Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Birthday Blooms for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop March 31st

Welcome once again to our weekly hop. My share for today is from Birthday Blooms from Stampin’ Up! We have a sketch challenge this week.

Happy Stampers Blog Hop Birthday Blooms

I have had this set, Birthday Blooms, for a while, but had not used it.  Wow, it is another favorite from Stampin’ Up!  And, I especially love how it looks with the Birthday Bouquet DSP.

Birthday Blooms

My card was really quick and easy to put together.  I just stamped the Watermelon Wonder card base with the large flower image from Birthday Blooms in Watermelon Wonder ink, then stamped the dots randomly around the flower (also in Watermelon Wonder).  I cut a panel of Birthday Bouquet DSP that I attached to a panel of Mossy Meadow with multipurpose liquid glue, then adhered it to the card base with more glue.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms

I stamped the banner from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink and used the coordinating die from the Rose Garden Thinlets Dies to cut it out.  The sentiment, from Birthday Blooms, was then stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms

A small piece of a Tea Lace Doily was attached to the banner, then I added dimensionals and popped it onto the card front.  Some  Pearl Basic Jewels were then added for a final touch for the front.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blooms

I stamped the same flower image from Birthday Blooms on the inside using Watermelon Wonder ink on the Whisper White panel, then stamped the image from Rose Wonder in Mossy Meadow.  Along the bottom is a strip of Watermelon Wonder washi tape.  I framed the artwork piece with a panel of Mossy Meadow from the Designer Series Paper Stacks.

Card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.

And now, please head over to the talented Kristi Gray’s blog to see her beautiful creation.  We love to hear from you, so leave us a message as you hop around!

Stampin’ Up! Pedal Pusher Encouragement Card

My share for today is from the Stampin’ Up! Pedal Pusher stamp set from the Sale-a Bration catalog.  Love, love, love  this stamp set!

Pedal Pusher from Stampin' Up!

This stamp set, even if not free, would be one of my favorites.  If you haven’t ordered yours yet, remember the last day of Sale-a-Bration is March 31st.  Don’t wait till the last minute…..

I started by stamping the “ground”  with a stamp from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Tip Top Taupe.  I stamped it off once before stamping it onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Next, the bicycle from Pedal Pusher was stamped in Basic Black archival ink and then colored in with Stampin’ Write markers.  The basket, flowers, and flag were also stamped first in Basic Black, then colored in with markers, too.

by Card-iology by Jari

Then, I cut a panel of Sweet Li’l Things DSP (clouds) and attached it to the art piece with MP liquid glue.  This was then glued to a panel of Pool Party card stock and a length of Pool Party 1/4″ ribbon was attached with Tear and Tape adhesive, then the bow attached with a glue dot.  I added dimensionals and then popped it onto the So Saffron card base.

Stampin' Up! Pedal Pusher by Card-iology by Jari

For the inside, I repeated part of the bicycle image from Pedal Pusher and added a cloud from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Suite Sayings for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Happy Stampers March 17th Blog Hop

My share for today is from the Suite Sayings stamp set and is dressed up with a flower from the Botanical Builders Framelits Dies.

Suite Sayings from Stampin' Up! Easter Card

And here is our sketch.  Why don’t you see what you can create with it, too?

12274185_1305622946130944_4007434623182849654_n

The Suite Sayings stamp set has 10 wonderful sentiments in lots of different fonts, which will work for so many different occasions.  It is really a keeper!  Of course, I say that about almost all of my stamp sets!  (Just sayin’)  and you know how much I love the framelits if you have been following my blog since the Occasions catalog has come out!

Stampin' Up! Suite Sayings by Card-iology by Jari

I stamped the sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink onto a panel of Whisper White card stock and cut it out with an oval die from the Ovals collection.  I felt that it needed a frame, and since the next sized frame was too large, I used an idea from fellow stamper, Sue Prather.  She says to trace around the outside of the frame, then cut out carefully with scissors for a frame closer to the size of the one you die cut.  And, it worked out just like I wanted it to in Blackberry Bliss. The two ovals were then attached to one another with MP liquid glue.  Love this font from Suite Sayings!
Suite Sayings by Card-iology by Jari

My card base is Calypso Coral with some Wildflower Fields DSP from the Sale-a-Bration catalog (this is FREE  paper until March 31st!) and a strip of Lost Lagoon attached on the right.  I die cut one of the flower images in the Botanical Builder die set in Lost Lagoon and used some Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey for the centers.  The leaves were stamped first with the leaf stamp from Botanical Blooms, then die cut with the corresponding leaf die.  The oval sentiment panel and the leaves and flower were then popped onto the front with dimensionals.

blogsuiteSayings006I added a few flowers from the FREE Botanicals for You stamp set that also coordinates with Botanical Blooms for the inside of the card, and then made an envelope liner to complete the theme.blogsuiteSayings008

And now, on to the next stop on the hop.  Kristi Gray has something special to share today, so make sure you check out her beautiful creation.  A list of all of the “hoppers” for today is posted below in case you want to go around again, or get lost along the way.

