Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Sympathy

Today’s share is a sympathy card using the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.

Heartfelt Sympathy

I am really loving this new Floral  Boutique DSP for so many occasions.  I thought this made a pretty choice for my friend who recently lost her husband.  And, there was very little stamping involved which made for a quick card.  I used Night of Navy ink and stamped a panel of Whisper White with one of the sentiments from Heartfelt Sympathy.  Then, framed that panel with a Night of Navy panel.

Heartfelt Sympathy

I punched some Night of Navy flowers using the Petite Petals punch and added some dimension by curling the edges a little with a bone folder.  The centers are Pearls Basic Jewels.  I wrapped a strand of 5/8″ Organza ribbon around a panel of Floral Boutique DSP and made a bow bofore adding that panel to the Night of Navy card base with dimensionals.  The senitment panel was then added to the lower right portion of the front with dimensionals.

Heartfelt Sympathy

I wanted to write a message on the inside, so I only added a 1/2″ strip of the opposite side of the Floral Boutique DSP to the bottom of my Whisper White panel.

***Correction to my last post!

Thanks to Mary L, who found my mistake from my last post on the Birthday Fun Fold card, I had written the wrong measurement for the length of the base card!  So sorry.  I have corrected the post now!   http://cardiologybyjari.com/stampin-birthday-fun-fold-card/

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Fun Fold Card

Hi Stampers, today I have another fun fold card for you.  This time, it is a Birthday Fun Fold Card using some of the new Festive Birthday DSP.

Birthday Fun Fold card

I started out with a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock cut 4 1/4″ X 11″, and scored it at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″.  Because I wanted to decorate the front with 2 pieces of DSP, I attached the striped DSP you see at the top of the card before punching out my circle  The small panel measures 2 1/4″ X 4″ (if you do not want to decorate the whole top panel as I did, just punch your 2″ circle first)  Do not fold any of the paper, just punch a 2″ circle a little left of the center of the paper, inserting your punch on the long left side.  See diagram:

dimensions001

Fold on the score lines into a tri-fold card.  I added a 4″ X 4″ panel of another piece of the Festive Birthday DSP to the bottom front with snail.

Birthday Fun Fold

The banner is from the Time of Year stamp set.  It’s stamped with Versa Mark ink, sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and then heat embossed.  I used the Bunch of Banners Framelits Die to cut it out and popped it on with dimensionals.  Happy is also heat embossed with the Gold embossing powder.  I used a stamp from Thoughtful Banners for it.  The donkey and sombrero are fussy cut from the DSP and added with dimensionals.  The #6 is from the Large Numbers Framelits dies and I added some of the new Metallic Enamel shapes for some bling!

Birthday Fun Fold

I also added a panel of the stripe DSP to the inside of the flap, but this is not necessary!  Here is the card open and fully extended:

Birthday Fun Fold

For the inside, I added a 4″ X 4″ Whisper White panel with a strip of the striped DSP from the front, and added another sentiment from Celebrate Today stamped in Emerald Envy.

Pop of Paradise Hello for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

So glad you are here for our Happy Stampers Hop!  My share today is a Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise Hello card.

Pop of Paradise Hello

We are working with this sketch, and as you can see, I added a few elements to mine!

Happy Stampers Blog Hop June 23, 2016

Pop of Paradise Hello

I cut my panels of Pop of Pink DSP first and adhered them to a panel of Basic Black.  The Gold Foil hello is die cut 3 times from Hello You Thinlets and glued together with my Fine Tip Glue pen.  A tip when using this glue is to dab your dots of glue and wait a minute or so before adding the next layer.  This really helps the glue not to spread out as it is already a little dry.  A length of 1/8″ Melon Mambo Stitched Ribbon was attached at the meeting point of my two layers of DSP with glue and a small bow added with a glue dot.

Pop Of Pink Hello

The flamingo stamp, from Pop of Paradise, is stamped in Melon Mambo and fussy cut.  I decided the flamingo looked too lonely on the bottom panel, so I stamped one leaf in Melon Mambo and another in Versa Mark and sprinkled it with Gold Embossing powder and heat embossed it.  They were both then fussy cut.  The flamingo and gold leaf are popped on with dimensionals, the pink leaf with multipurpose liquid glue.

Pop Of Paradise Hello

The inside panel of Whisper White is stamped with the sentiment from Pop of Paradise in Melon Mambo.  I added a strip of Pop of Pink DSP to the bottom that mirrors the front of my card.  And that completes my Pop of Paradise Hello card for today!

