Stampin’ Up! Botanical Gardens and Occasions Catalog Sneak Peeks

Recently I attended the Stampin’ Up! On Stage Local event in Tampa, Florida, with two of my stamping buddies, Amy Koenders and Mary Deatherage.  We were privileged to see the new Occasions Catalog, play with new stamp sets and paper, and win some of the new stamps!  When you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, you get to order some of the new stamps and accessories early and share them with customers. Prize Patrol is certainly fun at these events-we all had an opportunity to win new items from the Handmade from the Heart Occasions Catalog! One of the new featured suites is Botanical Gardens.

Botanical Blooms Catd-iology by JariThis is really a great set which includes new Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper, Botanical Builder Framelits Dies, Botanical Blooms stamp set, Botanical Garden Jewels and you can Bundle and Save 15% starting January 5, 2016.  The other exciting thing is that with the purchase of this bundle, you will qualify for a free item from the Sale-A-Bration Flyer.  Woo-Hoo!

Stampin’ Up! Cozy Christmas for Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Happy Thanksgiving!  We are all so very thankful for all of you stampers out there who join us each week for our Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop.  Today’s challenge is another sketch:

1002368_1282828098410429_1158247532917635064_nI used the Cozy Christmas stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for my share today.

Cozy Christmas Card-iology by Jari

This is another very quick and easy card. I started by stamping the sentiment from the Cozy Christmas stamp set onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  How did I get all of the different colors?  I used my Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Delightful Dijon, and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Write Markers and colored in the words, then huffed my hot little breath onto the rubber before stamping.  I used the 2 1/2″ Circle punch to cut it out and then adhered that circle to another circle cut from Real Red cardstock with the Circles Framelits Die with snail.Cozy Christmas 2 Cardiology by JariSanta and his sleigh, also from the Cozy Christmas set, was inked in Versa mark and sprinkled with Black Embossing powder and heated with my Heat tool onto a panel of Home For Christmas DSP.  Once dry and cool, I ran it through the Big Shot inside the Softly Falling TIEF to create a more snowy looking scene.  This panel was layered onto a panel of Mossy Meadow with snail and then snailed to the Real Red card base.  The sentiment was added to the front with Dimensionals.  The Snowflake Element has a small piece of Dimensional behind the Mossy Meadow Enamel Dot and a little glue from my Glue Pen was dabbed onto the ends of the snowflake overlapping the circles.  I used another piece of the Home for Christmas DSP to line my Very Vanilla envelope.  Oops, I almost forgot to share the inside:

Cozy Christmas

It was stamped in Real Red and Mossy Meadow inks using another of the stamps from the Cozy Christmas set.

Finally, the back flap of the envelope needed a little decorating:

Card stock cuts will be at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Notecard and Weekly Deals

I used the Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You to create a really quick and easy notecard to share today.

Acorny Thank You Card-iology by JariSince I am out of town for a few days, I needed a quick and easy notecard to be able to create and give this week for Thanksgiving.  I stamped the acorn top from the Acorny Thank You stamp set from Stampin’ Up! onto a piece of Whisper White card stock with Daffodil Delight ink.  Then I punched it out with the Acorn Builder punch.  I also punched out the bottom of the acorn from a piece of Kraft Corrugated paper with the same punch.  I love how the acorn bottom turns out with this paper!

The completed acorn was then attached (with Dimensionals) to a piece of Into the Woods DSP that I punched out with my 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The whole image was then layered with more Dimensionals to the front panel of Into the Woods DSP, which I had already snailed to the front of the Whisper White Notecard. A bow was tied around the acorn stem using a strand of Linen Thread.   I added the Thanks from the Expressions Natural Elements with Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue.  So quick and so easy for a fun Thank You card!

And, now on a personal note, I have not been able to post the last several days because I have been away at my son’s wedding.  My husband and I hosted the rehearsal dinner the night before and we had to drive 7 hours in 2 vehicles to take everything for the party!  Craziness!  I am still out of town for a few days, so please bear with me as I will not be posting as much as normal.

