Jari Francis, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Sprinkles of Life Meets Apple of My Eye!

Happy Friday!  I have merged Sprinkles of Life and Apple of My Eye from Stampin’ Up!, for my card to share with you today.

Sprinkles of Life-Apple of My Eye

It makes a cheery thank you card, don’t you think?  I had fun with it-and will miss the Apple of My Eye stamp set as it is on the retired list!   And so is the Cherry On Top DSP.

Sprinkles of Life-Apple of My Eye

The cupcake bottom is Memento Black ink on Tip Top Taupe paper, fussy cut with Paper Snips.  The cupcake top is Cucumber Crush on Whisper White with Watermelon Wonder Sprinkles, all from Sprinkles of Life. I punched it with the Tree Builder Punch, then wrapped a length of Black Baker’s Twine around and tied a bow.

Next, I stamped the cherry stem, cherries and leaves from Apple of My Eye and fussy cut them. They are attached with little dabs of liquid glue, then dimensionals added to pop them to the front above the popped up cupcake top.

Both the outside and inside sentiments are stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink using the Apple of My Eye stamp set. The cherries, stem and leaves are stamped directly onto the Whisper White piece.

Stampin’ Up! Apple of My Eye for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Apple of My Eye Happy Stampers Blog Hop

I used Apple of My Eye from Stampin’ Up! for my share today for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  Welcome!Apple of My Eye

Here is our sketch:

The Apple of My Eye stamp set has been sitting in my stamp cabinet just waiting for me to use it! I am not sure why I haven’t yet, because it is so cute!  And, it reminds me of growing up in Florida, close to all of the citrus groves.  I love the smell of orange blossoms!  Getting back to my card……

Apple of My Eye

First, I stamped the citrus onto Whisper White using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzaz inks. The seeds for the centers are stamped in Crumb Cake ink. Then, I looked in my punch drawer for the correct punch (1 3/4″) but realized I do not have it! Luckily, I have the wonderful paper snips, so I fussy cut them.  You know what will be on my next Stampin’ Up! order now!

I chose a leaf image from Apple of My Eye that most resembled a citrus leaf and stamped two in Pear Pizzaz and fussy cut them. I used one of the sentiments from the set and stamped it in Memento Black onto a piece of Pear Pizzaz paper, then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.

The card base is Whisper White with a Whisper White panel that is dry embossed with the Large Polka Dot TIEF and corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Punch.

For the inside, I used another one of the Apple of My Eye stamps for the sentiment, stamped in Memento Black onto the orange half I had previously stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink.