You will find a list of products and card stock cuts at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Foxy Friends Birthday Take 2

My share today is Foxy Friends Birthday Take 2.  If you stopped by last time, you saw my first take on this cute new set.  I have a couple of grandsons having birthdays this month and decided to use Foxy Friends stamp set for both of them.

Foxy Friends Birthday Take 2

Once I made first card, I just had to make another one with this wonderful A Little Foxy DSP.  I love these colors together.  I made 2 mats for the zig-zag panel, one in Calypso Coral, the other in Smoky Slate, then attached them to the Pool Party card base.  Behind the fox, i have a panel of Smoky Slate that I dry embossed in the Woodland TIEF.  It is  framed in Pool Party.

Foxy Friends Birthday Take 2

Next, I stamped the fox images that can be punched out with the new Fox Builder Punch that can be purchased as a bundle with Foxy Friends for a 10% discount, and punched them.  The stump is stamped in Basic Gray ink and fussy cut out, then added with dimensionals.  I attached the fox’s head to his body with a little glue, then sat him on the stump using dimensionals.  I slipped his tail in and used dimensionals there too.

Foxy Friends 2

The banner is stamped with Time of Year (a host set) in Calypso Coral, and die cut using the new Bunch of Banners Framelits.  I used Thoughtful Banners for the word, Happy, and stamped 3 in Memento Black ink. Then, snipped around them with Paper Snips and added them with small pieces of Dimensionals.  My birthday banner is fussy cut from the A Little Foxy DSP with some Subtles Enamel Shapes added for some bling.(I used Dimensionals for the banner, too)

Foxy Friends

The inside is stamped with another fox image from Foxy Friends, and the sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners.  I added a strip of Subltes DSP (Calypso Coral) to the bottom to finish it off.

Well, that is my Foxy Friends Birthday Take 2.  What do you think?  Hopefully, you have enjoyed my two takes on this fun new set!  Card stock cuts and a product list are at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Foxy Friends Birthday

Happy Saturday!  My share for today is a birthday card using the new Foxy Friends stamp set.  In fact, I made 2 Foxy Friends birthday cards and will share the second one next time.

Foxy Friends #1

I am playing along with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, FMS#241

FMS Final 241-001

Foxy Friends #1

I received this fun stamp set and punch from my upline, Amy Koenders, at our last team meeting.  She always rewards us with fun new stamping products.  Thanks, Amy, I love this one 🙂 !

I used 2 panels from the coordinating DSP, A Little Foxy, for the front. They are snailed to a panel of Smoky Slate which frames them.  Then, I wrapped a strand of Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine around 3 times and secured it with some tape before adding dimnensionals and attaching this to the Calypso Coral card base.

My fox is stamped in Calypso Coral and Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a panel of Whisper White, then die cut out.  I also stamped the little thought bubble in Memento ink onto Smoky Slate and fussy cut it.  The banner is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set bundle.  I added some of the new Subtles Enamel Shapes to the banners.

Foxy Friends #1

Foxy Friends can actually make several different animals.  A fox, a cat, a raccoon, a tiger, a deer and I suppose even a skunk!

Foxy Friends 1

I stamped a different fox image from Foxy Friends for the inside Whisper White panel and added a sentiment from Thoughtful Banners.  The bottom of the panel has a strip from A Little Foxy DSP attached with some snail.  Isn’t this a cute birthday card?

Products and card stock cuts will be listed at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Wings for the Happy Stampers Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner

Welcome to another Happy Stampers Blog Hop Thursday. My share today is a Playful Palette Watercolor Wings card, with lots of help from some other favorites from Stampin’ Up!

Playful Palette Watercolor Wings

We’re working with a color challenge with a couple of the new In Colors thrown into the mix:

June 16

As you can see, I am using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets again!  They are so versatile, and I am so glad I purchased the bundle!

Playful Palette Watercolor Wings

I used Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride on my butterfly from Watercolor Wings.  My swirly circles are die cut in those same colors of card stock.  I used my Botanical Builder Framelits to cut out Emerald Envy leaves and a Sweet Sugarplum flower and 2 Blushing Bride flowers.  I sponged the edges of my flowers with Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride inks.

Playful Palette Watercolor Wings

My Sweet Sugarplum banner is punched with the new Duet Banner punch and stamped with a sentiment from Thoughtful Banners, also a new stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wings by Cardiology by Jari 010

For the inside of my card, I chose a sentiment from another favorite stamp set, Suite Sayings.  It is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The bottom has a strip of the Playful Palette DSP that is also on the front of the card.  Card stock cuts are at the end of my post.