Here are a couple of shots of the beautiful bride and groom (my son):

Stampin’ Up! Cozy Christmas for the Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Welcome to another Thursday Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop.  This week we have a color challenge:

12096151_1282827851743787_1607856579373216924_n We are using some of my favorite holiday colors again!  I used the Cozy Christmas stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Handmade for the Holidays catalog.  My card makes me think of an old-fashioned, home-spun Christmas.

Cozy Christmas Card-iology by Jari

I began by stamping the sentiment image onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock in Versa Mark ink and sprinkled on some Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  Once it had dried, I die cut it with one of the Stars Framelits.  I used the largest Star die to cut the piece of polka dot paper from Merry Moments DSP and adhered the two with Multipurpose glue.  Then, I cut out more stars and layered them using more of the Merry Moments DSP to pick up all of my challenge colors.

Cozy Christmas 2 Card-iology by JariI placed a panel of Crumb Cake card stock in the Lucky Stars TIEF (sorry I forgot to put this in the list of products used todayand dry embossed it with my Big Shot.  That layer was snailed to a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock.  All of the smaller stars were adhered to the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then I wrapped Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Baker’s twine around the middle and popped this layer onto the Old Olive base with Dimensionals.  The top of the large star looked a little bare, so I die cut a bow from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and attached it with a glue dot. Old Olive candy dots finished off the middle of the bow and 2 of the stars. I popped up the largest star with the sentiment onto the card with Dimensionals.

Cozy Christmas Card-iology by JariThe inside was also stamped with a sentiment from Cozy Christmas with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.

Card stock cuts in inches will be at the bottom of this post.

Now, on to see what Kristi Gray has designed for us today!  I hope you will plan on traveling all the way around the hop for some great projects from all of the Happy Stampers Team.

Stampin’ Up! Big News Wedding Card

Big News Card-iology by JariI used the Big News stamp set from Stampin’ Up! for my card today.  I have a son that is getting married this weekend and because life has been so hectic getting ready for the wedding, I almost forgot to make a card!

This card was actually very quick and easy-which is something everyone wants to hear especially this time of year.  First, I stamped the image from Big News in Versa Mark ink onto a panel of Whisper White thick cardstock and sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder.  I also stamped the 2 small heart images from the Big News set onto a scrap of the same Whisper White thick paper and repeated with the Versa Mark and Gold embossing powder.  Then, I heated them both with the Heat Tool. I fussy cut the hearts and set them aside.

Big News Card-iology by JariI cut a panel of Gold Foil paper and used the Large Polka Dot TIEF to dry emboss it, then glued it to the Whisper White Thick card stock base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I cut a panel from a sheet from the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack and a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock and adhered them together with a little snail (behind the image) and some very small dots of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen, then attached a length of 5/8″ Organza Ribbon using some Tear and Tape before popplng that panel onto the card front with Dimensionals.  Since the sentiment was dry, I attached it to a piece of the Gold Foil paper with snail and popped it onto the front with more Dimensionals.  One of the hearts was glued on with Multipurpose Liquid glue and the other popped up with a Dimensional once a bow of Gold Cording had been attached with a small amount of the glue from the Fine Tip pen.  Last, I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the I in happily.

Big News Card-iology by JariFor the inside, I cut a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock, stamped the sentiment and hearts with Versa Mark, sprinkled them with Gold Embossing Powder and heat embossed them.  I added some of the coordinating Washi Tape from the Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape pack to the left side, then snailed the panel to the card base.

Card stock cuts will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Wonderland

My card today is from the Wonderland stamp set from the Handmade for the Holidays Stampin’ Up! catalog.  I love, love, love this set-even with the deer horns! I am not a hunter, but have sons and a son-in-law who are avid deer hunters.  They love to try and hang those antlers right where everyone can see them the minute you walk in the house.  But my daughter and I out-smart them and put them in moe inconspicuous places!

