Welcome to our Autism Matters Blog Hop.  Our intent is to raise awareness on Autism as well as raise funds for Autism research, resources and services for those affected by autism and to advocate for the needs of those with autism.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences. We now know that there is not one autism but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences.

The term “spectrum” reflects the wide variation in challenges and strengths possessed by each person with autism.

There is no blood test, no scan, and no image that can detect autism. Diagnosis relies on behavioral observation and screening.

The colors associated with Autism are red, yellow and blue, so I used those colors in my card for today.  I used Balloon Adventures, Better Together and Bear Hugs from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures for Autism Matters by Cardiology by Jari

My bear was stamped first in Chocolate Chip ink on a panel of Crumb Cake, then die cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies.  Isn’t he just the cutest?

Next, came the balloons, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.  I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut them out.

I stamped the party hat from Better Together, and colored it in with my Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then, I used my Paper Snips to carefully cut it out.

The sentiment is also from Balloon Adventures, and was stamped with Versa Mark ink, sprinkled with White Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I used the Duet Banner Punch to cut it out.

For my inside sentiment, I used a stamp from Balloon Adventures and colored it with the ink to rubber method,  I took my Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin’ Write markers and colored in the words, huffed on it a few times, then stamped onto my Whisper White panel.

A complete list of stamping supplies as well as card stock cuts for creating this card will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures

I used the Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures Bundle and the Birthday Banners stamp set to create my share for today.  If you’re here from Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Featured Artists, welcome, so glad you stopped by!

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures and Birthday Banners by Cardiology by Jari

This card was really quick and easy to put together, I know, because I was under a deadline to get a card done and submitted to Amy, my up-line, by noon yesterday!  Stampin’ Up! has so many fabulous papers to help with the creativity process.  I happened to see a card in the 2017 Occasions Catalog that gave me some inspiration, too.  So, I pulled out my Cupcakes & Carousels DSP, some matching card stock, and put on my thinking cap!

Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures Bundle and Birthday Banners Cardiology by Jari

I started with a Bermuda Bay card stock base and stamped it with the confetti ribbon image from Balloon Adventures in Bermuda Bay ink.  Next, I took a panel of Peekaboo Peach card stock and dry embossed it with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I pulled out the colorful banner paper from Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and stamped three curly balloon strings from Balloon Adventures in Early Expresso ink.

The largest balloon and bow were die cut from the new Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper, using the Balloon Pop Up Thinlets dies.  I created a back for the balloon with a scrap from the opposite side of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP (banner pattern) using my Balloon Bouquet punch. (Yes, the largest balloon is the same size!)  The two smaller balloons are from the Birthday Banners stamp set.  One is stamped in So Saffron ink onto a panel of Very Vanilla and the other is Calypso Coral stamped onto a panel of Peekaboo Peach.  Both were punched out with the Balloon Bouquet punch.  I stamped the banner and sentiment using stamps from Birthday Banners, and die cut it with a die from the Bunch of Banners Thinlets.

For the inside, I punched out another large balloon from the Bermuda Bay Glimmer paper and added another bow.  And, I decided to decorate an envelope flap to go with the card!

It was fun to team up the Stampin’ Up Balloon Adventures Bundle and Birthday Banners to create this really quick and easy birthday card for today.  I hope you enjoy it!

Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures

Today I am sharing the Balloon Adventures Bundle from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up!  Wow, just ONE more day until this catalog goes live and you can order!  Have you made your wish list?
Balloon adventures

The Balloon Adventures Bundle is a great one to add to your list.  I love the versatility of the new Balloon Pop-Up Thinlets!  I used the largest die and cut out the balloons and strings to create a free standing design minus the pop-up part.  Next, I stamped some balloons onto Whisper White card stock and punched them out using my Balloon Bouquet Punch.  I made two Emerald Envy balloons so that I could glue the first one down and pop up the second one without the Crushed Curry base showing through.

Balloon Adventures

I stamped the banner image in Pacific Point onto a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock.  Then, I stamped the image in Tangerine Tango and fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips.  I die cut 3 Pacific Point bows using the bow die from the set and layered them on top of one another.

Balloon Adventures

This is a really fun sentiment from the Balloon Adventures set, stamped in Pacific Point, with streamers stamped in Tangerine Tango.

Stampin’ Up! Foxy Friends Birthday Bear

Hi Stampers, today I have created a fun birthday card using the Foxy Friends bundle to create a Birthday Bear! I also used the Birthday Banners stamp set and a the new Balloon Adventures stamp set available January 4th.  Stampin’ Up! has so many fun birthday stamps it is difficult to just use one set!

Birthday Bear

I started by stamping the two smallest balloons using the Birthday Banners stamp set.  I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut them out.  Next, I stamped the largest balloon using the new Balloon Adventures stamp set available on January 4th, and punched it too.
Birthday Bear

For the Birthday Bear, I punched out some Soft Suede using the Fox Builder Punch and rounded off the ears using my paper snips.  Then, the Foxy Friends paws were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Crumb Cake. I used the small circle die from the Gift Card Envelope & Thinlets Dies to cut the paws out.  Next, I cut out an oval for the nose/mouth area and attached it to the head, then used the face features stamp from Foxy Friends to stamp the eyes and nose.  Don’t you just love the birthday hat?  It is from the Party Animal Embellishments pack available on January 4th.  It contains Pacific Point birthday hats and Tangerine Tango Balloons.

Birthday Bear

The inside features a sentiment from Balloon Adventures and is stamped in Tangerine Tango ink.

Birthday Bear

To complete the Birthday Bear card, I decided to stamp one of the other fun balloons from Balloon Adventures on the envelope front.

Card stock cuts and products used will be at the end of the post. (Minus any items available on January 4th)