Stampin’ Up! Party With Cake Fun!

What is more fun than a barrel of monkeys?  A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators meeting on a Sunday afternoon to stamp together!!  We used the Party With Cake stamp set and Party Pop-Up Thinlets Dies to create this fun card I am sharing today.

Stampin' Up! Party With Cake by Card-iology by Jari

There were 7 of us plus one brave husband who decided to play along with us yesterday!  This stamp set and the framelits make for one fun birthday card!  And, quick and easy too.  My last post used some of the great products in this suite.  In case you missed it, you can see it here.

We started out with Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron, It’s My Party DSP and Basic Black paper.  The sentiment, from the Party With Cake stamp set was inked with Versa Mark and sprinkled with White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Basic Black.  I heated it till embossed, then added a couple of those cute It’s My Party Enamel Dots to one end and punched the other end with a Banner Triple Punch.  When the other layers were attached, I popped the banner onto the front with dimensionals.

The inside was the most fun though:

Stampin' Up Party With Cake by Card-iology by Jari

The Party Pop-Up thinlets Dies found on page 7 of the Occasions catalog are the bomb!  And they are easy to use, too.  There is a little notch on the die that allows you to line up the die perfectly on your card stock so it will go right in the middle of your sheet.  The die cut piece is Melon Mambo, and I used some It’s My Party Washi tape on either side of the panel to add some festive flair.  How cute and easy is that?

Notice, too, that you can bundle and save 15% by ordering both the Party With Cake stamp set and the Party Pop-Up Thinlets Dies at one time!

There are so many fun cards you can make using this set, Party With Cake, or any of the other products in this Party Suite.  Check it out today!

Stampin’ Up! Party Wishes Birthday Card

My share for today is a birthday card using the Party Wishes stamp set from Stampin’ Up!Party Wishes from Card-iology by Jari

I am playing along with this week’s Pals Paper Arts, PPA291 which is a color challenge:

PPA291-Mar10-300x208

And also  TGIFc46 which is a sketch challenge:

TGIF MARCH Challenges-005

Make sure you head over to both of the challenges to see what everyone has designed and also play along!

Party Wishes by Stampin' Up!

Party Wishes is found in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog on page 5.  There you can see all of the It’s My Party Suite.  You also can bundle and save 15% when you purchase the Party Wishes stamp set and the Party Punch Pack.

This is a really quick and easy card to knock out because the Cherry on Top DSP is a great backdrop for the sentiment piece.  Stampin' Up! PartyWishes by Card-iology by JariI layered a piece of the Cherry on Top DSP onto a panel of Watermelon Wonder with multipurpose liquid glue, and then the same to the Cucumber Crush card base.  I love using this glue because it makes positioning easy, you have a little “wiggle” room with it in case you need to re-position a panel.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from Party Wishes onto Whisper White using Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers.  I punched it out with my 2″ circle punch.  Then, created a frame with the 2 3/8″  scallop circle punch using the 2015-2017 In Colors Watermelon Wonder DSP. These two pieces were glued together.

I colored the cupcake image from Party Wishes onto Whisper White paper using Stampin’ Write markers and punched it out with the cupcake punch from the Party Punch Pack punches.  I did the same with the candle image and glued the candle to the top of the cupcake.

Stampin' Up! Party Wishes by Card-iology by Jari

The cupcake was then popped onto the sentiment panel with dimensionals.  I made a banner from another piece of Cherry on Top paper using the Banner Triple punch, attached the sentiment piece to it and popped the whole thing onto the front of the card with dimensionals.

Here is the inside:

Stampin' Up! Party Wishes by Card-iology by Jari

The cake and candles from Party Wishes were stamped in Pool Party and the sentiment stamped in Watermelon Wonder.  The bottom and top of the Whisper White panel is finished off with Watermelon Wonder Washi Tape .

Stampin’ Up! Remarkable You for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Happy Stampers March 10th Blog Hop

My share for today’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop goes out to a very special person.  I decided to use the Remarkable You stamp set because she is truly Remarkable!  Sandi, the original Happy Stamper, is having surgery today and we all want her to know how special she is and that we miss her.  She has been absent from the hop for a few weeks and we patiently await her return and wish her a speedy recovery.