Wonderland Card-iology by JariI stamped the trees in Basic Black Archival ink directly onto the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum.  If you try this, it takes a while for the ink to dry, so be patient.  While waiting, I stamped the sentiment onto a different  piece of the Vellum.  I tapped the Snowflake Element onto my Versa Mark ink pad and sprinkled it with Gold Embossing powder, then heated it with my Heat Tool.  Sorry it looks a little dark in the picture!

Wonderland Card-iology by Jari

I cut the ends of the sentiment with the Banner Triple Punch and did the same to a strip of Whisper White thick cardstock that I attached the vellum to.  I probably would have been easier to do them both at the same time-so if you try this, don’t do as I did!  The panel of trees was attached to the Whisper White thick cardstock with the fine tip glue pen.  I cut a length of Gold Cording trim and attached the ends to the back of the banner with a small piece of tape, then added dimensionals and adhered it to the front of the card.  Next, the snowflke was added to the banner with a couple of glue dots and a dimensional to the middle on the back.  The iced Rhinestone hides the dimensional that I placed under the center of the snowflake.  Some regular Rhinestones were then added to the front for a little more sparkle.

I did not add a sentiment to the inside, but did add some of the Winter Wonderland Washi Tape along the bottom of the card.

Hi, it’s Thursday, and we’ve got another Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop for you!  So glad you joined us for today’s sketch challenge:

Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop November 12, 2015I used the Stampin’ Up! Thankful Forest Friends stamp set for my interpretation of this sketch.

Thankful Forest Friends Card-iology by Jari

I really love this stamp set, especially the bear.  If you have been following my blog for a while, you have seen him quite a bit.  He is still cute every time I stamp and cut him out.  The fox and bunny are also cute, but somehow, I just love the bear!

I sponged the inside of the Woodland TIEF with Soft Suede ink before placing my Kraft cardstock inside and ran it through the Big Shot for the shading effect on my tree scene.  Then, I glued it to a little larger panel of Kraft cardstock with snail.   That layer was popped onto the Cajun Craze card base with Dimensionals.

Thankful Forest Friends Card-iology by JariI inked up the sentiment from Thankful Forest Friends with several of my Stampin’ Write Markers, then stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock that was 2 3/8″ square.  I used the 2 1/2″ square from the Squares Collection Framelits to make a frame in Cajun Craze cardstock and snailed them together.  Each of the animals was stamped and fussy cut with my Paper Snips.  Here is a peek inside:

I took a strip that was left over from the Woodland scene and glued it to the left side of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid glue, and stamped the bear again with a sentiment from the Crazy About You stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Oh, What Fun Christmas Card

Oh, What Fun Card-ilogy by JariToday’s card is a quick and easy Christmas Card from the stamp set, Oh, What Fun from Stampin’ Up!  I had seen a similar card in the Handmade for the Holidays catalog and decided to change mine up just a little since I did not have the stamp sets Stampin’ Up! used in making it.  We have to get a little creative sometimes, don’t we?

I just cut a panel of Whisper White Thick cardstock for my base, then another Whisper White Thick panel to attach my Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum to.  I added some dots of Multipurpose Liquid glue onto some of the tree images to adhere them together.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Oh, What Fun in Cucumber Crush ink onto another panel of Whisper White Thick Cardstock, then gave it a Silver Foil frame and adhered with Multipurpose Glue.   The present is a square from the Square Collection Framelits Dies first cut in Whisper White and then cut with another piece of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.

Those squares were adhered with little dots of glue, then I wrapped a strand of Silver 1/8″ ribbon around the top/bottom and the middle and added a little scotch tape to hold it to the back until I made the bow for the front.  The bow is adhered with a glue dot.  Then I popped the present up with Dimensionals above the sentiment.  This whole panel was also popped up onto the front of the card with Dimensionals.    I chose a sentiment from Versatile Christmas to stamp on the inside with Cucumber Crush ink.

Oh What Fun Card-iology by JariI used more of the red striped Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and my Envelope Liners Framelits for lining the envelope.
