Better Together Birthday

My share for today is a birthday card using Better Together from Stampin’ Up!
Better Together

I haven’t really used much of the Moroccan Designer Series Paper, but thought it looked really festive for a birthday card, and I love all of the coordinating colors you can use with it!  I started with a Very Vanilla card base, then layered several panels on top of it.  I used Gold Foil, Cajun Craze, Dapper Denim and finally, Moroccan DSP.
Better Together

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Better Together in Dapper Denim onto a panel of Very Vanilla, then used a Layering Circle Die to cut it out.  I also stamped one of the star images from Better Together in Delightful Dijon below the sentiment.  The birthday hat was stamped in Dapper Denim and fussy cut with my Paper Snips and added with a dimensional.  Then I cut out two larger layering circles.  One in Cajun Craze and the other in Gold Foil and attached all of them with liquid glue.

Better Together

The top right corner looked a little bare, so I stamped 3 more stars in Delightful Dijon, then decided to die cut some Gold Foil stars to pop on top of the stamped stars for a little more interest.  For the stars, I used my Mini Treat Bag Thinlets dies.

Better Together

For the inside, I used more of the Moroccan DSP on the bottom, then stamped another sentiment and hat from Better Together in Dapper Denim and Delightful Dijon inks.