Here is our color challenge:

12316634_1305622806130958_8989341666907484828_n

Remarkable You is the perfect stamp set for trying out water coloring!

Stampin' Up! Remarkable You for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop by Cardiology by Jari

We have had such beautiful weather in Georgia the last few days, that I wanted to try photographing my card outside.  I love the outdoor effect with the calla lilies.  As a little girl growing up in Florida, I remember these beautiful flowers growing wild out in the pastures and how much I loved them!

Remarkable You stamp set from Stampin' Up!

The Old Olive card base is stamped first with the leaf stamp from Remarkable You with Old Olive ink.   I used the stamping off technique. This is where you stamp first on a scrap of paper and then stamp onto your card without re-inking. It gives a softer effect. The calla lilies and the sentiment were stamped onto a panel of Water color paper with Versa Mark ink, then heat embossed with Black embossing powder.  I then used my Aqua Painter to “paint” the center of the flower with Hello Honey ink and a little Tangelo Twist for the stamen. The stems were done in Old Olive ink.  The water colored panel was then adhered to a panel of Basic Black with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A strand of Old Olive Baker’s twine was then wrapped around the art panel 3 times and finished with a bow.  This panel was then popped onto the Old Olive base with dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I chose a sentiment and butterfly from the Best Thoughts stamp set.

Stampin' Up! RemarkableYou by Card-iology by Jari

The sentiment and butterfly were stamped with Basic Black Archival ink, then the butterfly colored in with my Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Marker.

Card stock cuts will be at the end of the post, but now, it is time to head over to Kristi Gray’s blog to see her beautiful creation for today.  Just click on the forward arrow and you’ll be taken right over to her blog.  In case you get lost along the way, a list of the Happy Stampers sharing today is listed below.  Don’t forget to leave a comment, we love hearing from you!

Stampin’ Up! Honeycomb Happiness Thanks

Today, I am sharing a card from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Honeycomb Happiness by Card-iology by Jari

The colors for my card were inspired by the Fab Friday #82 Challenge.  Head over to see all of the creations and play along!

Fab Friday Logos-013

I saw a collar fold card on Pinterest and thought it would make a fun card for this challenge.  See it here.  There are also some directions for making the fold for the front of the card.  I will also explain below. I did not plan to make this card exactly the way it turned out, but had to make a quick change because of a boo-boo!  I am so thankful I found a way to salvage it!  The oval banner was a life saver—in my steps below, I will explain the right way to go about adding the sentiment! 🙂

Honeycomb Happiness by Card-iology by Jari

I just love Honeycomb Happiness, not only because it is free during Sale-a-Bration, but also because of all 6 stamps that are included.  Three are images and three are phrases.  I also love how this ice cream cone pairs with the Birthday Bouquet DSP, don’t you?

Honeycomb Happiness Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Tips for making the card:

  1. Stamp the ice cream cone with Basic Black onto Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, and Pool Party.
  2. Cut out the whole Soft Suede ice cream cone, cut out only the ice cream on the other 3.
  3. Stamp the top flavor with the sprinkles stamp from the Sprinkles of LIfe stamp set in Soft Suede.
  4. Attach the flavors of ice cream onto the Soft Suede cone with multipurpose glue.
  5. Cut a panel of Birthday Bouquet DSP (ice cream cones) 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ ; at the half way point, (2 3/4″), make a slit with the trimmer 1 1/2″ in toward the center, and fold and crease the paper back.
  6. Decide where you want to add the sentiment BEFORE adding the DSP folded panel to the front of your card, and stamp it.  Because the fold is thicker than the base card, my stamp wobbled and made the image blur, so I quickly came up with an alternate idea.  Especially since I had already folded and glued down the decorative panel!
  7. Then, glue or snail the folded DSP to the base-I used Whisper White Thick cardstock.
  8. Because of my boo-boo, I stamped another sentiment onto a piece of Blushing Bride and punched it out with a scallop oval punch, then attached it with dimensionals.
  9. Attach the ice cream with dimensionals, too.
  10. Finish the inside as desired

Here is how I decided to finish mine:

Stampin' Up! HoneycombHappiness by Card-iology by Jari

I used one of  the sentiments from the Another Thank You stamp set and stamped it in Soft Suede ink.  The top and bottom of the panel were trimmed with Mint Macaron Washi Tape.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Blossoms

And, here is the sketch we are working with this week:

I love the Birthday Blooms stamp set and decided to pair it with some English Garden Designer Series Paper.  There are so many fun colors to work with in this set of papers.  And, they make me think of spring!  We have had a little hint of spring the last few days in Georgia, and it has been so nice to enjoy the warmer days and buds of flowers appearing!