Stampin’ Up! Swirly Sailboat for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

13335568_10209857162614036_4475767723246107547_n

Welcome to our New Catalog Blog Hop!  Today, Amy’s Inkin’ Krew is sharing projects from the new Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog.  My share is from the Swirly Bird Bundle.  There are so many possibilities with this set.  If you haven’t purchased it yet, you surely need to get it soon!  You won’t be disappointed.

Swirly Sailboat

I also used Gorgeous Grunge for the “sea spray”, and Seaside Shore for the banner sentiment and the inside anchor.  For the inside sentiment, I used the Crazy About You stamp set.  It is fun when you can pull together several stamp sets for a certain theme on a card.

Swirly Bird

And, here is the inside of the card:

Swirly Bird

So, what do you think of the Swirly Sailboat?  It’s hard to call it Swirly Bird when making a sailboat!

Card dimensions and tips will be at the end of the post.

Stampin’ Up! Floral Boutique Drapery Fold

Hi, and happy Monday.  Is that an oxymoron?  Hopefully, not!  Hope it is a great day for you.  🙂  My share today is a Drapery Fold Card using the new Floral Boutique DSP from Stampin’ Up!   My upline, Amy Koenders, had a team meeting yesterday and this is one of the 3 cards we made.  I will share the other two later this week.  Mary Deatherage, Sue Prather, and I were the teachers for the day, and decided to make some cards with fun folds!  I can’t wait to show you the other two.

We all used the same Floral Boutique DSP on our cards, but surprisingly, we each focused on a different pattern. Pretty cool!

Drapery Fold Card

This is my second Drapery Fold card I have posted.  You can see my other one HERE.  To me, you get a dramatic effect with very little effort when making this card. You just need to choose a sentiment that will fit into your right corner.  And, you could use this for a wedding card as I did, or birthday, or any other occasion for that matter!  I actually used three different stamp sets for this card!  The sentiment for the front is from Birthday Blossoms.

Drapery Fold card

For the inside, I chose the flower image from Bloomin’ Love because the pattern is similar to the DSP on the front, and the sentiment is from the new Floral Phrases set.  Floral Phrases has 2 stamps that actually match the Floral Boutique DSP.

Drapery Fold Card

Tips, Tricks and measurements for making a  Drapery Fold card:

  1. Use 12 x 12 DSP, and cut a panel that is 4 X 11 1/2; score at 3″, 4″, 6″, 7″, 9″, 10″
  2. Beginning at the 3″ score (on the left), use scissors and cut diagonally up to the right side of the DSP to about 1 1/2″ down from the top; pleat on the scored lines to create the drapery effect.
  3. Use snail or glue to hold the pleats together (do not attach this piece to the front of the card yet)
  4. Place your drapery piece on the card base to determine where you want your stamping, then stamp your sentiment.
  5. Now snail or glue the drapery piece to the front of the card.  I left a little margin at the top.
  6. I created a bow with my Bow Builder punch and used some Night of Navy card stock to serve as “ribbon” going horizontally under the bow.
  7. Stamp your inside sentiment and decorate the bottom with a strip of DSP used on the front.

Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection for CTS #176

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are having a wonderful day. We have had beautiful weather in Georgia the past several days, but the humidity is creeping back up to match the thermometer’s rising!    My share for today is from Love & Affection from Stampin’ Up!  This is one of the new stamp sets that I shared with you last week.

Love & Affection

My sketch inspiration is from CAS(E) This Sketch # 176.  Don’t forget to have a look at all of the entries and join in the fun!

CTS_176

Love & Affection is a photopolymer set, so it is really easy to stamp on the images.  I started by stamping the large flower in Versa Mark ink onto Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron, then sprinkled them with Copper Embossing powder and heated them till shiny.  Once they cooled, I fussy cut them, and stamped the leaves in Cucumber Crush.  They are heat embossed in Copper and fussy cut also.

Love & Affection

I punched a panel of Watermelon Wonder with the Banner Triple Punch, inked the sentiment with Versa Mark and used the Copper Embossing powder.  With all of those flowers on the card, I just had to create a butterfly-so I pulled out the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and yes, once again, used that wonderful new Copper Embossing Powder!  The butterfly is also fussy cut.

Love & Affection

The Affectionately Yours DSP pairs with Love & Affection so nicely!  I cut a panel and framed it with Night of Navy, then popped it onto the Crumb Cake card base with dimensionals, then glued the banner down and arranged the flowers, leaves and butterfly onto the front with dimensionals also.

If you peek closely, you will see a strip of Affectionately Yours DSP on the inside Crumb Cake panel that was snailed to the Crumb Cake base, leaving lots of room to write a note to the recipient.

Card stock cuts in inches and products used will be at the end of the post.
